The store is clean and well stocked. Now for the deli inside the grocery store: Since we were visiting Quanah on Monday and Tuesday, leaving Wednesday, we found that most restaurants in town are NOT open either of those days. Since the store is right next to the Best Western Hotel where we were staying, we thought we'd see if we could buy food here. What a pleasant surprise! They have a full service little mini-restaurant inside where you can order alacart or plates of chicken, catfish, chicken fried steak, with sides of veggies, mashed potatoes, fried okra, etc. I got the fish, my husband got the chicken fried steak with gravy, which was made up fresh for him on the spot. We really enjoyed our meals and the price for both was only around $20! BUT, the real reason I wanted to write a review is to compliment Steve, the gentleman who served us and cooked our food. He was SO friendly and helpful. A true credit to the store. Thank you, Steve!

I was only waiting patiently and in no hurry . She argued from a distance regarding the thickness of my lunch meat. WOW! I stated please use a 8/10. Her reply is " THATS SHAVED!" Knowing the difference I said again. Not shaved. She then told me ... I need not get a attitude ! I told the man closest I'd be right back... I approached the manager Seth and ask if I could speak to him. As he was in a hurry. He AGAIN SAID " that's not her at all so I'm Not sure what your talking about!" Offended. He turned to get his grocery cart and exited the door. I went back to pick up meat and only received 1/2 pound! Never would I have yelled a busy lady for one but was yelled at. I was in no hurry but a manager who showed NO INTEREST IN A CONCERNED CUSTOMER- was the poorest part. The rest of crew is always very accurate.

They have a deli, a meat market, produce, all basic foods, a small floral section, pretty much anything you need, and a lot of miscellaneous items. The service is friendly and they even will offer to take your purchase to your car and help you load it. You sure don't find that in the city where I live! They close promptly at 9 PM, "pull in the shingle and roll up the sidewalk", so get there early.

In other words, almost anything you could buy at a United of twice its size you will find here also. They have a deli area with hot foods ready to eat as well as the cuts area and all of the bakery items you would want to find anywhere. Further, they have a good seafood selection and excellent service behind all of the fresh categories. The store is immaculate. The store has great parking. You will see the right amount of open checkout lines with helpful, knowledgeable staff making sure that your purchases go smoothly.

On our next stop I dove into the peaches, and while washing one off I noticed there was a hole where the stem should be. I put my thumb in and broke the peach open and it was MOLDY inside all over the pit! I tossed it and grabbed the basket and every single one of them was like that. My husband watched as I broke each peach open one by one to find fuzzy mold inside. I was so bummed. I ate one apricot, but the rest were mushy and inedible, so they went in the trash as well. The cantaloupe was very good, but I spent $14 and only got one cantaloupe out of the deal. Wanted to stop on the way back and let them know, but we went a different way home. So I guess I'm telling them here. I won't stop here again. I should have taken pictures. It was gross.

There is one of these stands on each side of the 287, so they can get be accessed from either direction. Both stands are located at a highway crossover, so both have very easy access to both north and southbound US 287. We bought several varieties of things here today: cherry cider from Colorado, big red ripe local tomatoes, sweet dried pineapple chunks for snack, and a sack full of different preserves you can't get in the grocery store, like raspberry-rhubarb and sweet potato butter. Monroe's grows peaches watermelons and pears for the summer and apples in the fall. You can see the orchards along the 287. 5 fresh from the farm stars!

I have to agree with the other reviewers that I encountered no friendliness in this store. I did…read moreencounter one employee who was very helpful at showing me where the section I was looking for was. When I first walked in I realized I was wearing a patriotic t-shirt I had bought at a Walmart in Arizona so naturally I wouldn't have the receipt with me. I stopped the first young man with a Walmart shirt on that I encountered and asked him if he would vouch for me that I walked in wearing it and didn't put it on on the store and try to walk out with it. He said, "I don't really care one way or the other." Then he told me they were plenty of cameras so I figured I'd have a record of the fact that I walked in wearing it and stopped worrying but it wasn't a very polite answer. The girl at the cash register just kept staring at me while I was paying. She did say thank you when I was done but was almost glaring at me. You think after they read all the reviews about unpleasant encounters with employees they would try to do a better job of training them to be cheerful. Who wants to go back to the store or you aren't treated like a valued customer? I think this is billed as a super Walmart but I've been in many super Walmarts and I wouldn't think this qualified, too small, not enough variety of merchandise to qualify as a super Walmart.

I'd love to give y'all more stars but my biggest problem here is freshness of food. Three different…read moreoccasions I've been here and had gotten home to find mold on cheese, the expiration date was July 2024, I bought some frozen fruit and the fruit was moldy/bad tasting when thawed, went to get a pizza in the middle of March 2024 and the sell by date was in February 2024. Again, got some Mac & Cheese with a best by date being 4/20/24 and it tasted like sour milk. Granted it's a big store, and maybe I'm being super picky(I worked in Dietary in State Run conditions where you couldn't have ANY outdated/spoiled food) about the quality. The only reason I keep coming back is the location of the store and I want to avoid Walmart. I am however getting my dairy at Braum's, so that helps. My advice to management, keep your eyes on the shelves and sell by dates. I spent full price today for spoiled food and it's not ok. The staff at the store is great. The rep that took my call today sounded like he hates his job. Only here in the area for one more month...I'm hoping for a little to no improvement in the next 30 days. Also, the rewards program is a joke. Been using it so much, it's confusing with no benefits. I would suggest improving and provide perks like a free 8oz coffee at the deli counter, or something WORTH using the rewards. Been using it for 4 months with absolutely nothing to show for.
