Highly recommend the Conroe location. I walked in on a random Saturday and was welcomed right away by Dan Lewis. I explained the look I was going for and he understood the longterm vision I had in mind and helped me find the perfect foundational pieces to start with! I had so much fun picking out my trees: Japanese Blueberry, Pineapple Guava, and the Podocarpus. I actually came in wanting a magnolia but left with these because I had no idea about the many varieties of tree species! Dan being full of knowledge on each type of tree, carefully considered location, preferences, long term vision, and all the details to curate the perfect fit for the look I'm going for. I still will get my magnolia for my front yard next season because they were gorgeous. I want to note that I have seen comments on pricing being high with Moon Valley in general, but from my experience of seeing how healthy and well loved the trees are cared for, plus with excellent service both at the nursery and the crew putting the trees in, it's worth the quality investment and puts equity into your property. So plan a day exploring the beautiful variety of trees they carry and ask for Dan, especially if you're looking for a custom experience and have a longterm goal in mind! read more

5/25 Update: Reducing my review to 2 stars due to continued poor follow-through and disappointing customer service. Prior to posting my original 3-star review, I had already made multiple attempts to rectify this issue directly. For context, my baseline purchase was $4,000, and we had planned to spend an additional $5,000 (totaling $9,000) to add 15 Myrtle trees once the fencing was completed. Thankfully, we now know to take our business elsewhere. Before I posted the 3-star review, I was told by Austin that the manager, Bret, would be reaching out to me. That never happened--so I went ahead and posted the review. Only after that, on Monday, 5/20, did Bret finally text me and schedule a call for Tuesday, 5/21. He never called. I had to reach out at the end of the day and was met with the same excuse I had heard before: "We got so busy." That excuse was also given the last time I communicated to ask why no one had contacted me in the first place. In my text response, I clearly said I had given them every opportunity to make things right, but it was evident this wasn't going to happen. At that point, I requested a refund for the items that were ordered but not yet delivered. Bret finally agreed to issue the refund via text on 5/21--but as of today, 5/25, I have yet to receive it. In the meantime, I've sourced replacement roses from another nursery. I originally asked Moon Valley to retrieve the incorrectly colored roses that were planted despite my specific communication. I've received no response or direction on that matter, so I'll be relocating them to the wooded area behind my home. I want to reiterate that Austin and the planting crew did a good job with what they were tasked to do. Unfortunately, management's lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic follow-through has turned what could have been a positive, long-term relationship into a frustrating and disappointing ordeal. As of today, still no refund. Side note - Austin you need to open your own business. You will ruin your credibility with this company. Original Review Here's why I'm giving 3 stars instead of 5: Austin, the salesperson, is the reason I committed to this company. He selected the best plants for my yard, provided thoughtful advice, and offered excellent service--he absolutely deserves 5 stars. The planting team also did a great job with the three trees, 21 shrubs, 3 roses, and 1 potted Calamondin tree, so I would give them 4 stars for their execution. I'm deducting one star for the crew accidentally hitting the AT&T line during planting. While it caused inconvenience, I understand it had rained the days before and the orange marking was likely faint--so I can be fair about that. The biggest disappointment--and the reason this is a 3-star review--is with Moon Valley's inventory, planning, and poor communication. I was never notified that the full order wouldn't be delivered on May 13, and I only found out from the planters on-site. The roses that did arrive were the small size (I ordered big at $65 a piece and look big when I saw in store - see photo on what I got planted - is that big to you?) and wrong color (pink instead of white). What made this worse is that the rescheduled planting for the missing items was pushed out nearly a month, with no effort to prioritize us on schedule to rectify their inventory issue--despite it being due to their own poor planning. Went into Moon Valley Nurseries to look at a replacement tree as we had heard that they were a good place to look. A young lady named Caitlyn assisted us and was a wealth of knowledge. We were replacing a dead oak tree in our front yard and didn't want the HOA on our backs. Caitlyn was able to explain the differences between the different types of oak trees as well as the pros and cons of each tree. As she filled our heads with all kinds of tree knowledge, we were then able to make an informed decision on the best way to replace the dead tree. Moon would then come out and remove the young dead tree (extra nominal fee) and then plant a brand new Red Oak tree in its place. The tree is guaranteed and they would replace it should something happen during the first year. Caitlyn and Moon provided all the necessary information we needed to ensure that our new tree got off to a great start and grew naturally and correctly in our front yard. Was a new 8' tall Red Oak tree cheap? No, but the price was fair and Moon did all the work and guaranteed their tree and work. The tree planters did a fantastic job and cleaned up afterwords. We are sure glad we met Caitlyn and purchased from Moon Nursery. In looking around and talking to the other staff, we really felt that Moon Nursery was honest and a first class operation. But I had some of issues with the planting service and with the health of the maple tree that Moon Valley delivered. First I would like to gave a 5Star shout out to Daniel Martinez the Salesperson/Designer @ Moon Valley Nursery in Conroe. We were moving from North Dallas and building our Retirement Home in Montgomery at the time and noticed the beautiful trees @ Moon Valley Nursery. My husband and I decided to stop/walked-in, Daniel Martinez greeted us. He was very nice, informative and offered to walk us around the nursery to see the many types of trees; then he listened to us and offered to come out when our home was completed. Several months later we came back and worked with Daniel to select our trees, 3 very large mature trees (Burr Oak, Red Oak and Blazing Maple)! Even though our house wasn't going to be completed for several more months, Daniel said no problem we could purchase now and they would hold til our home was ready. Fast forward several months later; we contacted Daniel and even though he had been promoted to an Assistant Mgr. position at a Houston Location he said he would be more than happy to continue working with us. We were thrilled to say the least. We had to switch out from the Blazing Maple to a smaller tree due (Bottle Brush Tree) due to space (Daniel said No Problem) We were now ready to set the planting of our trees, it's Oct. and we decided to add a mature Crepe Myrtle, Small Cape Cod Honeysuckle Tree and 9 Azaleas Now to give 5-Stars to the Delivery Team, "Justin" was the Lead and his team of 4 hard working guys! WOW all were Friendly, Professional and very good at what they do in handling large trees. I called Rich Abate one day when I was concerned about my fig tree. Not knowing it was dead because of the freeze we had in the winter of 2022. He help me find a tree to replace it. Didn't even have to go in as he picked out a beautiful tree. Then the guys came out to take out the dead one and put the new one in. Jose and his crew were very professional. Clean up after themselves and very respectful in the area it was going into. They set it in the ground to make it look great in my memorial garden. Absolutely pathetic customer service at this place. I bought 3 trees (each 3 years old) in May for almost $1500 and had them "professionally" plant them 2 weeks later once they finally had time to do it. 2 weeks after planting, 1 of the trees died from transplant shock and they made me buy a $30 bottle of fungicide and try it in my obviously dead tree for a month before they finally came out and fixed it. All good now have 3 good trees and then 4 months later the big tree I bought suddenly died and turned brown in a few days. It got the same water and the same "Super moon juice" that they basically force you to buy. Didn't matter that it was watered 3 days a week as the other trees were, their quality control person told me well maybe it had too much water or maybe it didn't have enough water. Blah blah blah bottom line they're willing to charge me another $500 to replace it so that it can likely die in a few months. I used to be a major fan of this place and would have gladly recommended them but never again. They don't stand behind their trees unless you buy a very expensive warranty plan for a year and then even then after a year you have no protection. From now on I will go back to the big box store for trees and cross my fingers that they'll survive just as Moon Valleys trees forced me to cross my fingers. At least I will save a ton of money and will know that I got the tree I picked out vs not being given the one I picked out by Moon Valley. read more
