Downside: bathroom is not clean but I know I shouldn't expect much from a park. Best part: little library right next to the tennis court. It also has a lot of trails! We saw 2 deers too!!! There is a playground for 2-5 year olds right next to a playground for 5-12 year olds. Across the grass from the playgrounds, there is a baseball field, with a basketball court next to it. On the other side from the playground are some very quiet tennis courts. Plus there are bathrooms, benches, and a fairly large picnic area up above. Also, there's walking paths around it and a canyon behind it. We took my dog today and did not see any No Dog signs, except understandably, on the baseball field and in the tennis courts. You should definitely keep them on a leash though because there are squirrels and other wildlife (deer, birds) in the park. Plus the park is surrounded by streets.

It also has volleyball, basketball, horseshoes, picnic tables, a grill, bathroom facilities, and a dog park. Though there is not much shade, there is a half wall around the play structures that provides seating for parents or other caregivers. There is also a wall to practice your tennis on, but no tennis courts. The people who we have met here have all been very nice and it is quickly becoming our favorite park, other than Dennis the Minnis. Our dog especially likes it but we wish there were more dogs there for her to play with. The only actual issue with the park is the sharp thistle weed that is growing everywhere. If the park managers don't do something to contain that situation, it will probably take over the whole field and dog park. There is a small parking lot and street parking around the park but most people seem to walk there from their neighborhood. It is definitely the best of the military parks we have been to, so far, but we are still new to the area. See ya there!

Dogs are not allowed, so there is only a few deer poops to contend with in the grass. There is also several large picnic tables throughout the park, so you can bring a lunch or sit and enjoy a coffee while the kiddos play in the play area. They also have small restrooms on site that are in reasonably clean condition. This park is only a block walk from a local coffee shop, or you can walk about two blocks in the opposite direction and be at Lover's Point. Bring a jacket though, as the proximity to the water can deliver some chiller winds when the marine layer is moving in/out.

This is a great community park, here in Monterey. It is always clean and most of the time it is…read morerelatively vacant. The location is directly south of the Presidio of Monterey. Located within this park they have a basketball court, a ball field and a small playground. I believe it is dog friendly as I have not seen any signs which state otherwise. The one thing to note is that in the later hours of the day, parking is very limited. However anytime before 3pm and you won't have any issues finding parking. You can enter the park from either Anita St or Monroe St. Be careful in Monroe, as the curbs are VERY high and your passenger door will hit the curb when you open the door. Also be aware that the area has a 2 hour parking limit, without local permit.

Their soft play is perfect for the under two's and they have the section marked off as off limits for the older kids. But the over two's have so many options to choose from: dress up, tree house, sciencey stuff, and crafts! We easily spent half a day here and probably could have stayed longer if there wasn't a nap time to plan for one of them. Something for everyone and as long as it's not too busy, it's relatively easy on the parents to let their kids roam and calmly monitor versus anxiously chasing after!
