There are good reasons that Moore Irrigation has a 3.5 star rating... many customers report having the same terrible customer service and incompetent results that I experienced with them. I contacted Moore Irrigation to fix a broken Master Valve. Their tech, Byron, arrived on Wednesday to fix the master valve issue. Unfortunately, he did not perform the work properly, which caused the backyard sprinkler system to stop working. I called on Thursday to report the issue, and have a tech sent out to fix it. I was told that the earliest Moore could have a tech out is Monday, which was disappointing. On Monday, Tyler, from Moore Irrigation, called and told me that the tech wouldn't be able to make the scheduled time, and rescheduled for Tuesday. On Tuesday, Tyler called again, and said that the tech again wouldn't be able to come out as scheduled, and rescheduled for late in the day Wednesday. When I told Tyler that I was concerned about their reliability, considering their repeat cancelling and rescheduling, and whether I could count on them to actually show up on Wednesday, and he said he couldn't commit to anything, and "things happen". A reputable company with proper customer service would have provided a prompt response to fix their mistake, instead of giving me the run around and continuously making excuses. With such a lame, unreliable response, and the history of missing scheduled times, I contacted another vendor to address the issue. I couldn't continue to let the yard go without watering during the summer heat. The new vendor arrived on time, and promptly fixed the mistake that Moore Irrigation made. When I talked with Tyler at Moore Irrigation, he was flippant and adversarial like he was every time I talked with him, and said "mistakes happen". I tried to resolve the issue with Tyler, but he cursed at me, and hung up on me. Don't do business with this incompetent, hostile company. Customers shouldn't be given lame excuses day after day, then cursed at, and hang up on. Customers deserve far better service than Moore Irrigation. read more

These guys are TOP NOTCH! We have had a ton of companies come out to our house to help us try to find mysterious leaks and deal with the chaos of our system. Not one company managed to get all the zones working and functioning for us and the first 3 couldn't even locate the leak. Many came out and just tore up our yard digging for lines. When Moore Irrigation sent out Bairon, this guy knew what he was doing. He quickly located wiring issues and helped us identified bad valves. When he left the first time there was only one zone we couldn't find anywhere. After a couple hours here already working on other issues, we told him to just give up and we would see if we could locate it one day. Then we decided to have other work done in the yard and it just so happened all the wires running to the control panel were exposed from this work. We decided to start tracing out the wire for the missing zone. We had it narrowed down where it might be, but we didn't want to tear the yard up after we'd just put new sod down in a section. We reached out to Moore Irrigation again on Friday hoping someone could come out immediately before the pavers went down, and these people came through for us 100%! That missing zone still hasn't been found because it's under new sod we didn't want torn up, but Bairon found a GENIUS work around and connected those other sprinklers to an existing zone we knew was working. We didn't have to tear up new sod, and we got our sprinklers all working! Moore Irrigation shows up when they say they will, they don't leave a mess when they are done, and they charge a more than fair price for the incredible work they do. Hopefully, your system isn't as much of a disaster as ours was, but you can trust these guys can handle it if it is! We cannot thank them enough for squeezing us into their schedule and keeping our other project on time by remedying this problem for us on short notice. We will only call Moore Irrigation for anything in the future and recommend you do as well! You will NOT be disappointed! read more

I had them work on a valve last summer that was staying on with each station that was watering. The technician told me he replaced it. Well I had a leak and had another company out and a friend come watch the work, the exact same valve, exact same issue!! Really!! So obviously they did not fix or replace as they said they did!! Very frustrating. I did try to call them this year to look at my system again, before I knew this valve was doing the same thing. I left a voice message and NEVER heard back. I would not use them again! read more

Called today to request a sprinkler service call for a fault error code on my controller. They called back promptly. Thats a big plus in my book! First earned. Mr Moore explained it would be a week until my appointment day...I was ok with that knowing it's hot as h*** in this current peak June season for sprinkler repair. Then he says their hourly rate for labor is $125/ hr, with a one hr minimum with overage charged on a 15 minutes plus basis. Now, while this is the highest per hour cost of companies who responded so far to me, but hey I'm ok if the service is prompt and provides as excellent quality repair. Next Mr Moore says, however, the tech won't give me an repair estimate based upon his diagnosis, that an invoice will be emailed to me later once tech returns to base and they add up all the time and parts used. I said but the tech gives me a bid or rough estimate of parts cost and labor before he starts my actual repair, correct? . Mr Moore says no. No estimate or even max cap for repairs is ever given. Whatever invoice is sent well after tech leaves is what you pay, even though you have no idea ahead of time how much that is going to be. Plus this effectively means you can't get a second bid from another company not knowing Moore's total repair cost if you feel the price is way out of wack. I told Mr. Moore I'd be happy to pay his tech $125 for labor for a bid only if i thought his pre work estimate was too high to go ahead and complete the repair. He declined. Are you kidding me?! They could mark up parts used on a repair many times over what other repair companies charge, and you'd be legally responsible for paying this surprise, after the fact, bill. I don't know about anyone else, but in my opinion, this sounds rife for possible pricing abuse. Perhaps if I were a repeat customer who has experience with their practices and/ or they had many more stellar reviews than seem to exist on Yelp or Google, I would be more willing to agree to give them my open checkbook. But no, this is not my first rodeo with not fully price transparent vendors. I quickly determined this was a hard pass for me. So I kindly cancelled the week out appointment, but did thank him for the quick return phone call. They get one star for the quick return phone call, but no more for lack of total job price transparency. read more

Brad was extremely professional from day one. After a quote, he scheduled the sprinkler system as soon as possible due to us having an apartment lease and having to drive back and forth to hand-water every day. The whole crew completed the system efficiently and were courteous. The system is great. Highly recommend. read more

We had Moore irrigation come out to do an install for my house last month and we were very pleased. We were worried about the trenches looking bad and making a mess of the yard, which we expected, but Joe and his crew were very clean and maintained the trenches very nicely. Brad came out after the installation was complete and explained the entire system to myself and my grandparents. Shortly after, we misprogrammed our controller when we had some new plants added but they were very helpful in getting our controller back in working condition whenever I called in. Tried to get service and was told next available appointment is in 3 weeks. Crazy!! I Don't Expect to be pushed in front of the line but 3 weeks during this time of year of burnt grass is Unacceptable!!! Glad I didn't Use this Company with this Horrible owners Response!!! read more

We had them come out to run through our system and make some repairs to broken heads at my fathers house. They repaired everything we needed done and gave us recommendations on how to water during the winter months. Highly recommend. read more

Spent about $6K in February to get a sprinkler system from them (front and back yard) and get some sod installed. Sod looked rather sparse, but I was assured it was dormant and would fill in later. Come March, grass still was looking sparse, and the system developed a major leak. Repeated calls finally got someone to come out to shut it off, but it took several days until they could get someone out to fix it. Fast forward to today (August), and the grass is still kind of hit and miss, and had to call a plumber about a leak which he showed was coming from the irrigation system. This time they said they couldn't send anyone out for at least a week. Can't say that I would use or recommend them if they are so short staffed they can't support their systems, and if they install systems that need this much support. read more

We were working from scratch and needed a sprinkler system. Brad Moore came out to walk through the project and give us us a bid (we got bids from 4 companies). Brad had a quiet confidence that made us comfortable with our choice of Moore Irrigation. The system was installed quickly, the crew cleaned up after themselves, and Mario the foreman patiently went over the system with us. A couple days after install we noticed a small leak which the crew quickly repaired. A year after install we were having some programming issues (our fault-not the system's). I called Brad and had a call back the same day for a refresher on the program. GREAT customer service. Highly recommend. read more

We used Moore Irrigation for years... In the beginning they were awesome however lately, their customer services is lacking. We graciously agreed to changed the appointment we had for 3 weeks due to there staffing issues. However, when our roofers took longer than expected, it was not safe to have both companies on property at the same time...so we asked for them to return the short notice courtesy... they would not... it would be another 3 weeks... basically take it or leave it. I just want to bring attention to this company!!! They came and installed a sprinkler system for me and the crew was so polite!!! I was a little nervous about what my yard would look like when it was finished seeing it all torn up, but the clean up was exemplary!!! We hired this company based on the reviews to install a sprinkler system and sod. It was a new build and we were looking forward to having a yard to enjoy. It did not go well at all. Some on his crew complained about the hauling of the sod down the driveway when Mr. Moore knew exactly what this job entailed. They picked up very little of their trash they threw around such as water bottles, monster cans, food wrappers and charcoal from their grill when they grilled on my porch. His crew also took it upon themselves to go rummaging through our garage looking for shovels and then leaving them lay out in the yard. I reported all this to Mr. Moore and he stated " he's never had a job go this bad before." The top soil they put down and spread was fine until no one showed for a few days ( because of a bigger job) and it rained which washed most of the soil away. They did come back and try to spread it out however most was already gone which resulted in a very bumpy yard. The grass looks pretty nice but it sure isn't smooth or even. My husband was away on business at the time this happened and it got to the point I wasn't dealing with him anymore, my husband would have to do the communicating with him. A job that I was told would initially take 3 days turned into 3 weeks. I know you reply to reviews Mr.Moore and if you can reply with a clear conscience that I have exaggerated about anything let me know. Reviews are suppose to be truthful. read more

Brad was fabulous to work with. We had a time crunch due to selling our house and having a last-minute repair needed before we could close in a couple of days. Set an appointment with Brad and he came out, on time, and quickly diagnosed the problem. He and his crew were out the next morning (on time, again!) and quickly made the repair. Everyone I dealt with was polite and professional. They took great care not to disturb the landscaping, which was a critical issue for me. Best of all, total repair bill was surprisingly low! They worked quickly and efficiently, and yet, the work was excellent. Highly recommend. read more

We had Moore Irrigation servicing our yard on one of our residential properties for over a decade; originally, very good customer service, very nice continuity of care with a familiar service technician performing regular preventive maintenance and the occasional repair of heads and leaks. We had to change to a new company all together recently after a service tech did not successfully diagnose a problem that caused the system to malfunction; from most of the accounts from other professionals serving our properties (sans from Moore themselves), the problem/defect should have been identified and remedied during the initial service call. Moore disagreed and insisted that it was not a defect that could have reasonable been identified (because they do not check to make sure the "timer" function operates properly during their system checks). We tried to strike a reasonable compromise to not pay for labor associated with failed efforts to successfully diagnose the malfunction -- but the company wanted nothing of it. My wife and I concluded that we should check with trusted friends who care for their yards in ways that we do -- and, as a consequence, we have moved to a new service provider for this residential property as well as for my portfolio of income and commercial properties. What "stuck in my craw" about the recent experience after over 10 years, was that I felt like I was being an administrative burden to Moore for even broaching the subject that the service tech did not properly diagnose the problem and in being conscientious about trying to get the problem fixed due to the lack of rain during the summer and out intent to get the property adequately watered. We were interested in promptly addressing the issues, remedying it and working with a sense of urgency to rectify what we believed should have been diagnosed and addressed during the original service call. We felt like we were being bothersome and burdensome to Moore when we sought to have expedited treatment (to have subsequent service calls executed AFTER the original service call did not successfully address the issue) -- it was a very odd feeling to say the least. Where the customer was feeling apprehensive/defensive and even a little sheepish about calling to get a service tech out to address the issue. When we did get a new service tech out, we learned the original service tech was discharged from the company, and the new service tech indicated to us by stating that the routine preventive maintenance protocol did not catch the issue with the automated "timer" function not working properly. In the end a new junction box/motherboard needed to be installed -- a 15 minute install. And only after we paid for a prior hour of labor in which the discharged employee failed to diagnose and address the problem. Given the full complement of facts and circumstances and after conferring with our long time landscaper and another irrigation service company (who we have worked with on our commercial holdings), it was apparent that there was: (a) something going on with the lack of continuity of care and the associated discharge of the prior tech; (b) something going on where Moore insisted that the discharged employee's labor time was as valid and chargeable hour of work; and (c) that it appeared that there was no reasonable opportunity to work collaboratively with the company over billing issues, to strike reasonable compromises and to come to a "meeting of the minds" about a reasonable solution. As I stated, I agreed to pay for reasonable labor and the associated hardware costs with the installation of the new motherboard. It just seemed (after conferring with industry professionals) and in knowing the ways of the world as an expert in dispute resolution, that we were no longer going to have a meaningful relationship with the company, because they were not open to having a two-way communication with us about a reasonable resolution to our dispute. This was not a dollars issue for us. In any event, I suppose the take-away here is applicable to circumstances that are not simply limited to irrigation services. All was fine when things were going fine and routine maintenance and fixes needed to be applied. This was the first time in over 10+ years that we had a service issue and the very first time that my wife and I sought to reach a resolution to a dispute over a relatively small labor charge (notwithstanding the potential that grass could have been damaged in a very serious way -- but luckily was not). In the service business (industry nonspecific), it's important to be at your best customer service when customers are frustrated and feeling like they are not getting the best service and workmanship performed. We felt like when the chips were down, things were not going perfectly smoothly and in a routine way -- that the relationship became antagonistic and adversarial. read more
