They have always shown compassion, professionalism and are reasonably priced. The doctors make you feel like your situation is the most important thing going on. We had a situation a couple of weeks ago that reinforced our opinion of these amazing caregivers. We brought our 14 month old Cocker Spaniel puppy named Brees in one morning because he couldn't urinate. Dr. Danny Mount immediately diagnosed bladder stones. Within the hour he performed successful emergency surgery. He called and let us know all went well. He was going to need hospital care for a couple of days. We went to visit our puppy the next day and as they were bringing him to us he started having seizures. It was very sad and scary. Dr. Mount immediately gave him meds to try and stop the seizing. At the same time he began trying to figure out what was causing this. He dropped everything when we were there and spent at least an hour or more talking to us. Eventually we had to leave and planned to come back the next day. We came back the next day and Brees was still in the same condition. Meanwhile Dr. Mount along with his son Dr. Jonathan Mount had figured out the problem. I won't get into the diagnosis, but I will say that it was something he had his whole life and we had no idea. We found out that Dr. Danny could check on the animals via cameras. He saw that night that Brees was not doing well and at midnight he drove an hour and spent the entire rest of the night taking care of our puppy. After another morning of talking with Dr. Mount and holding our puppy we left again with plans to return on Saturday. Dr. Mount also decided on a plan of action to treat Brees. Saturday morning Dr. Danny called and said he had been there again most of the night with our puppy but he had passed away at around 4:00am. I went back to the clinic and Dr. Danny and Dr. Jonathan spent all the time I wanted talking to me. We feel very confident the two doctors did everything they could to make our puppy well again but it just wasn't to be. If you want to take your animals somewhere that you know they will get amazing care then take them to "Pet Care Center".

The first time I was there with my Dog everything was fine, the facility was clean, people were nice and informed me well and the price was as they had said. The second time I was there and dropped my dog off for teeth cleaning, I had already gotten a price and was told what they would do etc. So when I went back to pick my dog up it was chaos in there, dog doo doo on the floor along with blood on the floor etc. I went to pay and all of a sudden it was 50.00 more than quoted to me. They brought my dog to the inside door and she could not walk. I ask what was going on and I could hear young kids in the back laughing and doing what kids do. She was wet and could not walk and I began to get really upset, so I am 70yrs old and my dog is a big as I am and I picked her up and carried her to the truck. Got her home and called another Vet. they told me she should not be this way and I should call them and ask how much drugs she was given and for how long. I did so and they could not answer me and came up with a BS story. Based on what she did tell me my dog had been under all day and only was taken off drugs when I got there. That is not what I was told when the vet called me to tell me everything went well. Then to only see and find out that only the outside of her teeth were cleaned. The inside had not even touched. The bottom line is, this place can be Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. I personally will not take my dog there again or return for any reason! Note: I grew up on a farm so I know a few things and of course have seen a lot of animals being treated for different things. You can trust me when I say, its a damn good thing that I got there when I did and she finally did came around. I took her there about 7:30am and my guess is she was put under right away, then they got busy with something else and just left her. Thank you, MT

I'm making this post on the behalf of my sister. If your pets has Taylor Crossing as their…read moreestablished vet, I would reconsider. I have had 2 incidents with them and they're not good ones. Back in July, 2 of my dogs were boarded for about 6 days. When I picked them up, I had noticed there was blood on the floor in the lobby, but didn't think anything of it. We went back home and when I was unloading the dogs in the car, I saw that there was blood all over one of the floor mats. After further inspection, it was one of my dogs. They had clipped the quick and was bleeding while still in the facility. He had a rash that was really bad, had hives, lost the hair behind his ears, and had a double ear infection. I was not told any of this when I picked him up, but you can physically see it. He's never been back. On Monday, my sisters cat was showing some pretty disturbing signs. She wasn't eating, drinking, using the bathroom, balance issues, or had any energy. She was just stiff. She was set to have an appt with them on Friday, just to get shots but I called to see if they could see her then. We went there and they checked out her out. They said it was an upper respiratory infection. They gave her some injections, did some bloodwork, and gave her some medicine. Throughout yesterday, she wasn't getting better, but she wasn't declining. Around 10pm last night, she took a turn for the worst and was rushed to VCA's ER. We then found out that it wasn't an upper respiratory infection, it was something neurological and her eyes were twitching. They kept her overnight to see if they could turn it around. 5 AM this morning, we got a call that she did not make it due to organ failure. The bloodwork showed that. Her liver and kidneys shut down. It was probably something she ingested, but it is unknown on what. I gave them a pass for my boy and took him to somewhere else, but I wasn't expecting them to drop the ball on something like this. My sister's cat was failed terribly. They told us over the phone that they ASSUMED it was an upper respiratory infection because she had one in the past while she was at the humane shelter before she was adopted by my sister. So basically, forget trying to find other causes and just give her all these treatments that cost almost $400 that did nothing. We brought her to the VCA ER and it took them no time to figure out what was going on. It was never an upper respiratory infection. Do better.

The facility is beautiful and the layout / color scheme is very welcoming which is a wonderful and thoughtful touch... didn't feel like a white washed hospital. Blown away by the amazing service received here today.

Animal Hospital Of Montgomery - Dr. Louis N. Gotthelf

I am a new Client of Dr. Gotthelf's practice. Contrary to the few negative reviews I have seen on…read morethese rating sites, I found him to be very nice, personable and knowledgeable. He is clearly, as his credentials state, an authority and expert in his field. Rarely do vets specialize in particular animal conditions (vs. specific species or Animal Husbandry) in my experience, but I am glad he does. My Service Dog, Madame Moiselle, presented with a yeast infection in her right ear - I thought it was ear mites and he educated me thoroughly and properly on her exact condition - without being condescending or short. He is clearly a good educator and lecturer. Everything he said coincided with my own research. Madame is a rescued Pittie/Lab mix and very powerful. When he and two other techs could not physically restrain her to complete the ear treatment, he stopped. He sent her home with medication after a shot of Prednisone to ease the animal's discomfort (which was actually caused by a skin allergy on her belly - Pitties are prone to skin conditions...) until I could bring her back so he could finish the treatment properly under mild sedation. When I brought her back, she went straight to him, no hesitation. If he had associated pain with her last vist to Dr. Lou, she would have torn him to shreds. Instead, she couldn't wag her tail enough when Staff took her to Dr. Gotthelf! I also brought in my new puppy, Creed, with her for his first shots. He is also a Pittie Mix rescue. Both of these animals received so much love, attention and playtime that they did not want to get in the car to go home! I found the charges to be reasonable and appointment scheduling to be flexible and accommodating. As for the Staff: I found them ALL to be friendly, polite and professional. They have always referred to me as 'Sir', Mr. + my surname and treat my animals with the utmost kindness and care. I also have a pair of rare, champion Siamese show cats (Mei-Li and Yao Ming) which ONLY get the very best medical attention that money can buy and have gotten it since they were kittens.... They are due for their annual shots - and they are going to Dr. Lou. I usually do not take this much time out of my day to write a review. In fact, I rarely if ever, write them. But this one was worth the time and effort to write, if for nothing else, to debunk the negative comments I have seen... So, unless Dr. Gotthelf is also Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde, I don't think those comments apply accurately. I look forward to continue taking my Fur-Family to Animal Hospital of Montgomery!

This had not happened before. We talked with the kennel manager because we were concerned she was not being taken out in a timely manner. Awhile later, this same situation occurred again. We were told they were treating her properly and this could happen. We had to unexpectedly board her 2 days this week and when we picked her up this morning, her bed was given to us wrapped in trash bags and we were told we needed to wash it that she had urinated on it. When we got home and unwrapped the bed, not only was it wreaking of urine, there was poop all over it and it was way past needing a wash. It appeared our dog had laid in this. Also, we took her food and there was food remaining in her bag so we're not sure if she was being fed properly. We got a new bed and will not be going back. We feel that our dog was neglected at this facility.
