During our vacation to Puerto Peńasco, we decided to check out this place to eat lunch and the experience was beyond our expectations. The food is not just heavenly and divine but you feel like your at your grandma's house eating your favorite foods when you were a little kid. It is extraordinary that such a simple, yet small and simple menu can bring you more than just satisfaction. Even our friend's kids who are very picky/particular asked for seconds, which rarely happens. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, and he was such a delight. It's quite rare nowadays to see owners sharing and spending time with their customers. His humorous, playful and witty personality is enchanting and delightful. None of the men wanted to leave as they were thoroughly enjoying conversing with him and due to his remarkable customer service, like-able personality and impressive quality taste of food, we ended up going once a day for lunch or breakfast during our entire vacation. I've been coming to Rocky Point since I was a kid. This restaurant was a delightful surprise. The owner, Ohan, educated us about all the options and encouraged us to have whatever we wanted, he was more than happy to accommodate any request we had. Ridiculously pleasant guy, as much a part of the dining experience as the food. If you want GOOD coffee, this is the place. He treats his coffee making like an art. Four hours later and we are still talking about our dining experience. I forgot to mention that the eggs on the pizza were cooked to perfection and all his homemade sauces were delish!! ! read more

Moonshadow is an adventure off the beaten path. The owner hand tailers a varied menu with high quality and fresh ingredients. We have brought friends here and everyone raves about the unique food. We enjoyed vegan arepas which contained just the right mix of vegetables and spice. We also had some excellent freshly dried tea with hints of mango and rose - excellent. We also enjoyed the weekly special "the pescarito" - tasty sushi ingredients wrapped into a handheld seaweed burrito. What a great find! An eclectic menu featuring empanadas, arepas, pizza and more. Tasty and healthy options for everyone - including vegetarians and vegans. We have been to this restaurant several times and love the veggie arepas, flatbreads and most recently had the veggie stuffed artichokes (special of the day). Everything has been outstanding, the service is wonderful and there is a great selection of coffees, teas (try the flower and fruit teas) as well as juice, soda and more. the restaurant is well decorated and well located. The owner is very welcoming. The menu is very varied and very interesting. Unfortunately the prices are not displayed and the service is very long. there was no background music either. We paid 350 pesos for a regular coffee, a moca and a gondola pizza (with shell eggs in our pizza). What is not indicated is that all the ingredients selected to put on the pizza are extra. In sum, it is a beautiful place but do not be in a hurry and do not worry about the price either. read more

Went here for breakfast. Very personable owner greeted us and explained the menu. Had Chai Lattes And Vietnamese Coffee to start - both excellent. The Carne Arepa was stuffed with meat, the Carne Empanadas very tasty, and the recommended Empanada with goat cheese and apricot jam was the surprise winner. When the owner heard that we had a birthday in the party, he brought a rum cake that was awesome. Reasonable prices, great food, great service. Definitely recommended. We will return. read more

This little place on Fremont is a must for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. (8am-8pm) The many types of coffee and hot chocolate will surprise you. The food is amazing and Ohan the owner will give you all the details of the made to order food. The Gondola Pizza and the Armenian flatbread pizza are beyond description. For dessert the Russian doughnuts were like nothing I've ever had. Please go and experience this gem for yourself! read more

This was an incredible find. We went there for lunch today. The food was awesome. The owner was very friendly and even modified my wife's lunch to accommodate her low carb diet. He made her lettuce wraps, they were really good. I had the Gondola pizza, which was amazing, the flavor and crust of the dough was excellent. We will definitely be heading back there very soon. Absolutely fantastic cafe! Hidden gem. The front desk manager at our hotel suggested Moonshadow for breakfast on our way out of town. We are so happy he did. The food and coffee menu is so culturally diverse and everything we tried was amazing. The Gondolas are a must try and the Russian donut is crazy good. Not your traditional coffee shop! The owner is friendly and welcoming of questions about the the Armenian/Venezuelan/Cuban style food and coffee. Would definitely recommend all of the specialty coffees. This place is super cute and a worthwhile stop in Rocky point. read more
