One place quoted me almost 11 grand and wanted to replace half the roof! Another place "had minimums" and wouldn't take any jobs less than $3500.00! Derek and Danny were able to quickly diagnose the problem and were able to fix the leak for $1600.00. While they were up there they noticed I had a LOT of broken Spanish Tiles and a lot of holes in the Mortar along the Roof line. Derek used 3 buckets of Mortar and sealed every major hole In the Mortar and replaced 19 broken Spanish tiles. Spanish tile roofs are great and can last up to 100 years but only as long as there are no breaches! Every hole in the Mortar and every one of those 19 cracked tiles was a potential leak in the future. They gave me a very fair price for all the work and their bid to completely overhaul the Roof came in on par with what other companies were charging to fix the leak alone. They also do Gutters! The right way! With Solder! I really only asked to have two seams soldered but Danny went around and re-soldered every single seam that was leaking and even patched over a hole in the bottom of one of them. So that's another headache job I can cross off the list. They have many other skills as well including all types of Carpentry and I would trust them to do anything for me that needed doing. Derek and Danny strike me as very honest hard working guys who are trying to build their business by providing quality work for a fair price and by going above and beyond what is expected. As I said. Very happy to have found these guys! I'm getting older now and I needed some Handy guys who will do good work and treat me fairly. know I will have plenty of work for them in the future. I knew from past experiences that calling a plumber, I'd be charged a hefty visit fee. TJ Handyman was the first to reach out and agree to come to my house to evaluate the situation Monday PM. He arrived pretty late on Monday PM. He looked at our fixture and helped give me 2 options. Replace the fixture completely or go through process of replacing the inter cartridge. I opted for replacing cartridge and go from there. We agreed that he'll come back the next day. He sourced the correct part ~30 miles away, came back the next day and fixed our kitchen faucet. He even put a sealing around the fixture so water wont leak into cabinet below. He did all of this extra work always with a smile and willingness to respond to all of my dumb questions. The best part is that when it came to settling, he was willing to charge me less than what other competitors were quoting. I respected that he wanted to under charge me, but I was happy to pay him competitive rates for the service he provided to us. He did it right, drilling holes and puttying in #4 rebar, used a few dobies and ties to secure the rebar, mixed and poured the concrete like he had done it a few thousand times before, and gave it a great finish with trowels and a sponge. He is fast, and reasonable. And he stands behind his work, asking me to call him if there's any issue. Although his map shows his coverage area being down by Gilroy, I think most of his work is in the south bay (he's working in Los Altos this week). I can only attest to his concrete work, but he says he covers a lot of the trades. I won't hesitate to bring him back for other jobs.
