I liked the reviews, Dr. Scott looked kind in his picture and the office staff was nice and helpful when I called their office. My appointment went very well. Teresa, the Hygienist was very thorough and did an excellent job. She explained everything and I was actually comfortable. When finished with my cleaning I went to another room where I met Amanda and Dr. Scott. I had a thorough examination. Dr. Scott was kind, explained everything and he was not "pushy" and he was very patient and polite. At no point during the appointment was I rushed through. After my cleaning, exam and consultation I met with Stephanie. She gave me a printout of everything I need to complete with my dental work. There was nothing added and no surprises with any of Dr. Scott's recommendations. I was somewhat apprehensive about going to a new dentist since I had been with my previous dentist for 34 years. I found Dr. Scott's office to be comfortable, warm and inviting. The staff was welcoming and helpful. I feel sure I got lucky to find this office on my first try. I found Dr.Scott and his staff to be professional AND honest.

Short: Dr Trejo and the team at the Eagle location are absolutely wonderful and incredibly ethical. Call Now. Long: It was the Thursday before Memorial day weekend and I had been preparing a veggie tray for a party. I had heard one odd crunch but, ya know carrots, whatever. Until it was time for bed. I brushed and had an increasing ache. I thought for sure I must have cracked a tooth! I was in a near panic. I might have to wait until Monday? Would I get an infection? Lose a tooth? I found a place in town that opened at 6:30AM and you can bet I was there - only to find out the DR wouldn't be taking appointments until 1:30PM, MAYBE I could get looked at today but I was told "The next appointment to TRY to fix it would be June 22!?" "Try?" People go a month with a cracked tooth? All I could think was that would be an infection for sure! In a panic I went home and started calling everyone - then (and I wish I knew her name!) a lovely admin at the Emerald location said they were closed but there was an appointment at the Eagle location in an hour. She said she would call and tell them I was on my way and would likely be late (Now I know everyone says it's "only 45 min to Boise" but apparently I drive slow? ) Can I tell you these people are the NICEST, like Trader Joe's nice! Every last one of them, from the lady who saw me at the wrong door, let me in and walked me through the office because the back door is in the front (What?! LOL! Don't whip in and park closest to Eagle like I did, go past there then around to the left.) The ladies in the waiting room to the hygienist who took my x rays and got me settled in. Everyone was so upbeat and friendly. Then I met Dr Trejo. He was incredibly kind. And it was at that moment that I learned you can BRUISE a tooth. Did you know that? Is this common knowledge? Sure, logical, teeth have nerves too but I struggled to believe him, LOL! Don't tell him but I googled it in the car, I really thought maybe he was just trying to help me not feel dumb. Of course I was equally relieved and so embarrassed. (Again, it's me feeling dumb all on my own they were so very kind) I happily paid that $150 thanking my lucky stars because how much is a crown? Sure enough it ached for the next day or two but it's fine now. Also, I should mention if you do not have dental insurance they have a $33 a month plan and it does give an additional 20% off any additional work. One question still stands out in my mind, "what do you expect from your dentist"? My reply is simple; integrity & honesty. My appointment was for a routine cleaning & checkup. The office staff in the Boise office were standard practice courteous enough, thank you. The cleaning was surprisingly done by Dr Garren Riggers, a licensed dentist, not a Hygienist. He didn't clean the teeth as most hygienists do & I feel he skipped a few steps. The feel of my teeth afterwards was subpar. Toward the end, he ask if I wanted a Fluoride treatment to which I denied as both Grant Dental & myself knew my insurance wouldn't cover it, otherwise a $54 out of pocket expense. So when I received a service coverage notice from the insurance claiming they paid a portion [Correction: Denied payment but restricted Grant Dental in charges associated with the procedure] of the Fluoride treatment I was very much taken aback. Grant Dental is losing focus on their Core Values, billing the insurance companies for services not rendered is considered double dipping. In my mind it's simply dishonest & thievery. So much for integrity & honesty. When they sent me a bill for the other $26 & change I was aghast & so disappointed in the blatant dishonesty, cheating, & theft they are practicing on unsuspecting clientele. They know there's little that can be done to stop them & apparently a standard practice from my research. To me, (this is the practice of) thieves, cheats, & liars & if these are the types of people Dr Scott Grant hires & allows in his office, calling it his "christian" way, I don't want anything to do with them. To any reading this, if you wish to frequent Grant Dental, keep a close eye on your bills & best of luck to you. Update: Grant Dental agreed to dismiss the $26+ charge on my account however, I have yet to know if they will repent of their ways. Billing is separate from the offices in which the dental procedures are completed so there is a disconnect. The clerical staff in the offices are not to be blamed for the ill-mannered billing procedures, this lies solely with the billing coordinator & finance manager. However, if the treatment was reported to billing from the office I visited, Dr Riggers knew the Fluoride treatment was denied by me so why was the treatment reported to billing? It may not have been reported in which case it would stand to reason billing automatically places Fluoride treatment on every bill sent out. In conclusion then, either way there is a dishonest practice happening within the walls of Grant Dental.
