I shop at the nearby Albertsons and recently received a mailer for Highbrook Way Dental, so I decided to pop in before grocery shopping. I was greeted with smiles all around by the three gals at the front office. Everyone was kind and pleasant, and the reception area was bright, clean, and welcoming. I liked it enough to book my first appointment for the following week. I provided my insurance information and asked them to email me my insurance breakdown. At my appointment, I was seen promptly. My hygienist was amazing, thorough, and made me feel very comfortable. She took my X-rays, measured my pockets -- all good there! -- and gave me a great cleaning. Afterward, I met the dentist, who also had a wonderful chairside manner. He reviewed my chart and said everything looked great. My only note is that I had mentioned I prefer cleanings every 3-4 months and am willing to pay out of pocket if insurance doesn't cover it, but upon checkout I was scheduled for six months out. Maybe I wasn't clear, so I'll follow up. Either way, I really loved my visit and look forward to my next one. Also, the back office was just as immaculate as the front -- not a dust bunny in sight! Location was easy to find and I was really impressed how clean the place was when we visited today. Staff members were all polite, helpful and respectful. I don't know anything about dental equipment but everything looked nice, modern, and clean. There is also a refreshment area which I thought was pretty cool (I made a nice cup of coffee during the short wait). I think the price was very reasonable considering they did clean my daughter's teeth, and Dr. Baird was able to persuade my nervous daughter to pull that stubborn baby tooth. What a relief! I knew my daughter will most likely just tolerate/ignore the discomfort because she's very scared of dental work but Dr. Baird was genuine and thoughtful that my daughter agreed to have the tooth pulled today. I am quite surprised that there has been no other previous review from this clinic so after our visit today, I decided to write this one review because I think everybody at the clinic truly rocked, and I appreciate how warmly they treated my daughter and I. I've had one visit and the people were very friendly. The front desk and getting checked in was a very good experience and she was quite lovely. I felt I got good care although I felt I did need to advocate for myself on a few minor things. I didn't want them polishing my teeth before the hygienist had completed her scaling. It is not a good practice to polish teeth before all the plaque has been removed. They have quite a few staff members that do different things. They have two hygienist and then they have assistance that do the polishing. You can request having one person do the scaling and the polishing, but they can only accommodate that on certain days due to the lack of staffing?? So for my next visit, I will have one person do it all. They were quite accommodating. I think I'm scheduled with a different dentist for my next visit. I think I will see her and see how I like her. She is newer in her career, but I feel I might like to give her a shot. The jury is still out for me. I'll update in 6 months.
