It's cheap and cheerful, but with the credit crunch, that's got to be a good thing. You'll get less choice than at some of the bigger supermarkets but the prices are generally lower which is the most important thing for many shoippers. East access and car parking too. read more

Now its a bigger store, there is more verity and space to get through the isles without crashing into other people. The staff are normal very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, one of the checkout staff was not very friendly. My husband and myself went to the 10 items or less counter as all the counters were really busy and this one was practically empty, had 13 items which we could of split and paid for separately but did not, only for the checkout staff to rant and out loud rudely about us to her colleague who was taking over to serve us. It was unprofessional and had she mentioned the till was 10 items or less we would of told her that we will split the items between us, which would of meant she was serving twice instead of once taking more time up. Customer service skills need reviewing. read more

The cafe is bad. We were on holiday and payed a visit as we always get our meals there whilst on holiday. The fish and chips we ordered had the size of fish for a mini and was very pale, we were not offered or brought any gravy with the steak pie and the cheese and bacon toastie had 3 shreds of bacon in it. We complained but were told that the fish was what you get and was cooked well enough and the toastie only comes with 1 piece of bacon! When we showed it was barely 1/4 of bacon we were told that they could add more but it would cost us!!! We normally spend a lot of money in Morrisons cafe whilst on holiday as there is five of us and we normally eat all our meals there but we certainly did not return on this occasion.... not happy to say the least! read more

Probably one of the cheapest supermarkets in town (until Asda opens in Silverhill) excluding the 'foreign' Lidl. BUT, it is horrendously crowded, with narrow aisles often blocked with steel wire dump bins filled with special offers and everyone else seems to have a surplus of children most of whom seem to be crying. The noise levels are huge especially as there is building work going on to extend the store and carpark. The staff are friendly and helpful even though they are working in a very stressful enviroment. The thing to do is go early. No problems with parking, but don't be tempted to park in Morrison's and then nip into town as they have a carpark attendant taking down reg plates and CCTV to spot people parking there for free. There's a cafe to the right which seems to be popular especially with old folk. Visible security guard. Long queues. Where else could you buy a jar of curry sauce for 5p? read more

Morrisons is the only supermarket situated in the town centre of Hastings, as Sainsbury and Tesco are both in St Leonards. This means, for me, it's a convenient location to pop in and grab any small bits I might need if I am in town already. It wouldn't, however, be my first choice for my weekly shop. For one thing, it's not as big as Sainsbury and certainly nowhere near the size of the new Tesco which is said to be the biggest in the country. The size of course must mean a smaller range of products. Another put off for me is the number of older people who go there to do their weekly shop and dodder about the aisles holding you up, this is increasingly frustrating as the aisles are so narrow too. One good thing Morrisons does have going for it is price. As well as low prices, there are always a large number of BOGOF deals around. The price of their petrol is also always the cheapest in town, they just seem to undercut everyone all of the time. read more

As other reviewers have said it is fairly priced and the only supermarket in the town centre which sadly means people with no car HAVE to shop there. They have some good offers on but you generally have to get their early as things have a tendency to run out very often. The staff aren't very knowledgable on products or offers and if you need to contact the store you have to spend about an hour wating for someone to pick up the phone. If there was any other supermarkets in town (with the exception of iceland, errrrrr) i'd happily shop at them instead of morissons but as it's the only one i guess i'm stuck going there every week! read more

Friendly store with a good choice of products. Excellent fresh fish counter. Not as many offers nowadays but still good value for money. My only complaint is the parking which at busy times can be a nightmare due to the fact that people still park there to visit the town centre. The store manager has said that they are trying to stop this by charging if you stay more than 2 hrs and don't have a valid Morrison's till receipt. read more

Dreadful customer service no concern or interest in the customer or in attracting them to shop. Always crowded, checkouts the slowest of all Hastings supermarkets. Scruffy and tired. Avoid! read more
