Anyway... Entrance during both events was a breeze and I'm glad for that. Often times when guest listed or on media list, there's some kind of issue. It always gets resolved but can be a hassle. Luckily, the box office really has it together here. In addition, the sound quality is pretty spectacular. Sometimes in a venue as old as the Paramount (since 1915) getting the acoustics right can prove difficult. They've definitely got the latest, state-of-the-art equipment needed for live performances of musicians, comedy acts, plays, and musicals. The interior design is ornate and lovely.

Her name is Gloria. Since you all don't have any assigned seating, I held our seats while my wife went to the concession stand first. When my wife came back with her items, I then proceeded to go get my concession items. As I'm walking down, I get a text from my wife saying that a concessions person came in the theater and told her she didn't pay for her items, and asked me to pay at the register. As I'm checking out, with tap mind you, my first attempt doesn't work on your scanner. I tried a second time and it goes through. I then told the cashier that I needed to pay for my wife a items as well and the cashier informed me that all items have been rang up and there weren't any missed payments. I said ok and went back to my seat. About 20 minutes later, the woman who I now know as Gloria comes into the theater raising her voice to my wife and saying that she needed to pay for food. She says this twice in a raised voice. I go down and get it taken care of. The lack of customer service skills by Gloria is beyond ridiculous. For one, communicate to your staff that someone is going to be coming down to pay, or how about this, let your customer know the transaction didn't go through before you let them walk away. It's beyond embarrassing to have someone berate you in a packed theater for ultimately a mistake on the theaters part. Side note, can you all get some other food options and teach Gloria how to handle customer service issues instead of raising her voice at patrons.

Along the right side of entering, are all the food trucks and food venders. Lots of porta potties everywhere. Plenty of seating scattered around and many shady areas as well. Even hammocks are throughout. The whole place is very well laid out. Very well thought out. You can see a lot of work went into the area. Towards the back there are venders selling clothing, jewelry, Christmas decor, house plants. There is face painting, balloon animals, henna, hair braiding, caricatures. In the middle are pumpkins and a framed house with pumpkins. A big sign of Uhland Fall Fest. Lots of photo ops. Some old rusty cars with pumpkins around them. A really nice festival celebrating the Fall season.

But the kicker was my last visit on July 12 to the 7 PM Minions and Monsters. No one informed us prior to entering the theater or before the movie started that the air conditioner was not working. The amount of events was astounding, though, you do feel a little bad for the little cattle getting wrestled or roped to the ground. Alas, life of a cowboy! The carnival & fair are nice - just your old basic fair with big stuffed animals, hard-to-win games, rides with questionable safety factors, and artery clogging foods. Was it a good experience? Yes. Let me start with the $20 parking fee, that hurts. Then it's a really long walk to the carnival entrance, another $10 for access to the fairground, and then another however much for rides. During spring break it was $25 for kids during the day (half off) and the make you pay extra for the paper wristband so $27. So you're already $67 in and haven't even done anything yet. The carnival looks old, all the kids ride are just old old old. And most of them your toddler can't ride unless you're with him, so buy another wristband for yourself! And the people working it look like they wish they could be anywhere but there. The food was normal carnival food but extra gross. And expensive. Overall we had a good time because our kids don't know any different, and we love to dress up and go to rodeo. The petting zoo was a cute attraction for the kids, and we love walking the exposition hall. Is it the best rodeo? No. Could it use a good upgrade for the price? Yes. Will I go again next year because that's all we got? Yes.

The good: the 4 haunted houses and hayride are legit. The decor is really cool. I could have walked around looking at everything much longer. There's a DJ when you walk in playing some good tunes and the jump scare actors were pretty creepy! It's like a mini Halloweentown. Improvements: they have the potential to make this place even better. 1. They had closed one of the bars and were slammed at the one bar open, causing the bartender to rush everyone and be quite rude because they were under stress. If the line were shorter I would have gotten a second drink. 2. The food was just ok. Kind of expected from this place but they could easily purchase more quality ingredients or partner with a food truck. 3. They could use a few more jump scare actors. The ones in the asylum and alien haunted house were so fun. The clown one had so much potential, but they did not capitalize. Have creepy clowns walking around! A few tweaks and this place could be amazing and even more popular.
