Aside from this I have learned creating balance in my life will help me remain sober. I am very impressed by CenterWell Senior Primary Care's Capital Blvd location. I learned of this…read morelocation when attending a community day event. I recently brought my mother to live with me who is 70. I was seeking more comprehensive patient care as a caregiver to someone with dementia. CenterWell delivered. Our first visit was impressive! This location is excellent. This is one of the best looking primary care facilities I've visited. Very warm, bright, immaculately clean and inviting. The reception staff greeted us at the door upon arrival. Latisha was excellent assisting us with a warm welcome and helpful information for other resources. We met with Nana Addai who took her time meeting with us and asking questions. The medical assistant was phenomenal as well. They treated my mom with respect and provided a comprehensive assessment for memory testing and checked her feet. Many providers have skipped this in the past. As a patient with diabetes, this is crucial. Mom received a senior goodie bag after her visit. With a ton of helpful resources for seniors. This site is equipped with snacks and a cute coffee station. We were grateful for the Green Mountain hazelnut k-cups, Skinny Pop and Kind granola. This isn't something doctor's offices offer typically. After her assessment, she completed lab work and we joined the Fitness Friday Chair Exercise class in the activity room. This class was high energy !!! The instructor was excellent and the women attending the class seem to have formed a community of regulars. It is excellent that they go above and beyond providing this program for seniors in the community. I appreciate the staff offering outside resources. I highly recommend CenterWell and Humana as an insurance company.

Center Well Senior Primary Care, at 3901 Capital Blvd, isn't any better than most other Primary…read moreCare Physician's Offices, as a matter of fact, they're worst. Beginning from the top, with the less proficient education of their doctor, LaToya Fulton. Unless a patient is naïve and/or oblivious, the medical incompetence is obvious throughout this practice. Their lack of available doctors makes it more difficult to treat their patients in a timely manner. That's one reason why they're not a reliable medical practice, especially for seniors. During my 6 months, their patient portal never worked, Dr. Fulton wouldn't prioritize my cold symptoms enough to schedule me in to see her, so I had no other choice but to call a more professional, competent, and compassionate medical practice. Although previously, I saw Dr. Fulton's PA, and she stated in her visitation summary that my pain started weeks ago, when actually, I told her it returned weeks ago but started a year ago. Details are important, although you'll never know they know this. Unfortunately, I relied on them again, even though I hadn't heard back from Dr. Fulton previously. This so-called medical practice is dangerous, because it's the total opposite of what it portrays itself to be. You'll be better off using Duke, UNC, or Wake Med. All three have working portals and their doctors won't ignore you when you need them most. I started to take Dr. Fulton's ignorance and incompetence personally, but I realized that subjugated people like her have their own agendas. Obviously, she can't differentiate being blessed from being cursed, which I should've taken into consideration when we first met. In ALL of my years CenterWell has to be the most medically dysfunctional practice and it need to be discontinued before they're sued for medical malpractice.

Shared room with shared bathroom, little privacy, often difficult to sleep and awakened at 5:30 am to make sure the night shift can get patients ready for therapy before the day shift arrives. Food generally not good; some residents order food delivered. Administrator was rude at check in after not explaining all of the facility policies to me. Discharge planner referred me to a home health agency, Amedysis, that is not in the UNC system, which is odd for a UNC hospital. This agency apparently cannot access my doctors' records re: my rehabilitation goals through UNC MyChart. If you are a UNC patient, ask lots of questions before agreeing to referral to Amedysis.

Duke Specialty Rehab Services Midtown features some of the worst customer service and most…read morebelligerent staff, from front desk, to therapists, and management I've ever seen or experienced. Every visit to this office has been a battle and uphill climb. Front desk staff badger and harass clients and are offensively aggressive and unfriendly about social distancing enforcement. If you are even one minute late you are usually turned away and laughed at and made fun of behind your back by the front desk staff (I watched firsthand and listened to their commentary as someone was turned away after pleading their case with an impassive complement of front desk staff). Therapists make faces, roll their eyes, and sigh when dealing with patients that may have medical issues or need more time. I have seen therapists be downright rude, berating and yelling at clients and family members, taking their personal issues and grievances out on those in their care. The general climate and reception one receives at this office is one of apathy and disdain. When further input or follow up is requested from management about issues with therapists or front desk staff, there is no phone call or response. No action is taken to find out what the issues are and/or make things better. Yes, we are in the midst of a pandemic but there is no need to be rude, unhappy, and unpleasant because of it across all levels of staff. If front desk, therapy, and management dislike their areas of practice to this extent, perhaps they would best be served by considering a radical career change. It's unnecessary to make an already trying time that much worse. For the office's management and beyond that for Duke to not even acknowledge, communicate about, or address problems at this location seems unconscionable. If I had a choice, not only would I not receive care at any other Duke-affiliated provider but I would research and carefully consider other locations and their reviews for physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Having to go though difficulty because of a health event and needing therapy is bad enough without having to contend with unfriendly staff with what seems like embedded ill will. The quality of care suffers when caregivers harbor and promote a negative environment. It makes it that much more difficult to trust providers and feel safe. It makes a time when you are vulnerable worse and is a counterproductive stumbling block to healing and recovery. I can't recommend more strongly that you seek your care and a better patient experience elsewhere. Unfortunately--in spite of the Duke name and unless you are a "good" patient with minimal therapy needs that arrives half an hour to an hour before your appointment and follows social distancing guidelines perfectly in spite of any cognitive or other deficits you are experiencing due to your injury/health event--you will not find it here.
