The best part was that she spent the whole treatment working on those areas and I got a lot of relief. Mandy isn't one of those therapists that just spends a few minutes on the painful areas and moves on. She actually focuses the session based on what you need and I really appreciate that. I can't wait for my next appointment!

Do yourself a favor and get Rolfed by Brooke. I have a rod and 12 screws in my back resulting from…read moreherniated disc (2 surgeries) and I take both Lyrica and percocet for pain relief. I've done a LOT of physical therapy which gave me a good base for this but Rolfing has produced more dramatic results more quickly and easily. I started the 10 session with a visible hump in my back and more pain than I wanted to handle. I finished the 10 session with an almost straight back and having cut down my Lyrica dose by 1/3. Because my problems are severe, I am continuing a pain management set of sessions with Brook and continuing to see results. I am now working on cutting percocet down by 25%, and expect to continue to improve now that my posture is roughly correct and I can build muscle more easily in the right places to provide support to my spine. Brooke is lovely, sweet, kind, intelligent, serious and is a truly holistic practitioner, combining scientific understanding of the minute details of the body with an intuitive grasp of the mind's effects on those specific parts. Her voice is soothing and I have fallen into a trance in a couple of sessions, which is lovely. Rolfing does not hurt, as you might think, it is actually very gentle touch most of the time. Since it's your body, you do need to be able to talk about the way it feels and take advice on home work. Brooke is easy to collaborate with in this way. She inspires me to learn more about my body's response to its environment and improve my function. Highly recommended, especially if you have a problem that physical therapy has not been able to solve. This is worth every cent, although it is not an inexpensive massage, it is far more productive and lasting.

It has been just the therapy I needed. After being very comfortable in my body again for about a week, I took a tumble on a slippery deck, again bashing my hip, and also mashing my shoulder this time. I contacted Brooke and, luckily, so luckily, she got me in that afternoon. Soon I was back on my feet dancing at one of my best friends wedding for hours without any discomfort!! I feel so very grateful for Brooke and her healing abilities. I cannot take for granted how wonderful it feels to dance all night or take my dog on a 3 mile walk through Portland. I am able to do the things that bring me joy without suffering. Believe me, you don't have to live is pain. And the treatments have elevated my emotional well-being too. Not going around in pain will do wonders for one's spirit!
