They made efforts to - and did - rectify the experience I had. Thank you! ------- I went here a few years ago to get my longer hair trimmed. I had a good experience at that time, so when I returned to Toronto, I went in for a shorter cut with the same hairdresser. He is very nice, but the haircut wasn't good. After the first wash, I realized it's completely uneven in the front, with longer pieces sticking out by at least half an inch. I am now forced to tuck my hair behind my ears to hide the poor cut. I won't be going back. I now have to get a second cut elsewhere to fix the way this looks.

Me and my friend wanted to do our hair before going back to school. We looked up many reviews and…read moresalons. Then we found this one on yelp and it had many good reviews so, we went to try it out. Both me and my friend wanted to do some sort of ombre balayage. We called in and we asked if they can do balayage and they said yes so we booked an appointment. When we arrived, Daniel is a very nice guy and has a good sense of humour. He really knows how to cut hair really well and gives you opinions and options. His assistant however, I don't think she knows how a balayage works. I wanted a dark red balayage ombre. I showed the assistant pictures of how I wanted the colour of my hair to be like but when it was done, my hair didn't have a gradient. Also the inside of my hair didn't have much of a transition from going black to dark red. In my opinion I think this salon is a great place to get a hair cut but if you are going to get colour done such as, a balayage it's best to look for another place.

This was a place I went back a lot over the last several months. So much and impressed with the…read morehair stylist there that I referred my friend to go see danelle. Up until he set me and my friend up with a hair stylist named ray. I trusted danelle salon and assumed this guy will be just as good. THE guy truly messed up our hair. I don't know where to begin. You would think danelle would've properly tested him before hiring him. I think another yelp user faced the same fate just 2 weeks ago. I asked him to give me a comb over undercut. I took the time and explain what I wanted and how long I wanted. The guy said easy no problem. So earlier last month danelle cut my hair and left it in a way so I can go grow out my hair. Long story short rays cut was a mess with uneven sides corners and front. In fact that's probably why he used so much gel to push down our hair. Well - pictures speaks louder than words. Not only that but the gel that this ray guy used smelled like sh**. Literally smelled like glue and completely over applied it. This guy will truely destroy this salon. I am not happy and was extremely pissed on the way out. You can't even fix it. This is the last time I along with my friend go there. We were basically set up. Again, I normally don't write reviews and take pictures. But the cut was so awful that I'm forced to write this review to let everyone know to be careful and not be a laughing stock. Me and my friend went to lunch after and the damn waitress was smirking at our hair. God. Imagine how would a girl feel if her hair is completely destroyed. In case the guy changes his name or something, he's described as an Asian, 5foot 10, chubby approximately 210 pounds. Thick English accent. Glasses and breaths heavy near your ear as he cuts. There is no style on his hair and it looks like he just razer shaved it.

After many years of searching, I have found my new hair salon! The stylists and owners, Kat &…read moreRonnie, are welcoming, friendly, and obviously talented. Everyone at the salon is cheerful and accommodating (re-booking me at my request on very short notice). Kat did wonders with my unruly hair and gave me a 'do' that I never thought was possible for my hair type. Revolutionary! She's very intuitive about styles for particular face shapes and hair textures. Kat was referred to me by a friend and I am referring to her to all of you! The salon uses Kevin Murphy products, an all-natural Australian line that smells incredible, makes your hair silky smooth, and actually works wonders (despite being all-natural). The salon itself is bright, spacious, and clean. The eclectic bathroom is definitely worth checking out. Their website is pretty wild too. There is plenty of free street parking right out front and the bustle of Ossington is just around the corner so you can celebrate your new look with a cocktail and some shopping (as I most certainly did!).

Pretty disappointing experience during my most recent visit to Civello Uptown location. I expected…read moreto come in for a relaxing hair appointment and come out feeling great and instead I got stressed and so upset I left basically in tears. I first made a hair cut appointment with Kimi last Friday, who did a nice job with my cut. I liked how she did the layering. I also made a hair colour appointment on Tuesday with Laura. I wanted to do a dark purple tint and had a bit of balayage from my last hair colour. I came with a pic of my ideal colour and said I didn't need it to be vibrant..just a tint where I can see purple would be fine. I was aware if I wanted it more vibrant I would have to bleach and make another longer appointment. So we agreed to just put dye over my old balayage. However, this is when my experience turned sour. I arrived after commuting well over 1hr by uber to salon. Only to find out that their water is not working. They said they only found out a bit over 10 minutes before my appointment so they did not call me. I was not too happy but understood that things happen and they did offer to uber me to their Rosedale location or reschedule and comp my appointment. I still really wanted to get the hair dye though. So they just dyed and hair dried in uptown salon but washed my hair at the blo bar salon nearby. When I was getting my hair dried I discovered that my hair is much more red than purple. Horrified, I wanted to get it redone. It was more burgundy than purple with a lot more red tones to it. Laura failed to tell me that my hair had warm undertones already in it and that it would bring out more red in my hair. I was not prepared to see so much red. I rescheduled with Rachel to get a hair toner or gloss. She explained about the warm undertone and said if she added blue toner or gloss it might tone out the reds but she would not be sure how it would turn out. She was super nice about it but her uncertainty made me change my mind and not do it. She was sorry I was so disappointed about the colour and just recommended I wait till it fades and do a colour correction at cost. So now I have paid for a hair colour I dont want and need to spend more money to get it fixed. Like it is not a hideous colour but it is not want I wanted or paid for. So everytime I look in the mirror I get upset. Overall, I have never been so disappointed after a hair appointment. I wanted to feel nice and left feeling upset. There was also another person at reception who was not that friendly either. She had brown hair tied up in a bun and wore glasses. She kind of gave me some curt looks and responses. Even Laura was there and saw me but did not even say anything to me. Side note, a collegue of mine was suppose to see Laura for a hair cut but the client she had before had to get their hair fixed due to a mistake Laura made and my coworker was left waiting for 40 minutes after her appointment time. She ended up being passed over to a higher up staff member. Just very unimpressed. I do not recommend Laura. If you go to this location anyways, try Rachel or Kimi UPDATE - After calling the salon, I was offered a full refund, which was very appreciated. However, I don't think I will return anytime soon. I feel like they could have dealt with my situation better. Everytime I think of this location it now just brings back bad memories.
