Dear Yelp readers,…read more If you're looking for higher conciousness information regarding parenting or relationships, you're in the right place. I came to Dr Arayeh struggling with parenting one 6 year old son, and a poor relationship with his father. Needs were unmet, proper communication was lacking and we were all in a regular cycle of abusive words and thoughts. Throughout 6 sessions of 1 hour, valuable information regarding the fight flight brain, childrens needs, concious communication, mindful breathing, Pause method and stages of change, were shared via the phone videos and texts. All very important information to help love and nurture children (all humans really) and helped my sons dad and I see and tend to our child in more supportive ways. I'd absolutely reccomend taking sessions to improve parenting/relationships, I tell my friends and family how valuable Dr Arayehs info is and encourage them to invest in themselves. Money and time well spent. Thank you Dr Arayeh, we're all nicer and more loved than before. and when I inevitably go back to my unconscious ways sometimes, I dont stay near as long.

While many of us are emotional when we enter the space, I found it rather sad that I had no introduction the first day. I had no idea who anyone was. There was not even eye contact from the front desk when I came in lost on the first day. Perhaps two of the team members properly greeted me which was lovely. But I quickly learned that the welcomes and departures are seldom celebrated in this program. Some of the staff were not equip to deal with confrontation. If you are working with a vulnerable, emotional, and recovering populations, I expect better accountability, deescalation, guidance, and resolution. Shying away from uncomfortable, but important topics like racism and a*sault need to be addressed appropriately and thoughtfully. I'm not expecting perfection! I think I wanted a warmer, kinder environment where the team was attentive and caring. I hated feeling like another statistic running through their program. It was a wonderful group of participants at the time, but the faculty single-handedly made clear that Harmony Place would be the opposite place for healing. One last note is that the entire Harmony Place Monterey lacks diversity in staff. I think this was a large con as well. Hoping there are improvements and wonderful experiences for future groups!

The Core Group Therapy sessions and Men's Group sessions gave me important development to recognize and cope with emotions. This development and semiweekly and weekly one on one therapy sessions with Dr. Lee Larimer truly achieved dramatic benefits. I continue to attend Dr. Schwartz's biweekly alumni sessions, as well as psychiatric appointments at CHOMP Behavioral Health as needed. Most recently, after 18 months on the waiting list, I have a personal therapist at CHOMP. All of the HPM staff made me feel welcome. They communicated their roles well and executed flawlessly. I'm honestly younger now at 39 than I was at age 23, and my hormones are working better now. My parents are patients of Dr. Miller's, and he helped to save my father's life when he had a heart attack. My wife saw him before we got pregnant - and we have a book about fertility health coming out soon. Dr. Miller is also an advisor to Silicon Valley Health Institute, a non-profit Anti-Aging education group I run. He has spent hundreds of hours of his own time helping the community - for free - by sharing his knowledge. Seriously - Dr. Miller is one of the rare doctors who uses quantitative lab work (not "vibrations" or other stuff) in combination with clinical experience to work miracles. I do not say this lightly; I run a top health and wellness blog and podcast and I insist on the very best for myself and my family. That's why Dr. Miller is one of the physicians I trust to help me do - and be - more than I thought was possible. Dr. Miller takes a minimum of one hour to spend with you. He will listen to you in a way no "5 minutes per patient" doctor ever could. He also takes on chronically ill and difficult to treat people. In my own non-profit work, I deal with these populations too, with brains so addled by illness that it's hard to think clearly, and emotions run the rollercoaster when you're in that state. Some of the reviews here are clearly from people who have this happening - chronic anger at all "white coats" who ever failed them. Sophie actually calls him "Dr. Phillips" and makes some pretty wild statements that simply aren't true if you've been in Dr. Miller's office, like I have dozens of times.
