I was pleasantly surprised at how well stocked (and deceivingly large) the store is. Perhaps it was only well stocked because it was move-in weekend for the Freshers, but the inventory on the shelves were plentiful. We even found a beard trimmer plug to UK electric plug adapter there! The check outs were plentiful and efficient for self check out. I'm glad my child has this Tesco nearby for all the essentials.

The fruit and veg they don't grow themselves comes mainly from other farms in the UK, although a few bits and bobs come from further afield (although I would say that even in winter, this was the minority of stock). In addition to wonderful veggies they have so much meat it is unbelievable. Pretty much anything you want you can get - they also do a fabby steak pie and other pretty tasty and reasonably healthy ready-meals. But we are not finished yet - local honey, UK liqueurs, fruit wines, local jams, sauces, condiments, cheese, ice-cream, deserts, crackers, breads - seriously, a lovely place to make a gift basket or to treat yourself with a gourmet dinner. Prices are very reasonable for the produce - in fact I would say that it is often cheaper than supermarket. Meat and ready-meals, I don't mind paying for if they are quality - which they are. Other groceries are a bit spendy, but they are not mass-produced, they are usually made in the UK, so I generally don't grudge that for a special treat. Lip-smackingly good!

The store is easy to move around with plenty of space between the aisles. There are many checkouts and they are always well manned which means that you never have to wait too long in queue to pay. If have always found the staff to be friendly and pleasant. The store has its own large carpark and there is also a petrol station attached to the store. The store is open until late in the evening with late nights on thursday and friday until 10pm

Exactly what we looked for after a long day out. We've had similar meals from other big chains before, but the ones from Waitrose taste the best to us. Good shopping here at Waitrose. Think about it - you've landed, got through security and grabbed your bags, you're tired, quite possibly hungry and you just need things to be easy for ten minutes. Convenience is king. This is especially true when the options available include M&S so you can feel like, even though the holiday is over and you're back too late to cook a real meal, at least it'll be a nice ready meal that you're buying. Sure, it's pricey, but you're not quite ready to quit holiday mode just yet. This branch is pretty tiny, but it has all the essentials. The staff are pretty great too and get through the queues rapidly. I'll definitely remember that it's here for the next time I travel.

Before a flight, of course you can't buy liquids but I was thrilled to see they have my favorite breakfast - boiled eggs with fresh spinach!! I've grabbed these at Pret at other airports - but sadly the Eats in Edinburgh airport don't have them - but I can now get it at M&S before going through security. When arriving back in Edinburgh, it's great for grabbing some essentials so you don't have to go to the grocery store on your first day back. Missing star is because there isn't much fresh produce (mostly sandwiches, milk. crisps, drinks...) but it has so much more than was ever at the airport before.

Location aside, that description is true. They stock everything from fairy liquid to fresh fruit and free range eggs, ad not only was it really cheap but it was also really good quality. Let me elaborate... Tesco: 4 "ripen at home" (aka totally unripe) nectarines for £1 and apparently that's them giving you a special offer. Here, I got a punnet of 10 perfectly ripe ones for only £1.79. Moreover, the guy who served me in here didn't look like he hated his job so much he was about to kill himself. I even got a smile and a hello, followed by him telling me to enjoy my day on my way out. We need more little shops like these!
