I've had so many memories of some of the staff helping me pick out frames and providing an outside opinion! I recently had an exam with Dr. Laschen, and she was fantastic. I'm not someone who likes to talk a lot during any type of appointment, and it seemed like she was quick to pick up on that. I was in and out in a breeze. When I picked up my glasses today, the staff were super understanding of how specific I like my glasses to fit and were able to nearly replicate the shape of my old glasses.

I came here and paid for my sons eye appointment because our vision center had extremely long wait…read moretimes for appointments. Initially I was impressed with the fact they could get us in within a couple of days. Took my son for an exam for contacts and glasses. We picked out the frames and he was sent home with trial sample contacts. Found out a few days later they weren't finished with his exam? I was told by the incredibly rude optician that the doctor noted were not allowed to order glasses due to the fact we left prior to the end of the exam. Excuse me? What!? So she dilated his eyes and we paid for everything and they WATCHED us leave without saying anything. So we had paid for an appt for no reason and then we're denied the right to his Rx.. as a side note I'm a RN and happen to know this is not legal nor is the dilation of pupils REQUIRED to obtain your Rx. The staff was rude as all h*ll, unhelpful and completely disowning of their own mistake. We ended up going back the next week for his follow up appointment for the contacts and then I was "allowed" to order glasses then but only after being delayed over a week. Never got a response from management or anyone regarding my complaint. The people are just plain rude. I would not go here again.

My husband has had poor vision his whole life and claims that Dr. Hall actually improved his vision with the newest prescription he gave him. I also enjoyed chatting with him and gaining knowledge from his wisdom on a number of subjects! I appreciated him actually adjusting and fitting the glasses to my face which made me tend to wear them more as wearing glasses is still not second nature to me.

He has been cooking professionally since the 1970s, and now he owns the Lake Geneva School of Cooking, and teaches hands-on classes for groups and corporate events. I visited with a group of nine people, and we all had a great time. Chef John and his assistants greeted us with a mimosa, and then explained what we'd be doing: help to create a three-course lunch for everyone. Our lunch consisted of a mushroom soup, a beet salad and a baked cinnamon apple topped with ice cream for dessert. Chef John is very much a believer in cooking with the seasons, so the menu will change depending on when you visit. He gets a lot of his produce from the local Lake Geneva farmers market, and other food items from local merchants. Our group split up and tackled one aspect of the meal. I was with the mushroom soup group, and for the most part, the soup was prepared, we just had to put the finishing touches on it and make some cheese croutons to go on top. I would have loved to do a little more of the prep work and cooking, to be honest. But not everyone in my group was as comfortable with cooking as I was. That's the thing with these classes, though: Whether you have a lot of experience with cooking or a little, the classes are informative and approachable, and focus on fun and food. The kitchen that we worked in was well equipped and clean, with lots of room to move around. The kitchen assistants were college kids who were culinary students, which was cool. After we prepared our meal, we all sat down and enjoyed it in the big dining room. Each course was paired with wine. And the best part: The food was delicious! Yay, us! And yay for Chef John, who conducted a wonderful class that ended with a fabulous meal.

After two years of coming back in forth to this comic book store, I have had the privilege to see…read morehow Tryke, the manager of Comic Alley, interacts with customers of all ages. Tryke displays the enjoyment of sharing comic knowledge to all his customers and he educates them on the excitement of comic book stories. When you arrive in the lower level of this store, you may notice the number of comics, toys and misc. items crammed across limited floor space but let me tell you, this is what makes it exciting. Your eyes will wander with the possibility of a comic surprise that you discover during your visit . One advice I learned over the years is to always ask Tryke if you have any questions on comics or just looking for that one item you cannot find. You will then understand why this local comic book store and the manager who runs it will always be my stop over when visiting Lake Geneva. Support this local comic store and as you walk down the stairs to the surprise at the bottom, say hello to Tryke, take your time in wandering through the comic abyss that awaits you, and more importantly...enjoy!

The person who wrote the above review was blatantly untruthful. The clerk asked for ID as is UPS…read morepolicy when picking up packages. This was their second attempt to try to pick up the package in two days without an ID. The male was disrespectful to the clerk and threatened to call the police if he didn't get the package. The male did call the police after his threats were not budging the clerk from following UPS policy. It states right in the UPS email to bring an ID. I am thankful that Delavan has people like this clerk who follows the rules and won't back down. It's a quick and easy pickup of packages as long as you bring an ID. I have never been treated with anything but respect and helpfulness when I have gone to the store. I did see the video and this store did nothing wrong. Shame on people who try to slander an honest business who follows policy.
