Back in July, 2 of my dogs were boarded for about 6 days. When I picked them up, I had noticed there was blood on the floor in the lobby, but didn't think anything of it. We went back home and when I was unloading the dogs in the car, I saw that there was blood all over one of the floor mats. After further inspection, it was one of my dogs. They had clipped the quick and was bleeding while still in the facility. He had a rash that was really bad, had hives, lost the hair behind his ears, and had a double ear infection. I was not told any of this when I picked him up, but you can physically see it. He's never been back. On Monday, my sisters cat was showing some pretty disturbing signs. She wasn't eating, drinking, using the bathroom, balance issues, or had any energy. She was just stiff. She was set to have an appt with them on Friday, just to get shots but I called to see if they could see her then. We went there and they checked out her out. They said it was an upper respiratory infection. They gave her some injections, did some bloodwork, and gave her some medicine. Throughout yesterday, she wasn't getting better, but she wasn't declining. Around 10pm last night, she took a turn for the worst and was rushed to VCA's ER. We then found out that it wasn't an upper respiratory infection, it was something neurological and her eyes were twitching. They kept her overnight to see if they could turn it around. 5 AM this morning, we got a call that she did not make it due to organ failure. The bloodwork showed that. Her liver and kidneys shut down. It was probably something she ingested, but it is unknown on what. I gave them a pass for my boy and took him to somewhere else, but I wasn't expecting them to drop the ball on something like this. My sister's cat was failed terribly. They told us over the phone that they ASSUMED it was an upper respiratory infection because she had one in the past while she was at the humane shelter before she was adopted by my sister. So basically, forget trying to find other causes and just give her all these treatments that cost almost $400 that did nothing. We brought her to the VCA ER and it took them no time to figure out what was going on. It was never an upper respiratory infection. Do better.

The front desk area was organized and they were ready for patients the moment they unlocked the doors. They brought me back into an exam room and the vet tech who came to speak with me was so kind and professional. Communication was great. The facility is beautiful and the layout / color scheme is very welcoming which is a wonderful and thoughtful touch... didn't feel like a white washed hospital. Blown away by the amazing service received here today.

Before I even moved to Montgomery people were recommending River Paws to me! While interviewing for…read moremy job I had multiple people tell me about River Paws and said it was the best place to trust to watch your pet, and they haven't been wrong. I can't go to a dog park in town without someone mentioning River Paws, and have yet to hear anything but glowing reviews. I leave my pup here multiple times a week for daycare, and she's also had a bath and has been boarded here. She's a pretty high maintenance dog, but the staff are always accomodating and she seems to love them all as well as her time there. I also can't get over how affordable River Paws is while still having such great service. I've paid double the price (or more) elsewhere and wouldn't prefer them at all to River Paws.

We boarded him for a week and got a call from Dr. Savannah Mashburn on Friday saying not to worry but he has a quarter size red area on his head where it looks like he rubbed it on the crate. She said it couldn't be a hot spot because that's caused by licking and he cannot lick the top of his head. She said she would shave the area to examine it better, apply Silvadene and E collar. I agreed to the treatment. I didn't have a good feeling so after driving 8 hrs on Sunday, I decided to pick him up instead of Tuesday. Got there and he was lethargic, had not been shaved and top of his head was hard and matted with white cream on his snout. An E collar was on and under his neck was wet, red and swollen. They had prescribed antibiotics and I asked to speak with Dr. Mashburn because it looked like he had been bitten. She said the tech didn't mention that and she would look at the video footage. I immediately took him to another clinic who treated him appropriately. Stay away from this clinic if you care about your animals!

We were forced to transition to East Montgomery due to new work schedules and their opening hours. Our dog has begun showing all kinds of behavioral issues since going to East Montgomery that he never showed at the other vet. He is terrified to be dropped off and protests, desperately acting out so that we will not leave him. Compare this to his last daycare where he LOVED going and was very happy and polite being dropped off. We are removing our dog from daycare here. They have a very small "yard" and I have a hunch the dogs are not actually getting much play/socialization time. Unacceptable, especially for the higher price they charge. If you love your dog, this isn't the daycare for them. No comment on the veterinarian side. Have not really used them.

They had a chart that had the instructions we repeated six times written down and highlighted. The last three times, we asked them to repeat our simple instructions, "same length all around." After our last visit, I returned my dog to get his tail and ears trimmed to the length we requested. They agreed that his cut did not match the one we requested, so they took him in, trimmed his tail, and walked him back out without trimming his ears. When I asked for them to trim the ears, they said they had no time but would call me back when they did. They never called, so I called them and made an appointment. Then, the day before his appointment, they called to let me know they would charge me for another haircut. I'm giving them two stars because they try hard to be friendly.

Before, she was unable to be near other dogs, couldn't let her off leash unless we were completely alone, and constantly worried about her in public. He taught us how to correctly read her and understand her so we could then set her up for success. He used lots of desensitization, counter-conditioning, and reinforcing positive decisions to communicate to her the correct response to things that scared her. We are able to reinforce her trust in us now, and now have gained priceless knowledge for both ourselves and her. She has been able to greatly reduce any anxiety and stress she has and we now have a much stronger bond and can see a visible difference in her. We are thrilled with the work Clint did with her and how he gave her and us the training to allow her to live in a much happier, stress-free, and confident place.

I have been using Dr. Golden's Services for almost two decades for all of our pets (cats and then…read moredogs). We use them for boarding, day care, grooming, and medical services. They have been consistently friendly, welcoming, professional, and talented. We have never had an issue with them, including with payments, procedures, or pickups. They have been flexible with us when we ended up not being able to pick the puppies up on time, and our dogs are always incredibly eager to visit for boarding and daycare (and happily exhausted when we pick them up)! Everyone knows my husband and I by name, and they love our dogs and are excited to see them when they come in. I cannot more highly recommend them and their business.
