Food allowed to be brought in! The guy at the counter was really nice and recommended some drinks for us new folks. The ambiance was cozy and on game night Monday, nerdy! Tons of different games! It looks very LGBTQ+ friendly based on flags and some decor around. (I am not a dry / bitter alcohol lover as a foreword) The meads really were lackluster compared to others I've tried. A lot were dry or bitter even if they were called sweet. My favorite was the Strawberry Rhubarb Mead but it was still dry. When I think of honey wine, I think sweet. I absolutely didn't love the butterscotch mead, smelled like old lady and tasted so bitter. I DID like the after taste of the vanilla latte one but it was not great warm. Parking was a big annoyance for me. I know it's not the shops fault but there was not any close parking and it's only on the street. Thankfully it was free parking past a certain time. Overall it gives the similar vibes to Gizmos in Durham.

Game night! Moon Dog has several different themes during the week. I come on Mondays and Thursdays for their game nights, but there is an open mic on Sundays, dancing with a live band on Fridays, and karaoke on Wednesdays. The staff is friendly, and they make and bottle their own award-winning mead on-site. There's no food sold, which means it's ok to bring your dogs, and folks do. There is a large refrigerated section on one wall with loads of local and national brews. They have a lot of games for customers, but on game nights, many others bring games (and some snacks) to share. A great community has built up here over the past two years, and it's only growing. Come join us - and bring your dog!

This brand new meadery and bottle shop is a bit of a hidden gem. Located under Joe Van Gogh on Broad Street drop down a couple of flights of stairs to a cavernous space. What used to be a fencing club is now a subterranean bar offering beer, mead, wine, and board games. It's a chill space and reasonably priced, I could see it being popular with the Duke crowd. The space is still being built out along with its in-house mead so be patient. Over the long run they will be adding a stage, live music and more but enjoy it for what it is right now...

Moondog has pretty much any board game you could want to play! It's a great place to hang with friends and have a beverage over a game. I also like some of the local art (see pictures)!

Been wanting to try this place for awhile so after a stroll at Duke Gardens we stopped in late ona Saturday afternoon. The place was very quiet. There was only one guy working, assisted by his beautiful husky, and a few people browsing the beer selection. I wanted to try their mead so after checking out their cold and warm beer selections (pretty extensive) I made my way over to the bar. The guy working quickly assisted me. I ordered a flight. My favorite was the Blood of the Dogs, a mixed berry mead, though I didn't love any of them. The place had a very relaxed vibe with tons of board games but I have to say my favorite part was the sweet husky who sat on my feet and let me scratch her ears. She would get up to check out anyone new entering (great guard dog) and then return to me. I'd definitely return but probably try some new beers instead of the mead, and remember my glasses so I can play board games!

I've been to the Raleigh location as well, check out the review if you want to know more. Panysaurus over all is a cool place (either location) but they have drastically different vibes - which in my book is a good thing. The Durham location brings you an awesome patio scene! The bar itself is a bit small but their indoor/outdoor approach makes it seem huge. The patio is two floors, both covered, one just off the bar and the other right about that which has a few TVs for those interested. Off of the patio is a nice size "beer garden" sitting area complete with picnic tables and a great view. If you are looking for chill family friendly patio vibes this is the place to be! I really love Ponysaurus beer, their pilsner is nice but their kolsch is my favorite. If you've been to the Raleigh location, the Durham menus is not the same. Yes they have pizza but it doesn't seem to have the same options - still good though. We went with a hankering for the hummus we got at the Raleigh location, again the Durham location had hummus but a different variation. One thing that's consistent with both locations is the amount of pita that came with the hummus, there is nothing worse than getting a huge bowl of hummus and only a few pieces of hummus or chips. Both locations knocked it out of the park. Plenty of WARM pita for everyone. This location is somewhat self-service, the bartender obviously poured out beer and there is a cute window for picking up snacks but no table service.

Both a natural winery and natural cidery, this place has something for everyone. With an INCREDIBLY laid back experience in mind, I recommend you visit this site on a nice day, bring a picnic and enjoy a selection of thier best offerings in thier back yard. My wife and I recently came for their anniversary celebration, where they had wine sampling, live music, and a pizza oven. With such a great space, such great beverages, and fun music, there is nowhere I would have rather been. Now let's talk about their beverages. We had samples of their wines, and we also bought a flight to ensure we sampled the full spectrum. All of their wines are made using the natural method, which means that they have exactly one ingredient - grapes. Their wine brand goes by the name of DeFi, and these are all NC and VA-procured grapes, fermented and bottled on-site. I especially loved each of their Pet Nats along with the Piquette Rouge. These wines are all bone dry and bring in some wanted natural notes, which I love in natural wines. Oh, and their ciders! I had never heard of a Pet Nat cider, but now I am all in! All deliciously dry and complex with fun added fruit flavors. I am especially fond that they use the only North American tropical fruit - the Paw Paw in their ciders. The produce used in their ciders is harvested locally as well, and with the amazing combination of different apples used in their ciders, each is unique and delicious. They also have an amazing little market with local specialties, which is based on an honor payment system (something I have rarely seen). If you are anywhere in the Raleigh-Durham area, I highly recommend stopping by and enjoying the amazing offerings here. You will not regret stopping by.

I was hoping I would not be disappointed. Downtown Durham on Parrish Street I do believe. I went there midday and there was a sparse lunch crowd already seated when I arrived. The warmly lit space presents nice aesthetic as you walk into the restaurant. A very chill and comfortable atmosphere. I love the bar and the mirrored wall nestled behind it. The spot is pretty laidback and very clean, but has a bit of a rustic nuance to it as well. I like that. The serving staff were extremely nice and helpful towards advising me in making my selection -- with me being a first-timer and all. I kept it simple...I chose the Classic Burger (pink) with pepper jack cheese, bacon marmalade, and as a side, I had to go with the Dirty Fries -- 'cause that's how I roll y'all. About the food: I have to say, the burger was staunchly built and crafted with artistry. Nice and tall with a seriously tasty bun encapsulating everything. Perfectly well-seasoned meat and the first bite was simply delightful. I noticed as I got towards the center of the meat, it was bit less juicy than the surrounding parts of the burger, but nevertheless still tasty. My Dirty Fries were delicious In the end; the experience as a whole was quite delightful and I would definitely like to go there again -- perhaps try a different burger to expand upon my experience with this place. Gotta try out That Bar y'all! I do recommend it for those who haven't had a chance to go by there to check it out.

Even before me an my party entered we could hear music playing from the building, which kept the vibes up! Moving onto the food, a certain menu item caught my eye. Something that I'm legally obligated to keep quiet about... but let tell you- this burger was Gooood. This "Signature Secret Burger" was rather unique, as it was like you took a pretty simple egg burger, and just ramped it up. My initial thought when I first tried it was that it was a burger squared, the mystery ingredients amplified the flavor to make such a savory meal. It wasn't to overbearing like many other burger places that I've visited, not immediately making me feel fat and full after taking a few bites. Our party also ordered a whole quart of fries, and they were SO GOOD!!! I'm a sucker for good fries, and you knocked this out of the park! Your fry soft was nice and mellow and complimented the fries perfectly. (And even afterwards, the fries warmed up really well and were still Really freakin' good!) Finally, during my visit, their anniversary event (Happy 15th By The Way ) and they were offering FREE DESSERT for someone who happened to sit in a randomly chosen seat.
