Montegrillo dropped their menus into our complex's mail slots and we are so glad they did! We've only ordered delivery so far, but it has been wonderful! The freshly baked bread that comes with a dinner or salad is glorious. It's always warm and perfectly baked. You can tell that the chicken is cooked per order and their ingredients are incredibly fresh. I'm no salad person, but even their salads are delicious. The staff is friendly and accommodating with complex orders (my mother is extremely picky and always alters what's on a menu)... they always get it right! I never expected a pizza shop's salads to be so good! The Chicken Salad is very good. Very fresh. It doesn't taste like junk out of a can. The Grilled Chicken Caesar salad is also very good. They have an excellent "sport salad" that is perfect for someone that needs a meal with substance but also diet conscience. It has grilled chicken, cucumbers, tomatoes, provolone triangles, pepperocinis... Comes with a great warm roll. Its the perfect meal, I haven't tried anything else at either location here or Pennsauken so all I can recommend is this salad which I order often! Although my experience with their menu is limited I would go as far as to say that their Grandma Pie is the best pizza I've ever had. I am a long time customer. Always ordered pizza and wings. In all my times ordering there, I have experienced on 2 different occasions that the pizza and wings were not good compared to previous orders. Most recent one, we ordered. Large pizza , half mushroom n sausage and on the sausage half, it was nasty. According to them, They thin sliced the sausage and it shaped like bacon and it didn't taste like sausage but greasy. Very good pasta and thin crust pizza. I have a few complaints about their wings and french fries. The fries have a disgusting coating on them which makes them taste awful. The "buffalo wings" have a similar disgusting coating on them. They don't even toss them in sauce - they just put the sauce in a little plastic cup. Buffalo wings should have no breading on them and should be tossed in whatever sauce you choose. read more

I just had the worst experience at Montegrillo Maple Shade, I placed an order and when the order came, I had over $10 on my bill for the food that I ordered .They just added $1.50 to $2.00 per dish and when I called to make a complaint the man on the phone was very rude told me that I had an old menu that's the prices and basically too bad. I did go online to compare the prices and the menu online did not reflect those charges I was charged . Will never go back or refer anyone to eat there again. read more

They use fresh, high quality ingredients, like you'd expect from true Italian owners from Naples (famous for their pizza). The cheese, pepperoni, and sausage are just better than the competition, plus their prices are very reasonable. There's a lot of options around here, but I keep coming back because for that winning quality/price combination. Btw, if you bring kids or grandkids, try to get a booth, especially the large round one in the front corner for crowd control. read more

OK but kind of disappointed based on five star reviews here, however I don't know about food other than pizza and wings that we ordered. Pizza crust was a bit gummy like it was microwaved. I wasn't too impressed with the sauce on the plain pie. The large pizza was nice and big though. I prefer the NY Style Pizza I've gotten elsewhere. Wings were breaded not meaty. I've tried really hard to like Montegrillo. We often order from a pizza place down the street but we sometimes want to change it up a little. My family has ordered several times and have found that the food is very hit or miss. Cheesesteaks are good.. but a bit dry (esp. the chicken) and the rolls are very large and almost overwhelming to the steak. Still, they're decent sandwiches. Definitely generous in size. The fries are alright but have been pretty soggy every time we get them. The time we ate in the restaurant, no one ordered fries so I can't comment if that's just from them being in transit. They still have a good taste though and actually reheat rather well. The "Mainstreet" fries are good in theory (a lot of places have them) but failed in execution. They came with whole strips of bacon laid on top rather than crumbled. Am I supposed to eat an entire piece of bacon with each fry? I just didn't get that thought process. The dinners we tried are okay at best. I ordered chicken piccata and my wife had the eggplant parm. She thought hers was good but she has had eggplant from many places and said she's had much better. I had the chicken piccata and I was not a fan. I found the chicken to be very bland and I wound up eating none of it, only the pasta that it came with. The sauce was fine, although it could have been a bit more flavorful and seasoned. I added my own which made it a bit better. If I had had a fresh lemon, I would have squeezed some on top as I didn't get much of a lemon flavor at all. The fresh roll the dinner comes with is very good and delivered warm. Our biggest issues are with the soups that came with the dinners. We have tried 3 soups and only one was even edible to us. We found the "chicken pastina" and "manhattan clam chowder" to be very unappetizing. The first thing you smell when you open the chicken pastina container (they arrive in very nice containers) is grease. The taste was no better for either of us. That went completely uneaten. When you go to open the manhattan clam chowder, be sure to keep napkins handy because your hand will be COVERED in red oil. This is the oiliest soup I have ever seen. We tried to skim some off the top so we could at least taste the soup and it was quite an ordeal, getting oil all over. It was a shame actually, as the soup does has a good taste to it. However, even after skimming off some of the oil, our napkins were covered in red/orange oil after dabbing our mouths. We threw it out after a few bites because it was a bit ridiculous. The only bright spot in the soups we tried was the cream of broccoli. That was very good and tasted fresh. Overall, I think we've given up on this place. While the staff is very friendly (they really are very nice), we just don't want to take our chances on inconsistent food anymore. $40+ for dinners that go more than half uneaten isn't very impressive. Heard great reviews but maybe I came at an off night because I was pretty disappointed. I'm not very picky, nor is my family, but we tried a variety of things from their menu and hardly anything seemed worth the price. Got a large pizza with the works, which had next to nothing for meat on it, and barely any sauce to speak of. The cheese was scalding while the bread remained cold after just five minutes after opening. Tried the chicken marsala and the chicken portofino and the sauces were scarce and watery, mostly collecting at the bottom. Then we got a steak stromboli which was more like cheese bread because there was hardly anything else besides those two ingredients inside. The seafood bisque however was very good, but most likely came ready-made from restaurant depot, and all of this came to about $70. My family is not even Italian but this quite obviously wasn't authentic by any means, but even so we just thought we'd share our experience for anyone like us who bought into the good, not-so-detailed reviews. read more
