(No problem paying for a quality product, but this felt different) After finalizing the fabric choice, style, size and other details (including the stitching and legs) the price was provided. The price was much higher than expected and I asked as to why it was that high and not the price as discussed on prior visits. Was initially told $5250 for the sofa, then $1800 for leather, plus HST. The final price ended up being well over $8000. When I asked if the price can do any better - the staff member advised that they already did the best that he could. I advised that this is over the expected $8000 price. I requested to think about it, as I would not immediately have the additional funds at this point he offered to split the delivery fee ($150). That was quite a surprise, as he had previously just advised me, multiple times, that he could not adjust the price at all. At this point I requested to not the order number as I would have to seriously consider whether or not the sofa would be purchased. At this point the salesman simply got up and started about his business in the showroom, completely ignoring me and not even acknowledging my departure. The chance of purchasing the item has certainly now lessened after the treatment of the sales staff. A call has been placed with the owner (Bill) to discuss the issue and we will see how it will be addressed - but at this point it certainly is clear that this staff member (and possibly the company) needs to learn to to treat customers with honesty and respect. Hopefully the owner responds to the concerns and he is not the reason that his staff treat perspective customers (not sure how likely that is now) in this manner. Quite shameful the way they acted. I would certainly not send my parents to their shop based on this experience. Will update after / if the owner calls to address what occurred. Certainly hope that they do - it would clearly indicate the true customer service level of the company.

I then contacted Zilli and explained the situation. They took the time to listen and arranged a phone call with Deco Rest on my behalf. As a result, Deco Rest provided me with an RMA number and told me to bring the sofa to the factory -- and they would fix it for free. I was honestly impressed. Zilli went above and beyond to help me, even though I wasn't a paying customer. Because of this outstanding service, my next sofa purchase will definitely be with Zilli. Great service -- thank you!

I'm sure I drove him crazy each and every time as it takes me forever to pick a fabric, but he's so patient and guides me along until I reduce the varibles down to a manageable number and ended up with the perfect fabric. Both my couches have curved backs and even with a very unforgiving fabric they looked great each time. He also changes out the legs and made them look much more modern. It's so great to completely trust the process and know you'll have a perfect job done.

This was especially frustrating because he had originally emphasized how his service was better than other stores. That clearly was not the case. He also claimed he no longer carries Deco Rest, yet the brand was still featured on his website and in his promotional emails. My sofa was even displayed there. After I posted my review, he called me asking me to remove it. Reviews exist so customers can share honest experiences. I decided to move on and went directly to Zilli, another retailer that carries Deco Rest. The difference was night and day. Zilli arranged a call with Deco Rest, helped me obtain an RMA number, and Deco Rest agreed to repair the sofa free of charge if I bring it to the factory. That's what real customer service looks like. Zenlia could have handled this properly but chose not to. Because of that, they have earned this review.

Service was excellent and Kathy was so wonderful and helpful. We recently moved into a condo and we needed to buy new furniture. Without a second thought, we went directly to Zenlia. Again, Kathy was incredible. She helped us with style, colors, fabric, design. All of our furniture was custom made . We bought a sectional couch, an ottoman, dining room table with 8 chairs, a bench, bar stools and a head board. it is all very well made and we are very pleased. we would not hesitate to recommend zenlia . Besides Kathy, Raj was also very pleasant to deal with.

The material we used was stripes, which is a bit more difficult since the stripes need to look consistent and to match on the top and bottom. We had the chairs back within a couple of weeks. The chairs were pricey, but consistent with other quotes we got. (if anything, a bit cheaper than other places) Also, most of the upholsterers we talked to required us to find our own material, whereas Doug has a decent selection on site. Overall we were very pleased.

Doug Green was the salesperson and he was very knowledgeable and helpful. The estimate was very reasonable compared to others that I contacted. The work took approximately 6 weeks which was also very reasonable. The upholstery work itself was well done and I was happy with the overall results. I have been using the furniture now for more than 2 years and am satisfied with the fabric quality. The estimate reflected exactly the final price which was a thrill since I have since had a very poor experience with another company for a smaller job that cost twice as much in the end. I have two cautions. The new fabric was attached to my sofa and armchair frames in such a manner that there are now gaps at the corners between the frame and fabric of the arms that were not present in the original furniture. Also, the wood trim on the living room furniture was reattached in a sloppy way - finishing nails showing and mitred corners not nicely aligned. The other concern I have is that ones possessions will not be unloaded from the delivery truck until a cheque for the full amount outstanding is handed over. Once I had my furniture back and in my house, I noticed the flaws in the workmanship. I didn't follow up since I felt the price was reasonable and no one else notices the gaps or nails or unmitred corners unless I point it out. However, I believe that this reflects the overall quality and attention to detail of the company. I don't think furniture should be held ransom until full payment is received. If the company cares about their reputation, they should make sure a customer is satisfied before demanding full payment.
