From very nicely maintained and rather spacious dog parks, walking trails and tennis/pickle ball to a beautiful pool (closed for the winter of course), ping pong and billiards.. more than enough to keep an active guy like my pops (or me) very happy. My absolute favorite part is the sauna. I'm used saunas at big box gyms, where there is usually at least three or four other people in there with you.. so it was nice to have the entire thing to myself as I meditated and enjoyed the moment. It is the beginning of winter so it seems that most residents probably have traveled down to warmer climates for the season, so that's no surprise there. For those who kayak, they even have convenient kayak storage located along the entrance of the main parking lot. What's very cool about the condo is its location. It's a mere 5 minutes from the heart of Lenox and is very centrally located to all major stores, parks, and lakes. If anyone reading this is ever considering moving up to The Berkshires and wants a place where all maintenance and upkeep is taken care for you, I would highly suggest checking for units at The Rolling Hills Condominiums!

In my opinion, the Kimball Towers Condominiums are some of the best condos in Western Massachusetts…read more-- certainly, some of the most interesting, historically, and in terms of current residents. Although it's called "towers," the Kimball is just one building that wraps around in a "U" shape. As of 2011, it's mostly owner-occupied; however, sometimes a condo owner rents one out on Craigslist. During the new millennium, as Springfield's Metro Center became more popular, the Kimball became a trendy residence for bohemians, artists, LGBTs, and empty-nesters -- people looking for an urban lifestyle without the high cost. History: Built in 1910 and opened in 1911 as The Hotel Kimball, the red-brick, neo-classical building was once advertised as "Western Massachusetts finest hotel." On its opening in 1911, it was reviewed by the New York Times as "ranking with the finest [hotels] in the country. A magnificent hotel, modern and metropolitan in every appointment." In 1920, the Hotel Kimball became famous as the site of the United States' first-ever commercial radio station, (WBZ AM & FM, which later moved to Boston.) The hotel was used by the radio station as an attraction to lure top talent. U.S. Presidents FDR and JFK stayed at the Kimball as guests, as did many famous actors and foreign dignitaries. The Hotel Kimball was the first "grand" hotel purchased by Sheraton Hotels and Resorts. For many years, this building was known as the Sheraton-Kimball Hotel. There are secret gardens and hallways in the building -- there's a lot of unique and historic detail that intellectually-curious people will find interesting. For example, the Kimball still features a grand lobby and large ballroom with a balcony overlooking a hardwood dance floor. During the early 1980s, a condominium developer bought the Kimball, with the intention of turning it into "Springfield's premier condominium address." Unfortunately, in the late 1980s, he filed for bankruptcy after completing only part of the renovation, (the top 3 floors,) citing the project's exorbitant costs. The developer later went to jail. During the 1990s, people bought condos in the Kimball for small, speculative amounts because it was thought that the building might be demolished; however, it was one of five buildings protected by the Apremont Triangle Historic District. In the new millenium, the Kimball became financially steady once it found stable management. Since then, residents have renovated former Hotel Kimball features like the Pickwick Lounge off the Grand Lobby, (the latter looks almost exactly as it did on its opening in 1911.) Currently, the Kimball's creative residents use it for art exhibitions, music, and lectures.

They also have discounted lift tickets - $130pp on the weekends and $60 pp during the week, which saves you a lot of money versus getting them directly on Windhams website. The rooms are a typical mountain house stay. We chose to upgrade to the condo to have a kitchen area. The balcony was a nice surprise! The only downside is when you first check in, the room is extremely freezing. House keeping doesn't leave the heat on. Also the main heat vent was slow and felt weak, but we noticed there was a manually heater that we can turn on that was on the wall near the kitchen. The hotel was about a 5 minute drive to the slopes and a couple minutes to downtown. If I come back I'll definitely stay here again!

The staff at the Winwood are professional and extremely welcoming. We enjoyed the outdoor heated saltwater swimming pool. Unit # 233 was charming with a view of Windham mountain.

Lived at Northern Pass for 1+ year during Covid, and it was a positive experience. Good location…read moreand construction of the units. Heather and Elaine are leasing professionals. Repairs attended to immediately by Rivan who was such a big help. Landscaping impeccable. Never had to shovel snow. Clubroom and facilities are nice as location off I-9. Only major issue regarded my neighbors' smoking patterns. They often smoked from their patio, which regularly kept me from my own patio. Also had to keep my windows shut as allergic to smoke and to keep the smell out of my own unit. When the weather was nice and I wanted to get fresh air, would have preferred that they did not smoke on the patio, and would have preferred more time enjoying my own backyard. Northern Pass already has a no smoking policy for inside the unit, but I hope Rosetti management considers amending further to fully adopt a no-smoking policy for the entire property including patios. Much healthier and safer for residents. If needed, maybe designate a spot by the leasing office just for smokers. Smoking outside the unit still affects the ability for others like me who do not smoke to fully enjoy the residence.

Heating & cooling is very expensive, as the units are not well insulated, at least the first floor condos. So plan on paying high utility bills. Company still advertises new, yet the buildings were built around 2016. The grounds are more of a priority than the inside of the units. The carpets were professionally shampooed upon vacancy, and they still charged me a vacuuming fee. All floors were cleaned on exit, yet a mop & dusting fee was applied towards my security refund. If I knew they needed the $$ that bad, I probably would have vacated without doing any cleaning. We had to thoroughly clean the unit when we moved in, and we left it cleaner upon our exit, and still got knit picked for over a hundred dollars in fees. Water bill, a fee of over $200 was paid on 10/2/21, and upon closeout,(10/23/21), an additional $114 was deducted from my security deposit, for yet another water fee owed. There are at least two water bills per year, when you lease at Northern Pass location. Weekdays, there is staff present, weekends a different story. There are tenants literally using propane burners, cooking inside the garage. It was an unsafe atmosphere to be in at times, if you were close to this activity. Overall, not a positive or enjoyable experience. Hopefully, we will not be in a situation to lease again. If it ever did happen, I would not recommend this company or residence to lease from.
