The park's walking path surrounds a lake and you'll probably encounter a giant teddy bear statue and teddy bear garden in the park along the bridge area. The landscaping here is prestine and breathtaking with the grass freshly cut and trees held up nicely. Plenty of residents walk here with their dogs or have picnics here. You'll also likely see some people working on their photography skills with photo shoots here. And you may run into a flock of ducks here adding to the tranquility of this park. I've been going to this park for over 54 years. It is still as beautiful now as it was back then…read more It is an easy 7.5 mile walk from the house or 9 miles if I stick to the formal trails. My last three trips were for this year's Memorial Day activities in support of Carry the Load. This park comes to a new life when there is a large event such as the very noble Carry the Load. Reverchon's beautiful greenery, powerful oaks and gentle rolling meadows are accented with the dark reddish sandstone walls and structures that soothes the soul. It is almost like a slice of Eden.To see this impressive park comfort those grieving as they remember the fallen military, police, fire and other first responders validates its role as a magnanimous friend. It fosters the catharsis and healing needed by many. The trip up and down from the Katy trail (which is high above) can be as challenging as you want to achieve and as beautiful as you want to view. I like the winding stone steps. There are observation terraces, conversation pits, and nature everywhere. It is shielded by quiet Dallas high rises just far enough away. The quiet serenity at night is in contrast to its vibrant life during the day. It retains the natural attraction whether it is a hand full of park goers to over ten thousand. It's great for the dogs, kids and oldtimers like me. There are some sport facilities for the team sport athletes. And of course there are the trails. There is a lack of immediate parking which I think helps retain its natural beauty . There are lots and streets to park if you decide not to go on foot. The adjoining recreation center has all you could want or need. The food and drink options are not too far away and some are world renown. If you need mental cleansing or some quiet reflection, Reverchon Park is the place to stroll.

There is foam matting to break falls (because we know they will happen), there's bench tables as well as other places to sit. I liked that the park was set up for different ages and was inclusive, however we apparently went on a day when most kids were out of school so there were times that the big kids were running around and almost knocking over the little kids or big kids playing in areas that are intended for smaller kids. Would we go back? The kids loved it and said they had fun and want to go back so that's what really matters.

My then-7 y/o son was able to climb 8 feet up a structure for its intended use and jump off "on a dare" by other kids and ended up in the ER. I've also assisted with autistic children that elope and get separated due to the multiple exits. There are also multiple places to have a party, first come first served. This also makes things extra crowded. I haven't been there in a while since the heat, but I am hoping they will maintain a good-sized field because independent play (soccer, football, kite flying, etc.) are just as important as playground structures.

Nice park. We wanted…read moreto enjoy the early evening weather and take a stroll. We stopped by Debusk Park since they have a nice walking/jogging path. The trail runs all the way around the park. Most of it is cement, but there are sections of it that are bridges made out of wood, so watch your step. It helps break up the monotony of running on you average sidewalk. The path goes up and down some nice hills, through heavily wooded areas, and right along the side of some residential streets. There is a opening where you run next to and cross over a creek, so I can imagine that the mosquito population here can be pretty heavy. Be careful and wear some DEET. Probably the crown jewel of this park (for some people, not for me), is this huge play ground. When I say huge, I mean HUGE!!! It's a pretty massive structure of wooden beams and planks to climb and play on. The path cuts right by it, so if you take it the whole 1.44 miles around, you'll pass by it! Cool place if you want a change of scenery and a nice trail to walk. If you're close by, take a walk and enjoy Mesquite!

Harwood Park is another and final step (of four) Priority Parks that Downtown Dallas Parks Conservancy built in partnership with the Dallas Park & Recreation Department.The space, which was previously several parking lots and vacant buildings, broke ground in late 2021 and opened in September 2023. Today, it is relatively large park with features including a large playground area, a sport court that accommodates both basketball and pickleball, a couple of dog parks, along with an interactive water feature. To set it off, there is a gold ring pavilion which is located near the Harwood and Jackson Street entrance.  There are multiple table/chair sets throughout the park which will be useful socializing over a cup of coffee or food from the area. Also, a plus for this park is it and a center that houses restrooms for the park which are well maintained. I look forward to continue experiencing all this park has to offer.

They have this cool slide/rope climbing contraption that kids 5+ can enjoy. We broke the rules a bit and let both our kids (4&2) play on it before it got too rowdy with older kids. The slide can get busy so it's wise to be careful with the little ones. For the smaller kids there are some toy houses and another climbing contraption with ropes and other balancing items. Right off the playground is a nice hill so if the weather is good, I'm sure you could roll down it! This park was overall a pleasant experience and kept the kids entertained.
