Morrisons is no longer open. They had a great deli with pizza. Someone plans to open it again soon.

Their chicken gizzards were always my favorite as a kid! They've been around for ages and I hope to see them around even longer!

After renting an ATV at BAC a few doors down, we met a cute little dude. He overheard us discussing…read morelunch and he said, "Go to my restaurant!" We giggled, but he was SERIOUS! So we walked a few businesses away and discovered The Broken Axle. We were quickly seated and provided menus and discovered, it IS his restaurant, he's AXLE! Hilarious. We met his mom and dad who are the owners. My group of five ordered various items. Tacos, a hamburger, sliders, a chicken wrap and the fried buffalo chicken mac wrap. Along with our mains we had various sides; chips, fries, onion rings and Tetris shaped tater tots. With the amount of variety I fully expected a delay in receiving our order. NOPE!! All the food arrived at the same time and everyone's meals were hot! We all agree that this was the favorite meal of our road trip. We found out later that they sponsor a yearly music concert with headline names!! WOW! This year is Joe Nichols. Fantastic.

I had seen several posts on Facebook about The 1910, Logan's new fine dining restaurant, and with…read moreour anniversary coming up, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to try it out. We arrived around 7:00 p.m. The space itself is absolutely beautiful -- the tile floors and gold ceiling give it a classy, elegant atmosphere. Unfortunately, while the setting was lovely, the dining experience didn't quite live up to the expectations that come with fine dining prices. When we were first seated, our table rocked back and forth so much that it was distracting. After about fifteen minutes, I finally asked if we could move. Our server was friendly and quickly accommodated us at another table she had just cleaned off, which I appreciated. For our appetizer, we ordered the Loaded Logan Fries. They came out in about 20 minutes -- a fair wait time. The fries were more of a curly fry style, topped with cheese, bacon, and green onions, and served with a ranch-style dipping sauce. They weren't bad, but they weren't great either -- just okay. They looked very oily, but surprisingly didn't taste greasy. Overall, decent, but not something I'd order again. During dinner, there was a man playing the piano and singing. He was talented, but for such a small space, the volume was quite loud. It made conversation difficult, and when he stopped playing, it became so quiet that it felt awkward to talk at a normal level. About 20 minutes after finishing our appetizer, our entrées arrived. My husband ordered The 1910 Steak (flat iron steak) with a baked potato. The steak was sliced and topped with chimichurri, but unfortunately, it wasn't hot -- barely room temperature. He said the flavor was good, but for the price, a lukewarm steak is disappointing. The baked potato was fine, just served simply with a side cup of butter. I ordered the evening special -- a filet with truffle and shallot butter served with lobster mac and cheese. At $67, I was expecting perfection. I ordered my steak medium, but it arrived rare to medium-rare. I can eat medium-rare, but this was closer to rare. The "truffle butter" honestly looked more like ketchup, and I couldn't taste any truffle or shallot flavor. The lobster mac and cheese was the best part of the meal -- creamy and flavorful -- though the lobster seemed to just be placed on top rather than mixed in, which was fine because I wasn't a huge fan of the lobster anyway. Our server was attentive and kind, checking on us several times, but overall, the pacing, food temperature, and presentation didn't match what I'd expect from a fine dining experience -- especially considering the price point. If the prices were lower, I'd be more forgiving, but when you're spending that much for two meals, you expect everything to be spot-on -- hot food, accurate cooking temperatures, and polished presentation. The 1910 has a beautiful atmosphere and potential, but they still have quite a few details to refine before it feels like true fine dining.
