We were in town for spring break so we wanted to drop by and check it out. We arrived on a Thursday early evening. Red Rocks Amphitheater is located 10 miles southwest of Denver in the beautiful town of Morrison, CO. Parking is accessible all around the amphitheater. There was no concert scheduled that night. We were hoping to catch the sunset but unfortunately we missed it. The lighting was still great for pictures though. We parked by the Upper South Lot. From there it was a moderate 10 minute walk to the south ramp of the venue. During the walk the views of the valley is stunning. Once we made it inside the outdoor amphitheater, I was in awe of the beauty and ambiance of the Red Rocks amphitheater. The majestic backdrop of the red rocks was definitely something I have never seen before for a concert venue. It was unique and beautiful. We were able to start from the bottom of the stage area and make our way to the top. It was a nice workout climbing up the seats steps. From the top, the different angle view of the amphitheater and backdrop was amazing as well. Overall we enjoyed our time exploring Red Rocks amphitheater. It was a one of a kind experience. Unfortunately the visitor center was closed and we did not see a live concert at the venue. We hope to be back again so we can attend a concert.

I was expecting to see more seed/bulb/flower companies, garden tools, garden equipment, garden art, garden software products NOT the row after row after row of Window, Siding, Roof, Solar and Cement contractors with an occasional turf, landscaper. I'm glad we at least went on a 2 for 1 price day but still felt it was a waste of money to make the 1+ hours drive to see so few garden exhibits. Either focus on Garden or rename it the Home & Garden Show.

My boyfriend had the porter and enjoyed it as well. After we had our drinks, we picked out the most perfect tree for our home. It was a bit pricier than one at something like Lowe's or Home Depot, but I'd pay it again & again for the experience we had. The owner Tom helped us saw the tree, tie it to our car, and even thanked us for coming in with a coffee mug to take home. Seriously I will always support small businesses like these. Wow, my yesterday's visit to this historic park was so mesmerizing. It's because of their annual…read more(?) "Bright Nights" (originally a lantern festival.) It is said that they unveil a brand new theme each year and this year's theme appears to be focused on some Eastern cultures such as cherry blossom and bamboo forest with pandas. Not that I have been to many lights shows and yet I must say that I have never seen anything quite like this as far as my recollection is accurate. In its 12-acre land, the installations of lantern lights are everywhere. After 8:30pm or so when it's dark, the illuminations from the lanterns are glowing brighter than Las Vegas' illuminations (LOL - why am I comparing this to Las Vegas!!) According to the park's website, some of the sculptures are 23-foot tall (such as the cherry blossom gate.) It's currently open from Wednesday through Sunday until October 5th. And last night's was one of the adult-only nights where you must be 21+ to enter (I believe the next and last such night is Sept 17th. And this writing is as of late August of 2025.) I am already curious as to what the next year's theme is going to be. There is a centralized bar, some food vendors, a stage where a performer performs, and a DJ booth. Great for family time, girls' night or date night. Helpful staff were working tirelessly to assist all visitors. Although about 1,300 tickets were sold last night, it was never super jammed packed. There is still time to visit this enchanting light show. Not only for the locals but definitely one of the must-visit attractions for out-of-staters as well.

Recently went to the Bright Lights event at this park and had a wonderful experience walking around…read morethe luminous colorful tall lanterns. Every inch of the 12 acres had lights and even in the trees and bushes. So many details that it seemed realistic. Many of the lanterns were interactive such as stationary bikes or cranks to power the lights to glow even brighter. The staff were friendly and happy to help. This event is for young and old and I highly recommend going!

However, my son didn't enjoy the cold trek through knee-deep snow, so we resumed what had been a tradition and went back to Lakewood last weekend. Much of what we liked remains in 2025: Friendly staff, wide selection of trees, free hot chocolate/donuts, the layout on a mini-golf course, and having our tree secured to the car for us. Some things have changed: 1. These trees are Taxed to the Max. We were very fortunate to find a small, but suitable tree without financing. 2. Mini-golf used to be free. Major perk. It's why my son insists on coming here. It's now $8 to include the challenges of seasonal ice. Fake trees have been anathema to me since childhood, but look like the future for our family barring a winning Powerball ticket. Everything costs more these days, I get it. Charging $8 for icy mini golf that was previously free? I think we're done here.
