I did…read moreencounter one employee who was very helpful at showing me where the section I was looking for was. When I first walked in I realized I was wearing a patriotic t-shirt I had bought at a Walmart in Arizona so naturally I wouldn't have the receipt with me. I stopped the first young man with a Walmart shirt on that I encountered and asked him if he would vouch for me that I walked in wearing it and didn't put it on on the store and try to walk out with it. He said, "I don't really care one way or the other." Then he told me they were plenty of cameras so I figured I'd have a record of the fact that I walked in wearing it and stopped worrying but it wasn't a very polite answer. The girl at the cash register just kept staring at me while I was paying. She did say thank you when I was done but was almost glaring at me. You think after they read all the reviews about unpleasant encounters with employees they would try to do a better job of training them to be cheerful. Who wants to go back to the store or you aren't treated like a valued customer? I think this is billed as a super Walmart but I've been in many super Walmarts and I wouldn't think this qualified, too small, not enough variety of merchandise to qualify as a super Walmart.

Actor 2: Person who wishes to consume vegan food & hot peppers but is not the best at basic mathematics. Scene: Parking lot of Walmart in Childress, TX. (Actor 2 is leaving Walmart as s/he runs into Actor 1 who is entering.) Actor 1: Is that a box of fresh habanero peppers in the your bag right next to the tofu that was on sale? It looks as clean as the store is inside. Actor 2: It must have been on sale, because my receipt was cheaper than I was expecting, but I am not the best at math. (Both turn to the audience as everyone shares a laugh. If no one is laughing, repeat section of play until people understand they need to laugh. NEED to laugh. NEED TO LAUGH.) Before, you had to drive about an hour to get anything you needed besides the basics, and grocery prices were extremely high. Now, it is much better. Besides, they are providing people with jobs that could not be found in what used to be a very tightly closed community. You had to know the boss and be good friends to get hired, or, sadly, someone had to die or retire for there to be a job opening. I love shopping at Walmart. The clerks are friendly and attentive. I am handicapped and have to ride a motorized cart. Everyone, even the shoppers, are so helpful. It's about the only place in town that has plenty of motorized carts. Most places don't have them. And I love their sales! They believe in marking things down even when they don't advertise! It's so fun to find shirts and skirts for $1 apiece sometimes!
