We were looking for something short-term, sort of straight to the point. We were willing to of course work on ourselves as long as needed but we are also more action-oriented people and wanted someone who would be a sounding board and then suggest some paths we could take as a couple. Baya was recommended by friends of the family for couples work. She was really relaxed and responded with empathy but also a lot of tools which is what we were really looking for. She worked with us in response to our own goals as a couple, and didn't push her ideas on us, but more so recommended things we could try. We got what we needed and moved forward. We ended up moving out of San Diego, but if we still lived there, she's someone we would see again for a counseling refresher of sorts if needed.

Debbie's positive, client centered approach creates a balance within sessions that is equal parts supportive and challenging. The connection and personalized relationship she fosters with her client's is by far the best part of working with her. Debbie also goes above and beyond for her client's, and never makes you feel that the time is a burden on her. The space she holds for client's, mixed with her research backed approaches to couples work, have allowed our marriage to flourish in ways we never even knew we wanted. The experience has been so positive, that we've even been able to get many of our friends to invest in couples therapy of their own. Every hour spent with Debbie inspires not only our dedication to our marriage, but positively impacts my own work as a therapist. Working with Debbie is an investment that we never question, as we feel the reward of this kind of work as a couple far outweighs any monetary value. It's a gift to work with someone who invests so much of her own energy and passion into her work with clients.

Weeks go by and so I follow up and then the person asks me all the same questions again and then says the same exact thing...they'll reach out to the therapists.
