For the gel manicure, they soaked the nails which was nice (I hate when places use the drill to take it off as it can be painful for me). Overall, seemed like a nice place. My first experience at Moon Nails was great! My boyfriend's mother loves coming here, her nail person is Kai (not sure if that's spelt correctly). The area wasn't too big or too small. There's street parking, as well as a parking lot for the public. I had Cindy do my nails and she was super nice! I went to Moon Nails for the first time a couple of hours ago. I mean this in the nicest way possible when I say this: my experience at Moon Nails was the worst experience I've ever had at a nail salon. I got there at about 12:45pm. When I walked in, I was asked to sign in on a sheet at the front - name and what I wanted. The color selection was somewhat limited, but the available options looked good. I was served pretty quickly. I just picked my colors and Lena took me to a chair for my pedi. Their pedicure chairs are all equipped with massage functions, which was a pleasant surprise. Lena was wicked nice and chatted with me throughout my session. However, I would describe her techniques and methods as being very chaotic. I also think there is room for improvement in her attention to detail. Lena was very liberal with all the products she applied to my hands and feet. There was also a lot of splashing and dropping of both liquids and tools. I was a little uncomfortable with how she closely she sat near me during my pedi, too. Her chest kept touching my feet, and so did her hair because it wasn't tied back. The mani was not much better. When I moved to the mani station, the first thing Lena did was turn on the light there, which was pointed at my face. She then left to clean up a bit while my hands soaked and the light shined in my face. As Lena was trimming the excess skin around my cuticles, she cut too deep into the cuticle and caused some bleeding. This happened with two fingers, and my other fingers had similar treatment but without bleeding. She explained that it happened because the skin there was very thin. This bothered me because even if that were the case, good technique can avoid causing bleeding. On two occasions, she also wiped the trimmings onto my hand instead of the towel. Until today, I had never experienced these things with other salons. After all was said and done, I left the salon at 2:45pm. That was the longest session I've ever had. One woman who came in after me for a mani-pedi left before I did. Overall, I was quite disappointed with my experience. The end results were kind of sloppy, which didn't help improve my experience. However, I may give Moon Nails a second shot at some point. They opened only recently. Hopefully things will be a little different down the road. read more

Scheduled a last minute appointment at 4:45pm for a basic manicure. My experience was ok, not the best service. I had to wait quite awhile before someone took care of my nails but that might be due to having a last minute appointment. It took them over an hour to take off my powder nails from 3 weeks ago and for them to put on a fresh paint (this is why I'm giving them 3 stars) I didn't leave the salon until 6:00pm.. which is a bit long if I'm only getting a manicure. I had an appointment to get my dip manicure removed, I had the dip on for about 2 and a half weeks. I was meet at the door by a man who immediately ignored me and went to grab another lady at the back of the shop. I told her that I had an appointment and she began to speak in another language with the man, shortly after he sat me down and started to remove my manicure. Let me just say- that was the WORST pain that I have ever felt at a nail salon. The man proceeded to DRILL off my dip manicure. When I showed signs of discomfort, he gave me a nasty look and gripped my finger tighter so that I wouldn't move. The man drilled all the way down to my finger bed which was bleeding by the time he was finished. When my nails were drying with a clear coat of nail polish- he walked around the shop laughing and giggling as if he enjoyed seeing other people in pain. In order to keep the peace and to not be viewed as a "difficult customer", I paid, tipped and said thank you before I left their shop. I don't usually write bad reviews especially since COVID-19 has a lot of small businesses struggling. But, these business owners showed zero empathy when a P.O.C. (Person of color) was uncomfortable and in pain under their care. I will NOT be back to support this business and I hope the owner reads this and researches a better way to treat their customers- I know when I'm being mistreated and I refuse to spend my money at a place that doesn't respect me. read more

This was my first visit here. Upon walking in, it is noticeably very clean. For a Sunday, the salon had quite a few walk-ins looking for appointments which made it seem very popular. They had me soak the rest of my dip polish off from 12:15-12:55 which seemed a bit long. The staff is very friendly and they had a nice selection of colors. I went to Moon nails today on a whim because my old salon didn't have the chrome powder that makes your nails look super shiny and cool. I was SO impressed by the facility and the service and just everything! Ky was so careful and overall awesome. This is seriously my favorite manicure I have ever gotten! I will say the pedicure from amy was great - the dip from Kia was good they did a good job. What I am not happy with is that when my nails were bare they had drilled off all the dip that I was needed to be charged 5 extra dollars because of my long nails which they are not long enough for an up charge! I'm only giving them two stars because they took me in after hours. They put on a bad powder that peeled off at the salon and said it was my old place that used bad powder. I ended up asking for the set to be removed and they only filed them down so I still had some nails with acrylic and some without. Now, 3 days later multiple of my gel polish nails have peeled off and also the ones they left with acrylic broke. They also cut off my cuticles to the point of bleeding. The gentleman took me right over to a chair filed the tub with steaming hot water and their I sat until I finally got out of the chair @11:15 and started wiping my feet to leave. At that point the owner came over and tried to tell me that she would be with me soon. I said I have been sitting here in the now cold water for 30 minutes with no one saying a word to me.
