After getting a bit bored with our daily breakfast spot, we tried Café Montroig. It's a huge café open to the street, with a high glass roof indoors. Montroig also has open air tables in the back, plus seating rows on the street front. We avoided the front since that's where the smokers sit and the smell wafts inside. The breakfast menu is extensive with every kind of egg option, breakfast style and espresso coffee choice imaginable. You'll be sure to find something on the menu. I chose the English Breakfast one and it is a big breakfast. Imagine American Breakfast without hash browns but with baked beans and tomato slice. I just got the American the next time. Both were nothing special, just basic. Friends liked their cold cereal and fruit offerings. Service was off both times as the young servers didn't come by enough, forgot to bring requested items or even forgot orders. Food took forever to arrive, and not all at the same time. We were on holiday and really had nowhere to rush off to anyway. read more

Had to reduce the rating as after going to far more places in Sitges, it becomes clear Montroig relies entirely on its ambience, which in truth, give are where the 2 stars are going to. The service, if nice, is unresponsive and mess up more often than they get right. If rude, they're still unresponsive and mess up, but now they're rude about it too. Don't even try to order iced coffee, as it's cafe con (a single icecube) hielo, and becomes a disgusting watery concoction. The eggs, bacon, toast, and any other breakfast food you can make on your own everyday are pretty bad. Just don't come here, I promise there are other places you can people watch with a much better experience. read more

We've been to this restaurant twice this week. We experienced above average food (breakfast n coffee). On our 1st visit to Montroig Cafe, we had a female server who was friendly and gave us good service. However, on our 2nd (and last) visit, we had a few of the male servers waiting on us. The male server who helped us at the end was lazy, incompetent, rude, and a horrible server/waiter ! We will not be returning to the Montroig Cafe in Sitges. read more

Skip it. No, really. We got the eggs and the mushroom omelette. I'm not sure how you can ruin eggs, but Montroig definitely did. The poached eggs were like stale and runny but not fluffy or mouth-watering. The mushroom omelette tasted like cardboard, and basically the only thing that was edible from the order was the toast. One pro: people watching while sitting outside is fun. read more

Probably my favourite place in Sitges to relax and chill out with comfortable seats and a roof which can be closed in cold/wet weather, completely open, or just shaded. There is a €0.30 premium per item for sitting on the 'terrace' which is basically the street. Better to go inside and relax in the much more comfortable chairs. There is also a delightful garden to the rear. There is decent wifi which is simple to connect to. Service is not always the quickest, but who's in a rush anyway? Nice, bright, clean modern restrooms. The Estrella on draught is always delicious, and tastes so refreshing on a hot sunny day. Full waiter service, and the prices are reasonable too. read more

On Sitges main drag (of the same name) and on route to and from the beach this is a popular gathering point and very family friendly. It's also enormous with an extensive front terrace, rear garden and internal atrium. Bright, airy with gentle easy listening background music it is a 'relax station' in the hubbub of Sitges life. A good range of typical Spanish bar food - bocadillos (French bread sandwiches), salads, burgers and the ilk. The salads are great (mine was chicken, mango and alfalfa) and tasty nutritious smoothies (acai and blueberry for me). Not a regular haunt but great for a breather and refuel. read more

Very pleasant, open from morning till late. The food is average, what makes this a place to visit is the free WIFI. Just take your laptop and order a drink. Very spacious, tables out the front to watch the world go by and additional outside space at the rear. read more

I normally panic when faced with a large array of restaurants and bars in which to choose to eat atI'm rubbish at making such decisions, always striving for perfection. As I didn't know Sitges too well and we were all pretty ravenous we happened on this lively looking place, whilst on the scheme of things didn't quite look like the small back street family run restaurant we were after, nevertheless did a good job of feeding and watering us rather well. Huge space inside (reminded me of an old Wild West saloon) with another eating area out back (which is where we plonked ourselves). Very pleasant too, sat amongst vines and various plants and wildlife (tame birds popping in to say hola). The front seating area was full of folk people watching to the point that walking down this street feels like a trip down a catwalk. All good fun though. Standard fare is served here, nothing too adventurous but the sandwiches/panini's really hit the spot. Friendly service if a little slow at times, but hey we were not in any rush that day. read more

Do not order the mojito. It's overpriced and very weak. The black salmon sandwich is delicious, recommended. Servers are friendly!

This is my favorite place to relax! The chairs inside are very comfy and the seating area outside is perfect. I ordered the Tiger spiced chai latte and it was delicious - Though I haven't tried the food. Will definitely come here often when in Sitges :) read more

The food here is pretty good for breakfast and dinner and it's a great place to just sit and watch people walk by. The best part is that it also has FREE WIFI! I like the open air feeling of the place - it's very spacious and has high ceilings. VERY CLEAN restrooms too. read more

I came for a late breakfast. It's was a beautiful setting, but it took a while to get a waiter's attention. My delicious eggs came quickly (albeit with a little eggshell for extra calcium), but I had to remind them 15 minutes later to bring my coffee. They seem to be understaffed, but the location is great and the environment is very pleasant. Just be prepared for a leisurely visit! Revised: I decided to eat here again and have raised my review from three stars to four. Service was better this time; perhaps my timing was just poor before! read more
