CAUTION CAUTION. I called today to cancel our service and was told I still had two years on my contract and it could not be terminated early. Sure enough deep in the fine print I have two years remaining. I can only cancel by certified letter at least 30 days before expiration or I am automatically obligated to another year. Buyer Beware!! The customer service and follow-up is horrible and I strongly caution anyone from using this security company. They have an auto-renewal in their contract language that will charge you 100% of the bill should you need to cancel, regardless of your reason for cancelling. It can be bad service, house under construction/remodel, etc....We had no notification of any sort that any ANNUAL auto-renewal was in place, as it is a monthly charge. While they may charge me for 8 months of unused service, I hope this message gets out and will prevent other potential clients from using their services. read more

Our security system was installed by Wired Technologies 20 years ago. Moon Security bought them out a while back. We've since called Moon to have additional sensors added and everything went well. We haven't had any problem with our monitoring service with Moon Security, one happy customer here. read more

Horrible! I repeat horrible. I have always paid up front the exact amount that is due. Today, I get an invoice for 4 months saying I haven't paid. Are you kidding me. My agreed contact says I should pay $55.90. I wrote a check for $670. 80. Well, it turns out they added me to an "opt-out" service. So, basically they added me to a service I did not want then told me to pay for this service. They did not inform me or try to contact me about this service.... Supposedly, they sent a letter for the service in the mail, but I had spoke to the sales rep 8 months ago to change my mailing address to make it the same as the billing address. I never received a letter, nor does it state in my contact that they can change the rates and add services... Did I mention I have been with this company over a little over 2 years and they have not once checked or stopped by to see if there equipment even is still working. Not even a service call. Oh, and there customer service is awful. I can see why businesses are moving to other companies. After I finish my 3 years I am OUT. Horrible, horrible, dirty tricks with "opt-out" programs to get you to pay more. It's disgusting. I will not work with dishonest businesses. read more

This company may have the worst customer service of just about anyone I've ever dealt with. They excel at charging maximum fees. We were charged $400 for essentially nothing. Despite many calls and begging They never came back to do the actual work. We finally gave up and went with another company. read more

Moon Security bought out an existing alarm company in Spokane called Solid Rock Security. I had an account with Solid Rock, a reputable company that performed flawlessly... no issues at all. That's where the nightmare begins. Moon Security took over and it was a nightmare. I had some issues with my system and scheduled two appointments to have the system repaired. On both occasions I took time off work to be there when the tech arrive. Both times, Moon failed to show up, citing "oh were sorry, it was a mix up." I lost money due to their unreliability. I strongly recommend that you do not do business with this company. read more

Their panel in the garage was able to be disconnected before a break in and there was no alert to them or us. They told us this was possible if the thief's knew what to do. Really? That was not part of the sales pitch. Apparently we had been paying for 10 years without real security. When we were left without security on a Friday, Moon said they couldn't get anyone out for repair for 6 days. Do not engage this company, you don't get anything for you money. read more

Don't go near this company with a 10 foot pole! I have been a customer of Moon Security Services for over 20 years but have found that they have not been able to update their systems like I would prefer. After having a sales rep come out in 2018 to see what they could do for me, it was clear they would not be able to build a system I would be happy with, but I didn't know exactly where to go so basically did nothing about switching systems for a couple of years. I will admit that while pondering this, my account did become late at one point, but I'm not sure how late it was because their invoice always says "Due on Receipt". I finally decided to bite the bullet and find a new provider so I called to cancel my service. That's when the trouble began. Unbeknownst to me, the contract I signed TWENTY YEARS AGO (!) had an anniversary date that would only allow the service to be disconnected within 30 days of that anniversary date. I couldn't believe that after being a customer for 20 years, they would treat someone that way, but they did. On top of that, they said the reason that they were holding me to the contract was because I had contacted them in 2018. WTH?? I guess I needed to contact them every year and tell them I was not satisfied with their service in order to get out of a contract that I wasn't aware of and never should have been in the document in the first place? When I asked for the name of the person who gave the final decision on my contract, it was not going to be given at first as the rep said she couldn't give out that information. I was told MY name would be passed along to him and that was all she could do. I finally got the man's name, and am waiting for the phone call lol. I'm sure that will happen on the same exact day pig's fly! In another review on Yelp, the president responded to another person who got stung on the contract/anniversary date and the president said, "Holding a 15 year client to an annual contract is highly unusual". After 15 years as a Moon customer and following several attempts to engage them for service at my 2nd home, I threw in the towel and went with local providers, for less than I had been paying as well. Unbeknownst to me, I had signed an annually renewing contract with them 7 years ago. I relaized that's my fault but when I called to cancel, their customer non-serivce rep didn't mention the contract nor offer to reduce my rate. Lo and behold, the next day I received a final bill for the remainder of the 1 year term. Their final answer, pound sand. If that's how they handle things, I'm glad I've left. read more
