At this point, I'm willing to forgive the $290, but I'm posting this so that everyone else will know to be careful.

I recently proposed an exterior project and he quoted me $11700 in the beginning but later promtly reduced to $7500 because another 5-star vendor offered $6600 to do the project. I tried to negotiate a $6800-$7000 price to still perform the project with Miller Precision Painting but he rudely rejected with strong emotion. Based on my simple math calculation, he likely over-charged me by 36%. Also, Mr. Miller is just so arrogant during the whole communication process. I invited him over three times to meet in person but he never showed up as the appointments were. I am guessing it is because I have a foreigner face here and he never took me seriously. Overall, I have no problem with the quality of service provided. But the pricing and the communication needs to strongly improve.

However, as they progress through the project, they find small faults in your home and claim that major repairs must be done. For example, if there is a small crack in the wall, floor, or the roof they try to their best to convince you to fix those for thousands of dollars, even those repairs are not even necessary. If you refuse, they get mad at you and say that "it's not their responsibility" if something worse happens to the house. They claim that they are "roofing professionals" and doing handyman service as their side business. However, they really don't know what they're doing and don't even have all the tools needed to do the job. I only hired them in the beginning because all the other handymen in town were too busy. But these guys had all the time in the world and now I see why. This was honestly the worst experience I've ever had with a handyman.

Having the interior of your home painted in the time of COVID could have proven to be an incredible inconvenience. But I can honestly say that working from home while Mike and Josh (and their colleague Matt, for one day) was a pleasure. They treated our home with a tremendous amount of respect and care. I was so impressed with the attention they paid to every detail -- whether it was the walls and trim they were painting, or the furniture they were moving to make room for their work. Mike listened carefully to what we wanted to have done to the house, and he and his team executed on that plan flawlessly. And though they worked carefully, they also worked amazingly fast -- the entire downstairs of our house was painted in three days time. Any time they moved an item, they painstakingly replaced it in the exact same spot. Perhaps most importantly, I found Mike and Josh to be incredibly kind and thoughtful.
