Dry cleaning here is top notch and the turnaround is quick. One thing I want to rave about however, is the alterations. I am a short stocky fellow (CHONKY if you will). I also took up Brazilian Jiujitsu a couple years ago and Love it! So, for anyone who practices the Art/Sport, knows that buying Jiujitsu Gi's is hit or miss, and that some brands personally fit better than others depending on body-type, etc. But sometimes, there's a Bjj gear brand that makes a really nice Gi that you really-really want, but unfortunately does not fit well right off the bat. I had this problem, and took a couple of my Jiujitsu Gi's to Moonlight. I left with them, a "template" Gi I owned that fit well, with the 2 Gi's that needed hemming. 1 week later its done, and i have a excellent fit on both! I came her to get my bridesmaid dress fitted. The staff was very nice and quick to help me. They also pick up the phone very quickly. They only charged me $60 for the fitting which I think is great except they charged an extra $15 to trim a very small ribbon around the rib cage it just didn't make sense. I told them to forget the ribbon and I am happy to do it my self and they kept telling me they have to do ribbon. I paid $85 total which personally I think is a reasonable cost and they did a great job. However I would've rather than upfront said $85 then tacked on a $15 charge at the end. We have been customers here for a while. My husband had regularly brought his shirts in to be laundered & pressed. General opinion is that they do good work and are nice people. This past week, our son brought in his 2-piece suit & a plain white cotton button-down shirt to be cleaned. The owner was not familiar with him as a regular customer. He was charged $16.50 for dry cleaning his suit and $5.50 for laundering the shirt. I thought he was over-charged for the shirt because that is not what my husband pays for his shirts. I went to do the pick-up of my son's cleaned suit & shirt. First thing I asked before she retrieved the laundry was how much does it cost to launder men's long-sleeve button-down shirt. She tells me $3.50. I told her there was a mistake on my bill. She tells me the shirt was dry cleaned. Why would a plain white button-down shirt be dry cleaned when asked to be "cleaned"? I told her it should not have been dry cleaned and I should not be charged for it. Then, she told me there were stains on it. Sorry, but there were no stains on it that needed special treatment. If there was, it would have been noted. No notes found on this order. I insisted a fix on the price. She would only give me a $1.50 discount. This means I still I was still over charged. $5.50 - $1.50 = $4.00. I am still charged $0.50 over the normal price of $3.50 for laundering a shirt. I told her it was shameful to take advantage of a new person/customer who is not familiar with their pricing. Be careful of them over charging! Be aware of their prices before paying your bill. We will be looking to support a more honest business. read more

I took a silk blouse in to have a spot removed that looked like aoil stain. When I went to pick it up, I noticed that the stain was still there and that there was the same kind of stain on the sleeve. I pointed this out and the lady stated they would clean it again. When I went to pick it up the second time the oil stains were still there and now it also has a black mark on the other sleeve. This blouse was what I was going to wear to my son's wedding. I will try another place but at this point the blouse is ruined. In My opinion, if you have a special item or you love a piece of clothing, you might want to reconsider using this company. I will be voting with my dollar and go elsewhere. read more

Great experience a few years ago with a stained shirt, but in 2019, what a miserable experience with overpriced, poorly done alterations. Pants hemmed are too long -- with the shoes I wore in the store. A small repair was made to a shirt and the work looks grim. And the prices are high, though after the first experience, my thought was that I would pay a relatively high price, get relatively high quality. By the way, when I dropped my items off, I did overhear a woman complaining about the price, $18, for one thing or another. I could go back and insist that they fix the pants, not that I have reason to be confident about their competence or any inclination to deal with their shoddy, lack of professionalism. They do all their work onsite and I recently took some clothes in for the first time in a long time since I don't live in that area anymore and although men and women's clothes are different, I never had a problem but I took in my boyfriend's clothes as well and his shirts weren't pressed very well. I brought suits here after reading the reviews, boy was that a mistake. Both pants that received alterations split in the bottom area the FIRST time I wore them. The first pants they fixed free of charge no problem. I brought back the second pair, and they said they would fix them free of charge too. Well, my wife went to pick them up, and the gentleman that worked there refused to give my wife the pants until she paid $5.75. My wife talked and talked and the man was rude and refused. Well, my wife called me, and needless to say I had an issue. My wife knew better than to have me go down there, so she went back and one of the ladies that worked there refunded her. I feel really bad even leaving this review, but it's such a different place from WhAt it used to be. I started going here about 15 years ago, I stopped about 5 years back cause I moved near a closer one. The place I've been going to was closed for 2 weeks so I went back to moonlight for a dress hem and straps tightened. For two dresses they wanted $115 in alterations. I almost choked! She told me she was giving me a deal?!? What?!? I've never paid this price before. She was charging me $20 for straps! And $30' for hem!! After I told her no I'm sorry my place is way cheaper she said let me see what I can do for you then adjusted my price to $88. Wait are you serious... you adjust prices ...this isn't a flea market?!?!? This is a business and where I'm looking for honest fair prices. I asked for my dresses back and she kept trying to bargain me. Such a joke. I don't recommend this place at all. I prefer the honest Masters cleaners any day. This is an excellent dry clean and alterations spot. The service in here has always been consistent. I remember having my senior prom dress worked on here and the woman who did the sewing did an amazing job. I had the dress taken in a little since it was a little big and it ended up fitting like a glove. The dress had very intricate beadwork on the bodice and there was no damage done to the detailing. Since then, both my dad and I have taken our jeans in to have rips repaired and we got them back as good as new. The same woman did the sewing job and she sewed the rip and inserted a patch behind to conceal the stitching. The service here is prompt and quick as well as the work. I took my jeans in on a Monday to have them repaired and I was able to pick them up on Thursday. Not bad at all and it only cost me about $15. I will definitely come back here in the future if I should need any more alterations on clothing! read more

I had a bridesmaid dress that I needed to fit into within three weeks. The fit was terrible for my body type. They hemmed it, took in the bust (darted it), fixed the zipper, and the straps for around 135$ I wasn't happy that I had to pay to get it altered that much in the first place, but another seamstress wanted to charge me $200! Even though I had to pay to get it fixed, she did a great job. I told her when the wedding was, she moved the pick up date closer. She did it quickly for prom season! it zipped! Just recently Diane completed a major alteration on a full length ball gown taking it from a size 12 to 6. it has a lot of intricate beading work as well. I've been using Moonlight for years. I can't recall how long they've been there. I'm just so happy to use them for dry cleaning, laundry or other garment repairs. It's nice to be called by name when coming in too. They have been great for emergencies too. I had to have a suit cleaned and pressed and ready before an interview ... they came through for my emergency. The service might be fine but the attitudes are questionable. I will explain. I went there with 3 American flags. They were brand new but needed to be pressed. I work for a funeral home and at our expense we give these flags to veterans who have died for their coffin. We have the flags pressed at our regular cleaners for 5 dollars but thought we would try a place closer and to include a Elk Grove business. The lady said 14 dollars. I said excuse me but they did not need to be cleaned but just pressed. This did not matter even after I told her what these flags were for. I guess American money is all that matters. This business came highly recommended. My first visit, I brought in a pair of jeans for a zipper replacement and was charged $18. When my husband put them on after repair, the zipper broke immediately. I could tell the original zipper had not been replaced. I brought them back into the store immediately and the owner wanted to charge me another $18 to repair. I began to question her why, as the original repair was not done in the first place. She started to haggle with me and said she would charge me another $9. At this point, another customer came into the store and was overhearing the conversation. I continued to question her, decided I would just take the pants elsewhere and she then said she would fix it for no charge. Next day, I receive a phone call from her and she tells me her assistant said the jeans still had the original manufacturer zipper. I explain that yes, we are in agreement about that, and ask her what she had done with the zipper, if she hadn't replaced it. I paid $18 and I would like to know what I had paid for. She couldn't answer and then starts to ask me why I cannot understand her. I tried very hard to explain the issue in many different ways to her and was getting nowhere. Then, she says that her assistant had never seen these jeans before and that I had brought in a different pair of jeans originally. I was shocked and very, highly offended by this accusation. I told her to do nothing with the jeans and that I would be in to pick then up and would take them to a reputable dry cleaner. When my husband picked them up, the owner tried to engage in an argument again. Needless to say, my experience with customer service was reprehensible. Communication is near to impossible and I paid for a service that was not performed. Too many dry cleaners in town to tolerate this type of customer service. Beware! read more
