This location has had its issues with its prior restaurants. I am happy to say that Moretti's coming into this space is a HUGE upgrade. We waited a couple of weeks after opening to let them work the kinks out. The space itself is warm and inviting, things are opened up and plenty of seating for large parties. We came in for their great Happy Hour and sat the bar. Friendly, ample staff that immediately gave us the happy hour menu and what was included. We placed our drink orders and decided to start with the Coconut onion rings. They were great, delivered piping hot. Crispy, sweet and savory all at once. The sweet and spicy dipping sauce was great too. We then ordered the special 10" pizza. That too was delivered right out of the oven and was the tasty Moretti's thin crust we love. One of the bartenders came by before HH ended to make sure we got one more drink ordered at the special price. They operated like a well oiled machine on our visit, I think this is a great addition to the area! read more

Recently opened after a huge renovation. Beautiful decor. Huge outdoor patio. Mainly Hi Top tables. Reservations suggested on the weekend. Huge menu. Started with a few drinks. Staff still in training as the waitress did not know what "rotating beers on tap me meant" so we had to explain it to her. She tried to rush us with our order but we told her we were in no hurry as once we sat down we noticed many empty tables so obviously staffing issues. Started with the breaded calamari which was very tasty. Big enough to share. Ordered the Italian Beef sandwich with hot peppers on the side. Unfortunately it came with sweet peppers on it. Still very good. The couple we were with had the Hot Honey Pepperoni pizza which they said was amazing! We noticed that they were setting up for live entertainment which was a bonus. We decided to stay for Sam Savage and Company music and were not disappointed. Ordered a few more drinks and loved the live music from soft pop to Motown. Every single time I order either Togo or catering I have to WAIT - upwards to 50 mins. I have adjusted the way I order and placing my pick up time way earlier than it needs to be picked and still wait. Additionally out of the past 6 plus orders they were NOT on time, I was charged wrong and the order has always been incomplete. Today was no different. This does not just make Moretti's look bad but me when catering to my customers. Moretti's Elgin you need help and you need help NOW! Some of your food is good and this Elgin location has good ambience but that will only go so far. While I was waiting for my pickup with the 6 other people - people were waiting to be seated for upward of 30 plus minutes with no one even addressing their presence. Went there for an event in the second floor. There were approximately 250 people there. One bar and two food stations for the buffet. Food was decent, but the number of people relative to the number of stations for food is not good. Imagine 100+ people on line waiting to get food. Plates were small and guests were grabbing two plates because they didn't want to wait in line again. They also didn't have enough chairs, so many people were left standing. Not a good experience. Worst service I've ever had in my life. Literally, we're there 3 hours. I had to keep asking, where the waitress was? I don't think they could even find Her. And once they did, our food was ice cold. It didn't come with the bread. As it stated on the menu MY food had cheese all over it which I cannot have and discussed in detail with the worker. I peeled off the cheese myself. She never did wreath our drinks. I asked her the first time she never came back the second time. She said, oh yes, and came back with a pitcher that was enough to fill my sisters drink halfway and told me she would be back to fill mine. she never came back once again. We finally asked another waiter to get our check. And once he brought it to us, it was all wrong, things were on the earth that we didn't receive or order. When we asked him to find our waitress, she came back, grab the bill and was upset. There wasn't money in it, even though we had asked for her to tell her that she had additional wrong.Items on our bill. Come on Morettis get with it and train your staff. Better. The restaurant is LOUD, even on a weekday at half capacity! Can't wait till the outside patio opens! The Pepperoni & Hot Honey pizza tasted like a pepperoni pizza. When I asked for more infused honey on the side, that tasted like hot cinnamon sticks. Would not recommend this pizza. Uncle Jerry's Sweet Sting is 100% better and more flavorful! Ok Food in general is good. But my visit 4/20/24 was bad, ordered 2 thin crust pizzas and one deep dish. They brought out the 2 thin crust and informed us that the deep dish was sent to the wrong table, we did not get charged for the deep dish but it took another 20 or so minutes for the deep dish to be cooked. Ordered two pieces of cake and that took forever as well! We arrived at 5pm and was seated quickly, didn't get out checked out until 6:48. Everything took forever to get. After paying and leaving the place found that the receipt says "Due to an increased cost of operation, a 3% surcharge has been added to all checks. This charge may be removed upon ur request." Just celebrated my birthday with 21 members of my family. Been to several Moretti's. This Elgin location is my favorite. Terrific place for parties and large groups. Great bar, atmosphere and close to the tollway. The pizza and appetizers were great and were able to watch the football games. Mathew, our server, and Georgiana, the manager, were most accommodating and great hosts. I learned when leaving that both Mathew and Georgiana are both fairly new. Food was decent, but the restaurant was dirty and the service at the bar was not what I would expect from a place like this. All of the spots were dirty at the counter. When we sat down she didn't even offer to wipe it down for us. She was not friendly at all. Bartender scooped the ice multiple times using the glass. When we asked her does she always do this, she said yes, when they take my ice scoop. Knowing this is a risk for it to break or get a shard in the ice made me weary of drinking from the glass. Then when serving the calamari she didn't bring us lemons. She had been walking around the bar talking on her cell phone and then used her bare hands to bring us lemon and squeezed it on our food. Gross. Then when we got up to use the bathroom we noticed rib bones by our feet (we ate nothing with bones). The bathrooms were disgusting. Every stall had toilet paper on the floor and or toilet water. The garbage can was full and dirty diapers and paper towels were all over the floor around the garbage. I know it was close to closing time, but I'd still expect a higher end place like this to not look so trashy. I've got pictures and videos of all of this. I hosted a champagne brunch at Elgin Moretti's upstairs in the north room for 40 guests. I was pleasantly surprised with the breakfast fare served, knowing that's not the usual fare they are known for. The eggs were cooked perfectly, bacon was crisp, the sausage was very tasty, and the pancakes were delicious. Most impressive was the staff. They allowed me to come in the night before to decorate, which was a huge help. During the event, the entire team, led by Jose, did an outstanding job. I would definitely consider this venue again for a private event. read more

Had lunch at this location yesterday. Service was very slow and inattentive. Took more than 30 minutes after order was placed to begin getting food. Chicken Parm was very overcooked, chicken very dry and very crispy along the edges. Wife's Ravioli was well cooked but the Marinara was barely room temperature. Server never asked if drink refills were needed. When she began clearing dishes she abruptly left them in a pile on the table and went to look for a togo box. Took another 15 minutes to get the check. Facility was very clean and inviting but service and food quality were lacking especially with a surcharge to offset operating costs. Will not return to this facility. Moretti"s in Hoffman Estates and Schaumburg are very good, never had any issues at those locations. read more

Morettis has one of the worst customer services I have ever seen. My sister had her bridal shower at the Elgin location in which it was extremely disappointing and poor service. There was no wait staff. My parents were serving the guests. Parts of the package that were paid for were not included such as the sundae bar. Considering this event cost thousands of dollars.. we wanted to give Morettis an opportunity to fix this. My mom called several times followed by my dad. After many failed attempts we finally spoke to the manager. he promised to give a gift card because of the poor service and inaccurate descriptions. Two weeks went by nothing ...another week went by nothing ... we were even more disappointed in customer service. Crazy that there was zero follow up.. my father went to go visit the corporate office. When he visited, he was extremely disrespected, and there was not one apology. That is one of the main reasons I am writing this review because no one deserves to be treated this way. They accused him of lying and made up many excuses. In conclusion, We will never go back to Morettis. We are extremely disappointed in this restaurant. If you want to host an event, please do not host an event here. It will not meet your expectations and lead to disappointment. Ordered delivery tonight and the pizza is all smooshed to one side and the sauces inside the mozzarella sticks was spilled everywhere. I was able to still catch the delivery boy told him he needs to take it back, told me to just call and have them re-make it. I called and told them what happened apologized put me on hold to get a manager. The person then said they are having a hard time finding the manager that they will have them call me back within 10 minutes. Half hour later no call so I called back same person said sorry but we can not find any of our managers. What?! How can you not know where your managers are?! Waitress could barely speak English. Needless to say, she screwed up the order. Salads came after the main course and my wife's order was wrong. Took a long time to get the right meal for her and it was not done properly. My meal was also screwed up in that the pasta was lukewarm and the chicken was not good and very dry. I have eaten at the Moretti's in Lake in the Hills several times and never had an issue. This location, however, was awful from the get-go, walking through the door we asked to sit further into the restaurant so we could look out the big windows at the water and enjoy our lunch. However, we were told that all those tables were reserved for people with reservations, yet they remained empty during our entire visit. Secondly, they had no hamburgers what restaurant runs out of hamburgers, my kids were disappointed to say the least to have to order something they really didn't want.. Both the short rib risotto, and the chicken Parm were absolutely flavorless. If I would've known the food was going to be that bad I would've just ordered a pizza to keep it simple. They overcharged us on the bill and we had to have them correct it, the manager came to speak with us and she could've cared less about our concerns. Needless to say I will never visit this location again and it may be a while before I visit any Moretti's. read more

I've been at the Algonquin and Elgin locations and the food is just meh. Got the thin crust pizza and it's flavorless. They need to add garlic, salt, sugar, basil, oregano to the sauce or juuj it up in some way. Mushrooms are not fresh, also tasteless. Very small amount of sausage. The Cesar salad was ok. When we did delivery, I added garlic olive oil and salt and then added the dressing - much better. read more
