You're doing a great thing by volunteering to help here - financially and/or physically. I've been to the Schaumburg, IL location as well, and imo the Aurora facility is the BEST! So, please go! We packed about 1700 pairs of shoes from 10-1! it was great! the two guys that were in chare (Thadeus and Richard) were just awesome, they were friendly, funny and they really love what they do. 3T mentors kids with sports, different kinds of activities like ukelele lessons and gardening classes. They also host clinics and tournaments, this is a great program and they love volunteers! I can't wait to come back and volunteer and get involved! thanks for a great day guys!

I loved every minute here and learned a lot of Photoshop tricks, thank you Jordan. This internship allowed me to utilize my love for drawing and create part of a mural which was an amazing experience. By the way this was my first actual painting...it was a challenge but it was so much fun being able to try something new. At daycare he plays games, works on puzzles, and enjoys music. Day care gives my grandma a much needed break. I know they treat him very nice there because he has the type of Alzheimer's patient if something bad happens he remembers it. He has been going there for eight months and he always comes back happy, which is amazing to me. This place is great for the elderly to interact with other people outside the family and it gives the caregivers a break. He is memory is not good, needs reminders to take his medications and can get grumpy/obstinate. He goes to Elderday twice a week and he is a different person. He comes back home with the word games of the day and shows off the laminated pictures they take on their themed days - Kentucky Derby (his favorite), Senior Olympics, etc. The staff is very caring and they let us know if he is more tired than usual or if there is a concern. They are also a great resource for the family on additional senior services. Wonderful staff and organization!

I could not have said it any better, so this is directly from their website: "CASA Kane County is a nonprofit volunteer organization that has been advocating for the best interests of abused and neglected children within the Juvenile Court system since 1988. CASA Kane County recruits, trains, and supervises community volunteers who serve as Court Appointed Special Advocates and Guardians ad Litem (CASA/GAL) for children who are in court due to abuse, neglect or private guardianship. The goal is to ensure that every child is placed in a safe and permanent home allowing them the chance to reach their full potential in life." They had me at children. Kane County has over 600 children in their system. There are 35 organizations within the state of Illinois. Seriously, is there any more deserving population?
