The assistant manager Benny was inconsiderate, insensitive, unethical, rude, and disrespectful. He racial profiled me. He was unfair, unethical, and uncompetitive with my offers for pawn. I was offered more for my iPad Air 4th Generation with WiFi only then my iPad Air 5th generation with WiFi & cellular. I was offered $100 less for a newer product. The whole time he was speaking in Spanish with the other associates. I feel like Benny was very disrespectful, racist, and condescending. I was a long time customer. Where do I begin... My jewelry was pawned without my knowledge. The person who pawned my jewelery told me where it was but they had already moved out of the country. I took the loan contracts to the 1005 Euclid location and was given as much info as they were able to give me without breaking any privacy laws. I was told I needed a notarized letter, the contracts, my ID, an exact dollar amount, and the last day to pick up which was 7/21/17 plus a 10 day grace period. So far so good So I did my due diligence and brought in everything I was advised to bring in. Eduardo, the assistant manager, was assisting me. He advised that he needed to contact his supervisor to verify everything. I waited patiently as he took the contracts in the back and contacted his supervisor. Eduardo came back to ask if I could call the person who originally pawned the items to verify some information. I gave him the phone number (which was the same in their system) and he called himself and verified everything. After he hung up, he called his supervisor to advise that everything was a match. He hung up and was about to tell me the price (which was written down on the contracts from the first time I went in) but then his supervisor was calling him back so he took the call. After that call, Eduardo began to advise me that according to his supervisor I am unable to pick up the jewelry unless I file a police report. What?!?!? A police report?? I'm coming in with everything I was told and paying the full price. A police report for what??Well the supervisor said it was a federal law. I advised I wasn't pressing charges against anyone so what would the police report say. Eduardo called the supervisor back and was told if I didn't file a police report that by next week my jewelry would be listed for sale and I could come and buy it at the listed price they would be selling it for. I was livid and knew there was no such thing. So, on speaker, I called the SD police department. I explained the situation to the officer and she was even confused. She said they could not fill out a report without a crime (duh!). I advised her that I was told it was a federal law. She laughed and said well I'm not sure who wrote that federal law book but it isn't the same one the authorities have. So the supervisor is lying !!! Really?!? You're making it super hard for me to get my jewelry just so you could make even more money off of me! Wow!!! ABSOLUTELY WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! So Eduardo calls his supervisor back to say he heard the conversation and the police said there was no such law. The supervisor must have asked if I really called bc he said "yeah, right in front of me". I'm sure the supervisor was hoping I'd just accept that answer as they're the "professionals" but I'm def smarter than that. Eduardo was finally given the ok to give me my jewelry back but at a higher rate than was quoted to me. Annoyed at how long I'd been there already I went ahead and paid the higher amount. Then after collecting the money, instead of finally giving me my jewelry, Eduardo tells me that his supervisor said since I brought in the last term contract instead of the current ones, it was going to be more expensive. I asked who the supervisor was and for a number to call and make a complaint. Eduardo told me he couldn't share that info with me At this point I just got up and drove to El Cajon, picked up the current contracts, went back and picked up my jewelry. Btw, do not sell your jewelry here. One of my rings was sold to them instead of pawned. Monte de Piedad bought it for $84 and want to sell it to me for $411 and that's after giving me a 30% discount. Trust me....sell to a jeweler, you'll get more for your gold! read more

Wow what a difference between this location and the University location. I have never had a great experience at this location. I have been multiple times and each time have been offered at least 20% lower then what the store off of university has given me. And employees are so rude and unprofessional and not willing to work with you this location is so much more convenient for me but I will not be returning after my last transaction today thanks to the male employee who was so rude and a smartass.
