I love this bus because it is regular, quick and doesn't fill up with the late night fools that have had one to many WKD Blues. Second trip to London we took the London underground from Heathrow to Holborn all along the Piccadilly line without transferring. 23 stops along the line but we we were seated the entire time carrying day packs and one carry-on luggage each.. The cost was the equivalent of $7 per person. If you are coming from Heathrow airport during rush hour you can take the Heathrow Express directly from the airport too Paddington station. For two people this would be about the same Fare as Uber. And you would still have to get from Paddington station to your central London hotel. In our case we could have taken the Elizabeth Express from Heathrow airport to Tottenham Court road station and walked the mile to our hotel near Holborn underground station. The fair would have been about double that of the London underground. Both of the Heathrow Express and Elizabeth line are more luggage friendly. Compared to the London underground. The London underground has contactless payment. You simply scan your credit card on entry and scan the same credit card on exit. Seats seats are cloth with armrest. People with oversized luggage can put your luggage near the doors in special areas. is not advised during peak hours was standing room only. Unlike New York City most London stations have working escalators making it possible, but not easy, to carry luggage on the trains. Make sure you put your luggage on its side. One person put his luggage on his wheels in the luggage area but the luggage rolled out the entrance on its own at the next stop.

London Underground is certainly cheaper than a taxi or uber, and we had no problems finding room on the trains with our luggage (two people, each with a carry on). Announcements remind you to "mind the gap", and the stations we visited were staffed and welcoming. One even had an inspirational quote up. As expected, some stations are more modern than others since they are utilized more. I loved that I could tap my credit card to get through the gates onto the train, rather than buying a physical card or downloading an app. I wish the DC Metro used this system.

Good: Trams usually within 10 minutes in rush hour and 20 at weekends Because of its location you can change between the 93 bus and trams It is quicker to get the tram to this location then walk to Wimbledon or Croydon Bad: No Oyster top up or card transacation machine Trams have only one track leaving towards Mitcham and Croydon from this station so you have to wait here quite a while The local shop is about 3 minutes away and does not have Oyster facilities The 93 bus and the tram both going to Wimbledon seem to turn up at the same time! The interchange between the tram and bus towards Mordena nd North Cheam is problematic and dangerous in the dark Personally I would redesign the interchange...

A useful bus route the 85, especially at this time of year (end of March) as it's ideal for getting…read moreyou to the Putney riverbank to spectate the Boat Race. This bus route runs from Kingston upon Thames, via Kingston Hill, (gets busy in the vicinity of the University). Then it meanders along the busy Robin Hood Roundabout stretch of the A3, close to Richmond Park and onwards through Putney, terminating at Putney Bridge Station. The route runs a 24 hour service, although - beware some of the drivers could do with upgrading their braking skills, so - prepare for a bumpy ride, on occasion. It's also quite entertaining (depending on your mood) late at night with groups of enthusiastic clubbers en route to Kingston's hotspots If you're in a hurry, you'll require reserves of patience, as it regularly barely crawls along the stretch from Putney Heath to Putney Bridge. It's handy for shopping in Kingston or Putney, for the glories of Kingston and Putney riversides, for its proximity to the Robin Hood or Ladderstile Gates at Richmond Park, and for the Kingston Hill and Roehampton Vale campuses of Kingston University.

Luckily in the end we were able to get through to the man who's cab i had left my phone and they were more than happy to stay put so we could get it back.
