    Remnants of my cherry pie...

Hankering for fried pies and came upon Morrison Fried pies in Hot Springs Arkansas. Outstanding! Started with the Father/Son team running the stand. Gave out suggestions that were just spot on....had the delicious peach, apple, cherry pies...and was surprised with a complimentary pecan...which sent us over the edge! Well, not really over the edge, as I went back and ordered a meat pie...chicken, mushroom, feta...delectably delicious. Just a hidden gem in a jewel city. Highly recommended.

Here's what we got in our first visit.

I wasn't sure what to expect with this. I'd had hostess fruit pies as a kid, but this is another whole level (actually several levels). First off, the guys working the trailer (one of which was the owner) were as friendly and helpful as could be. Also very patient with us as we're tried to figure out what to order. We ended up trying the chicken pot pie, blackberry, cherry, coconut cream, and pecan. The fruit pies we warmed up for about 20 seconds in microwave and the meat pie a little longer. The chicken pot pie was better than any chicken pot pie I've had in a restaurant. The filling was super flavorful. All had lots of filling. The fruit pies have a slight glaze on them. Of the fruit pies blackberry was my favorite, but all were great. On our way out of town we stopped by to get some to take home. Got more chicken pot pie, an empanada (beef with Mexican type fillings), a Mediterranean (chicken with Greek type additions), and the Cajun one (natchitoches - beef with Cajun flavoring). Again all were good. Chicken pot pie remained my favorite. Reheating in microwave after refrigerating made the crust soggy, need to ask how best to reheat). Also tried a variety of fruit pies. All good, blackberry still our favorite. I'd say they run out of meat pies pretty early on Saturday. We were there a little after 9 and there were few left. We are big fans. If we return to the area, Morrison's is definitely on our list.

So glad I saw this place on a blog and came to try it out while I was in town! The best fried pies! The crust was so flaky, buttery and held together perfectly. Upon arriving the worker mentioned he was out of pie crust to make more pies and told me what flavors was left. Thankfully they had all of the pies I wanted to try still available. Even snagged the last cherry pie. The person who helped me was so nice. He had asked if I had a punch card and I told him I was actually just visiting and still gave me a punch card and said to save it for the next time I was in town. I got the chicken pot pie, cherry, peach and Natchitoches pie. All were great! Can't wait to come back and try everything else on the menu!

This place is so good! I'm so happy I bought a home in Royal so I can come here everyday! Their empanada meat pie is legit. It's chicken with jalapeño black olives cheese and garlic. Sooo much flavor! The first bite is heavenly! Their crust is so light crispy and airy. I could fry anything in that crust including Adobo rice and spam musubi. Don't take my notes! Their fruit pie with apple is yummy. I need to hurry up and take this home and make it a la mode. Service is great. Super helpful and I got a punch card. It should fill up by next time... I'll be back. For every meat pie flavor and cheesecake!!!

I have family nearby and they have simply been raving about these fried pies for a year or so. I'd stopped by once before while in-town, but they weren't open. They are closed on Sunday and Monday and I am told they sometimes close early, if the pies run out for the day. It's a food truck, but they also have a couple of picnic tables set up, if you want to eat in the parking lot. The pies are literally empanadas. There are many savory and sweet options available. The pies are lightly fried, airy, and simply delicious.

Morrison's Fried Pies are known as the best homemade fried pies in the South. We ordered 5 pies altogether to get a taste of the sweet and savory flavors. Some flavors were already sold out, so we had to change up our order at the last minute. The guy working at the food truck provided excellent customer service (he offered suggestions and explained what's in certain pies) and even handed us a punch card. I didn't have the heart to tell him that we're visitors to the area and most likely won't be back. Sweet: Apple pecan Strawberry cheesecake Savory: Empanada Natchitoches Sloppy joe Although I've tried the Natchitoches meat pies in Natchitoches, LA, this version was surprisingly way better! I went back to order more and they had already sold out. The strawberry cheesecake flavor was divine! I have to say, the crusts for all of these pies were flaky and buttery. Sloppy Joe was my least favorite and a bit too tangy for my liking. Overall, these pies lived up to the hype and are the best fried pies I've ever had. Get there early or call ahead, otherwise you might miss out on tasting the flavors you crave!

Visiting from California and in Hot Springs for the day. Came across this gem while looking for lunch. Great reviews so we stopped and I do not regret it but get here early if you want meat pies cause we missed out. But the fruit fried pies are to DIE for!

We got a cherry, peach, Natchitoches, and chicken pie here. We stopped by around 1pm and they were running low on pies so make sure to come by early because they can sell out. The savory pies were seasoned well and the fruit pies were sweet. The pie crust was light and flakey. Would recommend these if you are in the area.

Rain or shine, we wanted those pies.

Love this place! The savory pies are delicious. We were only visiting but went here the day before we left and got the Natchitoches, empanada, enchilada, German chocolate, oatmeal cream, and pecan cheesecake pies. They were all amazing. Our favorites were the Natchitoches and empanada and the oatmeal cream and pecan cheesecake. It was so delicious we visited again this morning before driving out of town. We got the same four we loved but also tried the chicken pot pie. I enjoyed all of them very much. They stuff them full and the crust is so flavorful and crispy. The service was amazing as everyone we talked to was very friendly. I highly recommend visiting this place at least once.

Tonight I just didn't feel like cooking. The power had been out the better part of the day and I was craving something yummy and quick. I've driven past Senshi Hibachi Express for 11 months on a multitude of occasions and never had an opportunity to stop. Tonight was the night Egged on by the employees from the Honda dealership next-door who raved about everything they've ever eaten there, I decided to give it a whirl and went with her steak and shrimp combo. I should've taken a picture *before I began devouring it*, but I was wildly and pleasantly surprised when the sweet lady who waited on me, asked how I wanted my steak cooked. Really? This is a food truck, I really didn't expect much of a steak, but when it showed up the steak was perfectly medium rare and really nice quality meat. There were four huge shrimp that were at least two bites a piece, 20+ juicy flavorful bites of steak and with the rice and stirfry vegetables the flavor explosion was rounded out with their exceptional yummy sauce. I don't know what's in that stuff but it's like crack, and this was a heck of a deal! Not only that, but this is some of the best Asian influenced food that I've had in quite some time. Moist, delicious and loaded with flavor. I know I'm going to butcher the lady's name that works the food truck, but I believe it's Ariani ? Either way, be sure and stop in there, say hello and fill your empty belly to overflowing while satisfying your taste buds because I guarantee you will not be disappointed

First let's start off with saying that this is a food truck in a food truck yard and there's outdoor seating ONLY. We came and order some dinners with some friends and we noticed that the line wasn't very long so we didn't anticipate a very long wait. But it was also 20 degrees at night so we decided to wait in the car. He told us he will call us when the food is ready or text us. So..... One hour and 30 minutes goes by... and NO FOOD. We kept checking in and he kept giving us the runaround and he won't give us a refund so we kept waiting... but we were very frustrated and "hangry" at this point. When we finally got the food we found out that he gave our food to someone else. We figured it out. Because he messed up our phone number. There is only ONE person working. But to focus back on the food. I really don't know what the hype is because the food tasted super salty and it wasn't delicious at all. It wasn't really hibachi it was more like fried rice cooked with some vegetables in teriyaki seasoning with meat. I was so sad and hungry. Please don't waste your money if you're expecting a authentic hibachi experience or taste. Or even just delicious food.
