Technically, they are fine. Good products, and an expert shop. However, the old lady at the counter is simply dishonest. Not only is she gruff and rude, she is inconsistent in pricing jobs. I went in on a Wednesday to get a quote for doing some cutting, she quoted me $60 for four holes. When I went back on Saturday she said it would cost $120. When I protested she started stammering and said she would look up the quote. Her daughter had already confirmed the $60 quote. As I left I let her know that I would be finding another shop to deal with. I am tired of being gouged and treated like crap. Just totally unnecessary. I would agree with others who say they have too much business and so they don't care about their customers. I won't ever do business with them again. read more

A WASTE OF TIME and a RUDE OWNER!! The owner was terse and seemed irritated when I placed my order, as if he didn't want to be bothered by a walk-in customer. I placed the order anyway and paid the deposit...path of least resistance. He said my part would be ready the next week and he would call. Three weeks later still no call so I went to the shop, thinking may-be he had lost my number, hoping the order would be ready. No such luck. He said the part would now be ready in a week or two. When I mentioned that he had estimated a week three weeks ago he said it was taking longer because of the holidays. (He didn't know Christmas and New Year was just ahead when he took my order?) I cancelled my order and got my money back. I also asked him about two bolts I had left with him as templates when I placed my order. He said they were probably in a bucket of bolts back in the shop somewhere and wouldn't be able to find them. Glad to have that experience in the rear view mirror. Fortunately there are plenty of other machine shops in the area. read more

I've worked with Moose Metal on numerous projects. Rick is very knowledgeable and straight forward. He will tell you exactly what can be done and what cannot. I appreciate his expertise with regard to metal and the fabrication process. His pricing is always fair and his turn around time is always fast, this keeps me coming back as a customer. I've bought a few things from moose metal and haven't been that positive about it. The prices are a little higher than you would expect to pay from a metal only place. Also the service can sometimes be a bit rushed. A times it kind of seems like if you not spend thousands of dollars there then you just need to know exactly what you want and get in and out as quickly as possible. read more

My husband and I regularly buy steel from Moose Metal for various household project and have always received terrific help from the owners. We've built trellises, shelves, a bed, planter boxes, gates, and fence posts with steel we've bought at Moose. It's suprisingly affordable to make your own with true steel instead of flimsy store-bought products. The owners often suggest thicknesses or options if we ask and no job seems too small for them to assist with. They'll cut metal to length or to fit it in your car and the fabricated pieces lying around the shop are so creative and well done. I highly recommend Moose. read more

I'm not exactly super experienced in this market segment, but if you are buying material for your own projects there just isn't a better place in town. I'm not sure there IS another place in town . . . so maybe I have a bit of a "don't bite the hand that feeds you" sort of fundamental respect for the shop. That said I had a great experience shopping here. They were friendly, helpful, and I felt their prices were more than reasonable. I'm grateful to have these guys in town and cant wait to buy more stuff from them. read more

It is good to have a place to go to get materials, and have them cut to length. Other than Moose there are few places in this area, for both homeowners or busineses to go for a serious metal need. The department and hardware stores carry very little in the way of raw steel and aluminum. We order materials for our moving trucks and I have also purchased for my home projects. Both Rick and Eva and staff here have always been very helpful. We had some steel stencils made with our company logo that turned out fantastic on their waterjet cutter. It is always a good idea to bring a completed design to a shop like this because time is money. They run long hours during the week and are even open on Saturdays. The fact that they are able to offer full machine and fabrication shop service as well as a retail metal store is nothing short of amazing. read more

Moose Metal has always been good to me; I am a Landscape Contractor that does unusual large projects. I have been working with Rick and Ewa for several years. When we are discussing my projects Rick always thinks how he can engineer the project to save money, which makes me look good when I can save the customer money. I have never been dissatisfied with their work. read more

I absolutely swore by this place for a long time. Over the years I've spent somewhere in the thousands with them. Throughout the years I've also sent numerous customers their way due to the great experiences that I've had with them. Everything that Jerry posted was exactly how I felt until recently. The husband is no bs and straight forward however this is now my second run in with the wife which was less than pleasant. The first time I just figured she was having a bad day and I blew it off. This time she cut me off mid sentence twice after inquiring about a project that I was working on and talked to me as if I were 2 years old. It was rude and i'm not saying that i won't use them again but because of this i will begin to consider other options for my future projects. To have been treated like this twice after having been a loyal customer for the past 6 years is unacceptable. My advise is to talk to the husband. He's a great guy and he's always good for a big smile when you walk in the door. The lolipops on the counter are a nice addition as well. read more

Since Dec.2010 I have ONLY gone to Moose Metal for steel work. My experience with the wife, Eva, has been wonderful. Rick on the other hand is a TOTALLY different story. From the beginning Rick has made snide, smart ass responses to both me and my father, even after spending close to 10-12 grand throughout a two year period. I continued to blow off the negative remarks that seemed to constantly spill out of his mouth until today. I had no other choice but to call him out in front of his customers. I have dealt with his pompous attitude for far too long. He is VERY ungrateful to his loyal customers. After all of that, he tried charging me what was originally a $45 order last year and increasing the charge almost 4 times as much with his lame response, "That's the reality of it." My best advice is if you can somehow sneak pass the ass hole named Rick and meet only with Eva I would highly recommend it. After this experience I will never return to Moose Metal for future big jobs. read more
