For context my boyfriend and I decided to go golfing with his cousin and his girlfriend. We arrived about 20 minutes before our tee time, when entering the pro shop to check in and pay, the attendant was clearly not impressed that four 20 something year olds had booked at the "very prestigious" course. We were met with conversation about "how difficult this course is" and "it's extremely important to keep pace". All of this is normal, however he reinforced multiple times that we MUST keep pace and was repeating with a specific tone. As 2 members in our group left the pro shop to grab carts I was paying...he mentioned YET AGAIN how imperative it is to not lag behind and because I've never played here, he seemed very concerned. This all left a bad taste in my mouth but it gets better... after getting our cart I decided to use the rest room before starting out. After leaving the restroom the same pro shop attendant stopped me, "have you ever golfed before??" I said yes... as I golf regularly with my boyfriend (I happened to not have my clubs with me since I was visiting and not from the area). This was all followed by "well since you've never played here you really need to be on top of your timing" all of this while I was with the only other girl in our group. I'm not one to jump to conclusions but it was very clear that because I was a young woman who didn't appear like a professional I wasn't worthy of this course. I will NEVER play here again. Funny enough the entire round we were waiting for the groups infront of us because THEY were not keeping pace... While the course was pretty the overall experience was completely tainted by these interactions. Let's stop with the stereotypes and attitude! read more

Course in great shape. Staff was fine. We had sandwiches/burgers after and food was excellent. Gave the course 3 stars because....most cart paths are 30-50 yards from the greens, either a steep downhill or uphill walk. After a few holes, it's a grind. It would help if you could drive the carts closer to the green but they have installed stakes about 50 yards out and if you go around the stakes an alarm goes off in the cart. They need to figure out a way to make the course a little more user friendly. read more

Management, the club house official and cart girl were great. The course manager on the cart was very disrespectful. We were a tad behind pace and we knew it because we are a little inexperienced but the way he came up to us was very disrespectful and rude, will not be coming back. read more

3/3 with bad experiences with the staff at Morgan hill. Beautiful scenery, which gives it one star. Crab grass everywhere, very poorly kept. Rushed off the tee pad 2 weekends in a row while the group in front was in the fairway. They're just in it for the money, for a public course the staff thinks they manage a tour course. Maintained very well and the rain drained perfectly. This course has the most hills that I've ever played on. Very lucky if you have a flat footed shot. The starter and rangers (if they exist) didn't do a great job but very few courses manage the pace of play. The price was reasonable for 2021 golf. read more

Just added another star to this review as I played it again and all I can say is this track is awesome!!! How can a course be fair and unrelenting all at the same time??? Fairways = Perfect Greens = Impeccable Staff = Awesome You must be focused on every hole and every shot... Great Track!!! This course has always been on my must play list as I've heard it's pretty nice and you can also see #12 from 78, so it kinda calls you to play. Luckily the weather was nice enough (45-50 degrees) to allow us to play the day before Thanksgiving and all I can say is you better take a cart and be on your game when playing here. Although the course was in its winter mode, a little wet from the overnight rain and a stiff 2-3 club wind the fairways and greens we in great shape. I can't wait to come back in the Spring/Summer to see it in its glory. Only negatives I could say were the lack of yardage stakes/sprinkler head markers throughout the course but I think the carts have GPS monitors during good weather months and have been taken off the carts in the winter. Also, hole #12 was closed due to the overnight rain and the steepness of the cart path being too dangerous with wet leaves. New cart path design coming. All in all a great test of golf!!! read more

Love this course. It's not easy but it's fun, the staff is fantastic and it's very convenient. They are very welcoming and the pros are top-notch. Very nice people. In fact, they went above and beyond for me, a new member, when I had a friend in from the Midwest. Couldn't ask for a classier club. The only thing ugly on this course is my swing. And we're working on that. Although there's no range, the do have nets and two practice greens to get warmed up on. So it's just what I needed. It started when the cart died 50 feet from the clubhouse and the starter, Tyler, was a pain in the butt while trying to get a new one. Should've known then what lie ahead. Golf was fine for 6 holes or so, and then we apparently caught up to a large group of senior ladies doing a shotgun outing? Who does that mid-morning on a Saturday or allows that to be booked with tee times around it? Anyway, we had to call the clubhouse at 11 when we were the first of THREE groups of 3 or 4 waiting to tee off. That's when we were told of the event, and told the guy who came out was "the only one here" at 2pm on a Saturday. We bailed after 15 when we were again one of three groups waiting; it had taken almost two hours to play holes 11-15, and we had a dinner reservation at 6pm (6 1/2 hours after tee time) we weren't sure if we'd make. As we drove back to the clubhouse, we found the slow group was 2 ahead of us (which made FIVE GROUPS on 16). 17 and 18 both had one group on course, on pace, so it was clear where the issue was but it couldn't be fixed because "it's an outing." Will I believe his name was, the guy who answered our call and came out, offered us a discount coupon to return but even if I wanted to make the 2 1/2 hour trip...the course was in okay shape, but the tees and greens were in rough shape to be nice (some were terrible) and bunkers were full of wasps and hornets and standing water. I'd be mad if I paid $70 a person to play here baseline on a Saturday morning, even more so after this experience. read more

The course is not kept well at all. The fairways are rock solid, grass is brown and it isn't even June. Most greens have large patches without grass, just dirt. $45 for 18 holes is pure robbery with how terrible the course is. read more

Great views and beautiful foliage in autumn. The course is surrounded by residential houses but they're far away enough that it shouldn't be a problem. Some holes are tricky, but it's pretty fun! Always a plus when the bathroom is clean and has soap! read more

Pace of play states 4:30 hours and we finished in about 5, got held up on back 9 a few times but no real issue with that. I was a little disappointed in the quality of the course. I went in thinking it would be pristine but some of the fairways were a little beat up (not terrible). The greens were awesome and even though most have lots of elevation changes, none all that sudden so as long as you get on the right level, putting didn't prove too difficult. The scenery is outstanding but makes for a challenging time. This was only my 9th round ever so don't let inexperience deter you. I had a blast and played maybe by best round ever (by performance not score). I don't drive the ball far so unless I hooked or sliced it way out of play I didn't have much trouble finding balls. The other two people I played with would have long drives and would end up losing balls because of all the hills as they couldn't see where it went after teeing off. Blind shots are fine but after awhile they were pretty frustrated because there was so many of them. Not sure I would go back because it was so physically taxing - the hills made it hard to drive a cart to your ball at times which led to hike up a large incline. Perhaps in the early spring, I'd consider going. The $35 after 2:00 is an absolute steal. I played the day before elsewhere and paid $60 for a pretty ho-hum course. This is anything but and 100% worth checking out regardless of skill level. My recommendation is to play a round and judge for yourself. It might not be for everyone but for us it led to an enjoyable and memorable afternoon. read more

Morgan Hill is an extremely challenging track that will frustrate even seasoned golfers. I wouldnt recommend it for a raw beginner. This beautiful golf course is right on the border of Pennsylvania and New Jersey and offers some breathtaking views of the mountains and the Delaware river. The theme of the day will be onward and upward, as every time you think you surely must be at the highest possible elevation, it seems you reach a point even higher. This culminates with the 16th green, from which you can see for literally dozens of miles. One word of caution, however, and that word is "wind." If it is a windy day, I would suggest you choose to play elsewhere, as the wind on about 6-8 of the holes at Morgan Hill can be absolutely brutal and reach a point where it takes away from a bit of the fun. Blind tee shots, undulating greens, pot bunkers, sand traps, wicked elevation changes, you name it, you'll have to deal with it here. It's fairly valued at $59 or $44 for twilight, and NY/NJ residents can play Monday and Thursday at any time for $44. But the $30 sunset (4pm) rate for those long summer days is an absolute steal. read more

Played here over Memorial Day weekend, nice course with great views but course wasn't in the best condition. Back 9 was in better condition then front 9. Seems like it wasn't mowed in a couple days, rough was very thick and made it hard to hit out of, bunkers weren't racked and grass around them was very high. Definitely an interesting layout but kept in great condition. It is a pretty tough course but I really enjoyed it. My only reservation about this place was the starter. We were there for a bachelor party, but he didn't know that. He gave up this big speech about how we shouldn't rip up the course and flips carts. I guess because we looked young or something, but it was irritating, especially when you're paying that much money to pay - you expect a little bit of respect. That aside, this course is definitely worth a try. It might test your game tho. read more

Had an unfortunate incident Tues afternoon. The starter there is always gruff and miserable but something must have pushed him off the deep end. He was swearing at our group and ranting about dealing with the public. We won't be going back after playing there every Tues afternoon for the whole summer. read more

Course-3 stars. Middle of season and its obvious. Pitchmarks, divots, bunkers not raked. No range. Practice chipping/putting area in bad shape. When the course is less 'used', its still a nice challenge. Clubhouse-4 stars. Deck is superb. Very nice way to end a round with a beer and a view. Restaurant-4 stars. Highly regarded. Classy. Most recent visit: 2 stars. What a circus! There must have been 50 people at the starter. Young kid, i felt bad for him as he was obviously overwhelmed. We waited on every hole. Took us 6 hours on a Sunday morning! Plus, it was super hot and humid - all of the water jugs on the course were empty! I asked an employee about refilling the water and he said 'Maintenance went home early.' Are you kidding me?! Unless my golf partners really have a desire to visit, ill not be returning in the near future. read more

Like other reviewers, I like the course and the restaurant but the starter and pace was terrible. How can you tee off early on a Sunday morning and still have 5 hour round. 1. The starter has some strange rules about driving the cart around the parking or to the range while no one was there at the time. 2. They inserted a two-some in-front of us that didn't have a tee time. Screwed up the pace greatly. 3. No ranger on the course. Otherwise, beautiful course and VERY challenging....I am going to give it one more try. read more

Love the course, hate the fact they have NO IDEA what they are doing when it comes to making tee times! It took us 6 hours to play a round of golf...on a Friday in July. The heat index was pushing 100, and it was miserable. They had so many people on the course that they ran out of golf carts. We had to wait on the group in front of us every hole! They eventually starting picking up and not finishing holes, but we would catch them at the green on the next hole again, and then the hole process would start again. Either space out the tee times more, or don't allow hackers to dork around. 6 hours! OK - I'm done venting. Love the course. Hard. Hills, blind shots, pretty quick greens, and well manicured. Love the views across the river to NJ. Speed up play, and make people happier! read more

The last two rounds I played there were over 5 1/2 hours long!!! Once on a Sunday, and again on a Tuesday. No marshals either day, and the staff couldn't care less. Shame it's a beautiful course, but I will not return until management is changed. read more

A really tough course, with huge elevation changes, undulating greens and wide fairways with bunkers often in the middle thereof. The course conditions were excellent -- lush fairways and smooth, fast greens. Bunkers were still suffering from recent rains. Marty in the pro shop couldn't be nicer and was very accommodating. I'm giving this course just two stars and, frankly, it's a shame. The course itself is gorgeous, the views spectacular, but the pace of play is atrocious. We, as a threesome, experienced a 6-hour round on a Sunday morning in June!! We were fed all kinds of lines about double booking issues with an online site but after reading some previous comments, its obvious such issues occur on a regular basis. This is a hard course, perhaps one of the most difficult courses I have played in 30 years. Greens are borderline unfair to the casual golfer, who grows more frustrated with the lengthy waits at nearly every hole. Because of the exceptionally long round, I will not return to Morgan Hill and I will make sure others in my golfing circle are made aware of the conditions. There is no excuse. read more

August 14, 2014 Excellent experience from bag drop to burgers after the round. The course is in great shape, the starter helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. We teed off at 12:30 there were numerous groups in front of us. No problem. We played in under four hours, never had to wait on the group in front. To be fair Morgan Hill will be a challenge for novices, but who ever had a bad day on a golf course. read more

Love the course, Book tee time online for 7:00am on a Saturday and had to wait for members to tee off first. Pace of play was horrible, took over 5 hours. I purchased a special program online for five rounds and jerk in pro shop said he wished he would've made it not available for weekend play. I also received gift certificate for $100.00 last year from Santa and went to use it on shotgun weekend start last year and jerk in pro shop said he was too busy to deal with it. Try to use gift certificate this year for merchandise and jerk in pro shop would not honor it because of new ownership. Looks like that Saturday round cost me $225.00. read more

The best place in the entire world to have a wedding!! I held my wedding reception here for my October 2011 wedding and it was the best decision I could have ever made!! From the very second I met Brad and his team I knew every little detail would be taken care of, and I was not disappointed!! It was better than I ever could have imagined it being!
