Special right now was Pagash, a Pierogi style pizza from NEPA. Mashed Potato, onion, cheese. It had great flavor. The star of the show was their breadstix. I could've downed like 10 of these. Well, I threw my Tesla in the trash all because of a system malfunction. Now I'm back to what I…read morelove most: European cars and a stick shift. I decided to get an older car so I can shift into lower gears without a computer messing things up like on that stupid Tesla. While waiting for my European car to get turned up at the mechanic shop, I decided to go on a stroll--but not just any ordinary stroll. This was a walk through the neighborhood to get some pizza at Subway Café. Just by the name, you would think it's underground like a subway in New York City (which I would never ride, purely because it might stink and ruin my appetite). Instead, I stopped into this hidden gem to grab a pie. Of course, I ordered a plain, original pizza, well-done. I'll tell you, this pizza was different--just like me. It had the sauce on top and the cheese on the bottom. The restaurant actually told me the secret to why they get it so crispy, but I'm not going to share that; there are too many leaked secrets in the world already! And not by me This spot was great. It was small, old-school, and had a vibe that felt like Brooklyn, New York, which I think has the best pizza. However, these are not your normal-sized New York slices; it's more of a personal which makes it very unique. As I bit into the first slice, it was like fireworks in my mouth. The sauce had a very rich taste, and the cheese was excellent with a perfect pull. I could tell it wasn't just cheap cheese bought from a local grocery store. Someone put their heart and soul into making this pie. The dough--which is the best part--was amazing. The pie is a flatbread, but the crust had a slightly sweet taste that I really enjoyed. Just talking about it right now is making my mouth water! I highly recommend this place and their pizza. If you're really hungry, grab two for yourself--I'm sure you won't regret it. I hope my review helps you decide why you should get your next pizza from this spot! B L E E AKA Branden-Lee Butler

I will agree this place is pricey, my husband and I got 1 beer, a cup for water, a slice of pizza and a turkey sub for 25 dollars. These day 25, doesn't feel like a lot of money. Maybe it is a sign of the times? Here are good things- if you like beer they have 100+ on tap. I wouldn't say family friendly but if your kids are loud, they will fit right in. They have a wine list and cocktail list. You can open a tab and order food and beer on it. It is clean and the staff at the food counter is friendly. They have outdoor seating. If they aren't busy, service is quick. Here are my cons - It is loud and I agree that the beer list isn't really reader friendly you have to stand close to the bar and read off the wall. When it is busy, it is crowned and overwhelming. They have orange crushes on the cocktail list and when I asked if they are made with fresh oranges the reaction of the bartender was *while laughing* "no, no way" - well, that isn't an orange crush, it is a screwdriver. I was in a good mood or his reply would have set the tone for a pretty crappy time. IMO: I would go here again, if my husband wanted to but I would rather grab a sub from a smaller mom and pop pizza shop with a six pack and eat at home.

Visited on a beautiful January Tuesday around 5pm -- prime "let's grab a casual slice and a drink"…read moretime. Ordering was simple enough. We grabbed three pizza slices -- bacon cheeseburger, meat lovers, and buffalo chicken ($5.25 each), two bottled waters ($2.89 each), and two adult beverages from the cooler: a Wynridge Cider Co. Pumpkin Spice cider I had been wanting to try and a Pizza Boy Mangoes Hazy IPA ($5.50 each). One small surprise on the bill was a mysterious 4.80% service fee (in our case, $1.57). I assume this covers table service since the staff brings the food out rather than calling your name. Not a huge issue, just something to be aware of when budgeting your visit. Total came to $35.67. Let's talk pizza. The pizza itself was perfectly fine -- hot, well topped, and satisfying enough for a quick meal. But compared to other local spots serving really strong pizza, the pricing felt noticeably higher...about $2 more per slice (sometimes more depending on the comparison). And while the pizza was good, I personally didn't find anything that set it apart enough to justify the difference. I finished one slice and could have easily gone for dessert afterward, but after the slice pricing, I didn't even bother looking at the dessert case. Sometimes the wallet makes decisions before the stomach does. The Pizza Boy Mangoes Hazy IPA was the highlight for me -- bright mango flavor, smooth, and light enough that I could absolutely see having more than one if that's your vibe. Parking was easy with spots right out front, plus additional signage pointing to nearby overflow parking if needed. Overall, the experience was...fine. Nothing bad, nothing frustrating, just nothing particularly memorable either. I ate pizza. I had a cider. And then I left. Their slogan is "Pizza. Beer. Happy." For me, it landed somewhere closer to: Pizza. Beer. Content.

The service, well, it's pretty straight forward, counter, order, drink sodas and wait. The ambiance, well it's beautiful but it's always been kind of dark in there. I recommend it every time though. A few highlights from my visit: Fun retro atmosphere with arcade games, throwback music, and nostalgic décor. Regular events, including trivia nights and other activities. Detailed menu descriptions that clearly explain the ingredients in both the food and drinks. Plenty of parking available behind the building, around the corner from the donut shop. Clean and well-maintained bathrooms. Relaxed environment, especially during off-peak hours. For the food and drinks: The food was good, though nothing particularly memorable. The cocktails leaned on the sweeter side, but the menu does a great job describing what to expect, so there were no surprises. When I visited around 5 PM, the restaurant was fairly quiet, which made for a laid-back happy hour experience. Overall, YAH Brew is worth checking out if you're looking for a fun atmosphere, retro arcade vibes, and a place to unwind after work. Between the games, events, and unique theme, it's a spot I'd return to, especially for happy hour or a trivia night.

I wish they could somehow separate those that want to participate and those Who Do Not. So besides the noise level we had fun. We were a group of six women. Waitress was great but couldn't hear what her name was, yep we are back to the noise. Beer was great, I had the pumpkin ale and asked for the sugared rim! Not your typical pumpkin ale but the waitress did try to explain that prior. Others had wine and the manhattan special, all were happy with their choices. Let's Talk Food. Margarita pie was on point. Lobster tacos were very good but you only get 2 and they are small. Chicken sandwich with hot honey was as expected. Potato soup was flavorless and was drowning in cheese, pass on this it doesn't even look good. I tried the schnitzel special. I was feeling the October fest vibe here with my Ale. The flavor was great because of the pork belly and the mustard grain dressing. But to put this on a sandwich was ridiculous. I can't imagine anyone eating this as a sandwich. The meat is supposed to be thin this was not. It was tender and not overly breaded. Schnitzel is thin! then to add to it they tossed on a mushy potato cake that you buy from the frozen food section. Bread was crusty as it should because it's baguette. But again DONT MAKE THIS A SANDWICH. It should have just been an entree with a side of potato cake that's easily whipped up,add a green vegetable then pound your meat thinner and you would be selling out at the end of the day!

Ambiance: 4/5 Nice, typical brewery vibes -- quiet, laid back, and a great space to hang out with friends. They have some neat arcade games in the back which is a fun touch. The outdoor seating exists but could use some freshening up to really elevate the outdoor dining experience. That said, it didn't take away from the overall experience. Solid spot. Service: 4/5 They did a really good job accommodating a large party. Not the most stellar service I've ever had, but no complaints. Great job overall. Drinks: 5/5 This is what they're known for, and rightfully so. Great beer selection -- tasty and a solid variety. Five out of five on the beers. My wife got the strawberry lemon drop, and she absolutely loved it -- said she could have had fifteen of them. It reminded her of a drink we had at a fancy bar in Vancouver that she hadn't found since. The fact that we found one in Central PA that matched it exactly is a real testament to the quality of their drink program here. Food: 4/5 When you look at the menu, you'll think you're in for a fine dining experience. Pump the brakes -- you're at a brewery, and the food is bar food. Good bar food, but bar food. We got a wide variety: * Wings: 3/5. Good, but could have been crispier. * Duck Fries: 5/5. Absolutely banging. Great truffle flavor. Would not hesitate to order these again -- highest recommendation at this establishment. * Nachos: 2/5. Big portion, I'll give them that. But subpar... just didn't do it for me or my friends. Try it yourself, but don't say I didn't warn you. * Harvest Salad w/ Crispy Chicken: 2/5. Twenty bucks for a small portion with a forgettable dressing. Would not order again. Overall: 4/5 Don't let the menu fool you into expecting fine dining. It's a brewery with a unique and wide-ranging menu, and they do a good job with it. Get the duck fries. Get the drinks. Enjoy the vibes. You'll have a great time.
