I reached some guy named John, probably the owner. He was outside on a cell phone and I could hardly hear him. He mentioned something about a $99 service call and then began to tell me that they hate to fix ice makers because they always get call backs on them. He then told me a new ice maker will cost $235. I set up an appointment to meet him at the rental property. A few hours later, I called back to get a clarifiaction on the total cost of this job. I left a voice mail message asking if the $235 charge included the $95 service call fee. Later that afternoon, I was told about a nasty mssage left on our company phone number from Southold Appliance. This is what the guy (John) from Southold Appliance said: You asked if the $235 includes the $95 fee . . . NO !, He then proceeds to say that in addition to the $235, it cost $125 to install the part. He then says: "If I'm going to ask dumb questions . . . I'm not your guy". "We are NOT coming there on the 18th" ! ! He then slams down the phone. This company purchased the phone number from Grabie Repair Service, who were a pleasure to deal with. Another repair company with a bad rep is Lighthouse Repair who just happens to have the SAME phone number. STAY AWAY ! !
