I would not recommend moods pubs to anybody go there for breakfast. First called to place a order and when the person answer they seem dumb founded about placing a irder for food and confused unsure. so drove to location to place an order after finding it in the menu and being told what's available to be told. was told by the bar tender the person aka cook is taken a interview, so the food would not be started till after that in which could be 15 to 25 minutes. In turn, the food will not be ready for 35 minutes to 45 after that , No sense to wait at a bar for an hour plus for to go food. Could we be any more unprofessional location these days? Came in for breakfast left with nothing we'll not recommend to anybody will not return. Sadly moods pub has lost my business as well others when I post this to the food sites and yelp. read more

The most underrated establishment in The Region. The service is great! The music on the touchtunes jukebox is played at the perfect volume, not too loud or too soft, normal volume of conversation is maintained. The drinks are inexpensive and are of high quality (Bloody Marys, Long Islands, etc. all great). Excellent food! Breakfast is great and I'd recommend any of the burgers (Jamo Burger is great, but I'm a fan of the Blue Collar Burger, which includes bacon and an egg). I felt compelled to write a review for Moods after seeing the previous post by a fellow Los Angeles resident. Moods is a fine bar with cheap beer and a couple pool tables. If what you're looking for out of a bar is cheap beer and nice servers, this is a fine place to stop. I'm pretty sure the jukebox with all the "affronts" to music is one of those internet gizmos, so really, you can play whatever you want. Even if your taste is something awful like dubstep, 80's kitsch, or techno, you can find it there. I personally have a very fond memory of throwing darts with my Mom, sharing a pitcher, and putting $5 in the jukebox and finding all the songs I wanted to hear (for the record none of those songs were Nickleback, Puddle of Mud, or Buckcherry. I do agree with Rich M. that those bads are real stinkers). As far as the decor of the bar goes? It's a goddamn bar and it looks like a goddamn bar. As far as the smoking goes? If you have a problem with smoking in bars, you might want to avoid any bar in Northwest Indiana and contact your local lawmakers, since that is a complaint that should be directed toward them. The previous poster talks about how this is like any other bar in the area, but he hasn't had the misfortune of frequenting them. If this bar was so bad, why the hell would you continue to frequent it? There are no shortages of bars in Portage, let alone in the Portage Mall, so go somewhere else. read more

Popular Portage bar for 20 and 30 something's to wash away the sorrows of small town life. Hit or miss for a party atmosphere leading to even more fun and debauchery!! Good times have the potential to be had, but it's going to be as fun as the people you go with and the good times that you'll make of it. Is it the best bar? No. Is It the nicest bar ever? No. I will give them this though, while the place may not be the best bar ever, the people are friendly, the drinks are cheap and the shuffle board game is on point. While I wouldn't say I'm a moods regular, I can say with confidence that it is a down right dang good time at that place. Cheers! read more

Went here for the pool tables. Its a decent place with at least a few craft selections. People are friendly, and its not a total dive. It was pretty crowded when we were there, mostly younger crowd. Not sure if they served food, but we just went for drinks. Nothing to brag about, but I might stop there again. read more

Being new to the area, we seem to be starving for good eating/drinking establishments. I mean starving! We have pizza,tacos and gyros coming out of our ears!! Had lunch, The burger was great. I think safe to say best in Portage, but their aren't many non chain choices around. Fish tacos were solid too!! While it is mostly a dive bar, I like dive bars. The outdoor bar is a great place to hangout! Pool shuffleboard and darts are cool. Keep up the good work, Portage needs you and a few more! PS....someone mentioned the "chef" in a review on here. I'm relatively certain they didn't pay for a chef! Lol. read more
