Finally got help when we said out loud "Maybe we can find someone who works here". No real help was offered. We asked about bedroom furniture and were told that they mostly work with designers. Oh, really? We looked at area rugs and window coverings, but again, no assistance was offered even though there was absolutely no one else in the store. So...maybe we don't look like we can afford their furnishings? Maybe we aren't their type of customer? We definitely felt like they had no time for us. We took our business across town, purchased everything we wanted at Distinctive Furnishings and even ordered some of the exact items we saw at Etc from Distinctive Furnishings at a lower price point. Beautiful store, but the customer service is sorely lacking. We won't sully their store with our presence again.

Instead, I was blindsided by what can only be described as a full-scale North Pole invasion... in early November. There were trees. There were lights. There were carols. I swear a ceramic Santa winked at me while I was still trying to process the fact that it was 72 degrees outside and my jack-o'-lantern was still holding on. Don't get me wrong -- I love Christmas as much as the next caffeine-fueled Midwesterner, but I'd at least like to digest my Halloween candy before I'm peer-pressured into buying an elf-themed potholder.

Primitive Porch just moved into this location in February, 2018, which use to be the home of Lighthouse Christian Bookstore. They kept the book section and Cafe from the Lighthouse Bookstore. Smoothies and sandwiches are just steps away from the shopping. You can easily spend an hour plus browsing all the unique pieces throughout this large store. Seasonal items are gorgeous, primitive everything (well, almost), all types of candles, beautiful quilts, florals, pottery, shelves, cabinets, furniture and so much more will keep you busy. The second floor has a large women's boutique with a dressing room and even more home decor. Jewelry and scraves can be found downstairs by checkout. Outdoors, by the entrance, is patio furniture and garden decor plus many cement statues. The staff was so helpful and friendly! The prices are reasonable and affordable. Distinctive Home Furnishings is located near Menards, and I hope they're here to stay. After I received my tax refund, I decided to take a look around. My old Flexsteel had popped a spring, and because it was kind of beat up, I thought a new recliner might make a nice treat. They had some BEAUTIFUL floor models, and had catalogs showing almost any variation you could think of if you wanted a different color or material. In some cases, they had less expensive options if you don't have a premium brand budget. After running into some health issues, I had to take a new recliner off my wish list. However, being an authorized Flexsteel dealer, they were able to assist me with the repair of my old recliner. Because Flexsteel offers a lifetime warranty on their springs, I was able to breathe new life into my old recliner, and my back has thanked me! If you have a repair done, just be ready to wait. Those things take time, but totally worth the wait. I'm grateful for their help, and when I have a recliner budget, I'm heading back as fast as I can to get one!
