I'm sorry to write this because they are a small business and have other great reviews. I left a…read moreclarinet at Clemmers in June 2024 for an estimate because it was given to me for my son to start playing in fourth grade in September. In August I stopped by Clemmers in person because I couldn't reach anyone by phone for a while or leave a message. The clarinet had lost the claim ticket and instead of an estimate, it was repaired. It is a Selmar instrument. My end of the claim ticket states after 60 days the store can keep the instrument. I paid $375 for repadding and repairs. The mouthpiece was missing so I returned to Clemmers and they gave me a Bundy mouthpiece with a bent ligature. In February when my son added private lessons in addition to group school lessons the teacher said the keys where not making full contact with the body of the instrument. I took it for an assessment in Pottstown and was told the pads were the wrong size and it was not aligned. I wrote to the owner of Clemmers with this information from the second assessment and left my cell number, email address and home address and no one contacted me. Today I had a few minutes so I stopped by on my way home from work and spoke with the owner. He said I should have brought the instrument back and the person who repaired it the second time was not certified to repair it like his wife is. He said she is one of only 24 people people certified in woodwind repairs. So he cant do anything. Which is probably right. Be careful. My interaction with Clemmers was awful starting when I dropped the instrument off for an estimate.

They had a great selection of used and new instruments and their pricing was competitive. I journeyed from a used piano to a new one to a digital in the end, which saves money on rising tuning costs and other considerations. I was a stickler to make sure they were a qualified service center of this brand to avoid future headaches if an issue ever arises. I'd give them an excellent rating and I hope they read this. My child and her cousin were so sad -- we weren't even there for 30 minutes before we had to leave the pool. They said it was boring and not fun at all . I felt so sorry for them because they didn't get to enjoy the experience they were looking forward to.
