Eating while writing this. I got the carne asada fries and they are so good! they come with a drizzle of sour cream and adding the salsa verde adds to the flavour. the salsa isnt to spicy, its perfect. My boyfriend got the al pastor mulitas, and they are also really delicious. the horchata is perfect too! a good way to start or end a date with. side note, the fries do have a lot of cheese. i personally like it like that, however my boyfriend kinda doesn't so its up to how youd like them! :) they have great service as well!! read more

do you know once upon a time there's a place called monster tacos it was really good. The service was good. The quality of food was good, but since I don't know when it's gone to shit. They want to charge you for double meat and extras, but they don't wanna give it to you cause you're not there to pick it up in person or using the delivery services so they're like ok that screwed this person! I wish you nothing but karma! read more

Monster Tacos - Double meat, my ass! What is rip off you lost a customer - Food Trucks Near Me - Los Angeles, California

This place has very delicious food. Must try nachos fries and tacos. Their sauces are insanely good and their signature way they toast the tortillas for the tacos is what makes them even more delicious then just its flavor. I've actually been. Coming here for quite some time 7+ years and I visited their truck in the very beginning over 10 years ago . They've been serving the same quality with such good energy for that long. They have BOGO deals on uber eats and available on other delivery platforms as well. The monster items are 10/10 shrimp and asada meat on your burritos, tacos & anything u order. Family owned and treat their customers like family. Located in a safe and nice area of gladselle park. read more

Monster Tacos crushed it. The wet burrito was massive and loaded with flavor, with the perfect amount of sauce and cheese without being a mess. The tostada was super crisp and stacked just right, and the al pastor tacos were straight up fire. Tender, juicy, with that perfect little char. Everything came out fast and hot. Easily one of my new favorite spots. read more

Orders on Postmates. Food was delicious. We had carne, fish, and shrimp tacos and Beans and Rice. The Beans and rice were very creamy. I don't know what others are saying but thought the food was generous. read more

Monster Tacos? More like Tiny Tacos. These things are smaller than my hand. Total ripoff --overpriced, underwhelming, and not even filling. Don't waste your appetite. And! they only gave us one red sauce :/ read more

Monster Tacos - Food Trucks Near Me - Los Angeles, California

This taco truck is the worst. Never ordering again because it was highly disappointing food. I tried their fried hard shell tacos (tacos dorados) and I feel like they're packaged not freshly fried tortillas. To top it off they came stuffed with refried beans and maybe two pieces of chopped chicken such a scam. The fish and shrimp tacos were also skimped on with protein as they put a whole lot of lettuce, tomato, onion and cilantro to fool you into thinking it's a big taco. Don't even get me started with the rice. The rice is overwatered and loaded with tomato sauce so much that it's not fried but instead mushy tomato rice. Absolutely the worst. I don't recommend this taco spot when in the eagle rock area, just go to Angel Tijuana Tacos!!! read more

GREAT spot love their Al pastor or steak tacos, delicious and super satisfying. I guess they aren't open weekends anymore which is super sad!! That's when I'm craving them the most lol. My go-to is the Cheese Enchilada plate, super affordable and tastes better than most sit down restaurants! Ughhhh I want them so bad right now but it's the weekend :''((( read more

To the naked eye this may appear to be a mere taco truck. Don't let the "taco truck" look fool you. Monster Tacos is serving up authentic Mexican food that is honestly better than any sit-down restaurant in the Eagle Rock area. The quality is so high, I genuinely think of this place as a proper restaurant, not just a truck. And the outstanding customer service is better than most restaurants serving the same cuisine in the area. Five stars all the way--it's an Eagle Rock essential. read more

Monster burrito aka surf and turf w/ green sauce hits the spot if you need a quick bite after a metal show/ Not the best, but not mid. Tasty and a good size. Crushed this thing and was happy. $12...I'll def come back. Cashier was nice and polite. read more

We were looking for tacos in the eagle rock area and came across Monster Tacos! The reviews were hit and miss and not super recent so it was difficult to make a decision to try this place. I started off with two carne asada tacos, a hard shell asada taco and cheese quesadilla. The carne asada wasn't super flavorful, but i squeezed fresh lime juice and that seemed to help. They were NOT stingy with the meat either!!! I ate one taco with red sauce and the other with green sauce. The sauces were good and had a lot of flavor. The hard shell taco was so yummy! The shell was fresh. It had beans, carne asada, lettuce, sour cream, and crumble cheese. My daughter had the quesadilla and she said it was yummy. I enjoyed my tacos so much i actually ordered two asada and another hard shell. I didn't catch the name of the lady who helped me but she was very nice and patient. I will definitely be back some time for that hard shell taco!!! read more

Would not recommend at all! My coworker and I ordered through DoorDash like an hour ago. I don't care if the food is cold it was the avocado for me, they gave me 4 tiny little pieces of avocado when I paid for Extra BTW. And also the avocado they put in it was old, black, expired whatever you want to call it. It was the avocado that had to be thrown away but they decided to put it in my food. Refund me if you are out of avocados or something. As a matter of fact I have worked in a restaurant before and the owner should never allowed this food to be served. On top of that it's over priced and doesn't taste good! Will not come back. read more

3.5 rounded up. I was craaaaaaaaving nachos but didn't want to deal with parking for king taco so decided to doordash from Monster Tacos. I ordered nachos with extra meat, which I def recommend to have a good meat-chip ratio. The cheese was cheese, nothing amazing but nothing terrible. They were actually really generous with it. Reading other reviews I thought the cheese would come on the side but mine didn't but the chips weren't soggy or anything so i had no problem with it. I didn't like that they skimped on the onion and cilantro though. All in all pretty good. read more

i always get the al pastor tacos, but i've tried pretty much everything on the menu. the nachos are good, the tacos are better; they're pretty greasy but that just depends on if you're into that or not. i used to order for delivery through doordash but lately i've been driving there for pickup. it's decently priced food, the service is pretty quick, and there's always parking since they're directly outside of a shopping area parking lot. i haven't had a bad order yet, so i'm not sure why some of the reviews are so low. read more

Monster Tacos - Disappointing I really wanted to like this place because the photos looked great, but the food was terrible. The tacos were super small -- even smaller than regular street tacos -- and still overpriced. The meat tasted weird, almost like it was washed with soap. No flavor at all. I ordered guacamole and got plain mashed avocado with nothing in it. The salsa was watery and bland. Just overall a really bad experience. Definitely won't be ordering from here again. read more

Excellent burritos! The quesadillas are great, too. Delivery is fast, and pick up is just as easy.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. This place is terrible the quality of the food is bad I had tacos they we're awful and portion sizes did not match the name or the price. They were the complete opposite. Tacos were very small and had no meat. read more

Monster Tacos - 5 Carne Asada tacos on Taco Tuesday! - Food Trucks Near Me - Los Angeles, California

Ohhh emm geee... only saw the reviews after eating the food! Luckily for me, I didn't find anything gross in my food, nor did it taste disgusting. Crossing my fingers I don't get food poisoning either. I found this place on door dash and of course when in LA you gotta have Mexican food. Let's get down to the food. Surprisingly, the monster nachos were SoOo good! It actually might be better than carne asada fries! The chips were freshly fried and crunchy; dripped with golden nacho cheese. For the protein, I opted for al pastor. The meat was cooked and seasoned well. Not dried out as some complained about. I also had the monster taco with al pastor. It included shrimp, avocado, onions, and cilantro. The flavor was there, but it definitely needed salsa and lime added to it. And I suppose it's called monster because it's twice the size of a normal-sized taco. Overall, my belly was satisfied and my taste buds were content. I'm hoping though I don't wake up with Montezuma's revenge. Oh! And did I forget to mention how cheap the food was? Nachos were only $8 and the taco was $5. read more

Sopes and red Chile are delicious! Kind of reminds me of a sope from Taco's Mexico back in the day. I do wish the lettuce was a bit fresher though. read more

The carne asada Meat tastes weird and old. It's chopped into little small pieces of meat that was refried again.

Honestly, I didn't expect this to be authentic spot but it is gooood. The carne asada meat quality is pretty good (above average), and their tortillas are yummy. Their green salsa is ultra mild and red one is pretty spicy (7.5/10 spicy level) imo. Taco tuesday they have certain tacos for $1 each which is 50% off their regular $2 price. Would recommend if you're in the area! read more

Well not sure how they came up with the name for this truck there sure is nothing Monster about the size of these tacos! They have a decent selection of meats and even something called Veggie?! IF you come in the early afternoon and Tacos Manzanillo Truck is still around, I recommend hitting up that truck instead of Monster, but for your evening taco run this will do in a pinch, this truck also "delivers" Post Mates, Grub Hub & Uber Eats so sometimes they get busy and food takes a bit long for what it is. Tacos ($1.75) https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/monster-tacos-los-angeles?select=cqyj3s1DEViywpH97yQ0BA on Corn Tortillas out of a bag, ok nothing special. Carne Asada - https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/monster-tacos-los-angeles?select=zU_XH0eVyDw3Wab7UIjcBw Guess they were running out of "Onion y Cliantro" the portion size is far from Monster, the couple pieces of gristle in one taco is bad, it was grilled nicely and did have good flavor. 3-Stars Al Pastor - https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/monster-tacos-los-angeles?select=MeWoPIB-Rmt_YjSFa_vnQQ No trompo, No pina nicely marinated, nicely grilled and like that it had some char. 4-Stars Birria de Res - https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/monster-tacos-los-angeles?select=mSHvlZI9sn9-3rsMSpcO6Q Big chunky pieces of Beef, would have liked it shredded smaller and a bit of consommé, but good flavor and hands down best taco of this bunch. 4-Stars Buche "Bien Dorado" ($2.00) https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/monster-tacos-los-angeles?select=l0yevWxOEohxajASIdL-zw I told the lady who took the order two times "BIEN DORADO" I want it fried crispy, yeah pretty much like rubber bands! Closest taco truck to my spot so I come here a lot. Decent tacos, not the best in LA by far but can't complain! Try the asada w red hot sauce read more

My friend and I came here for birria and wow what a let down. The birria is basically just a side dish? The tiniest tacos I've ever seen outside of Jack n the Box. The environment is super chaotic which is fine. It's a shared space with a bar. It's going to attract big groups and families but the whole place felt like it was selling the gimmick of various menu items covered in hot Cheeto dust read more

I am at an impasse for looking at this place. Ordered this a couple of nights ago in the hope of finding solid birria and nachos and saw this place had both in one dish so I was hyped. Ordered that an al pastor quesadilla and 4 flautas. Everything had its good and bad so I will list them accordingly. For the nachos I loved the generous portions of the chips and meat/cheese distribution. Off first impression one would think this would slap beyond compare but after a few bites I was proven wrong. For starters the birria don't even come with consome and was colder than expected. Second offense the cheese (prolly Kraft singles) had looked to have been microwaved as there was a massive pool of sweat at the bottom that ended up softening the chips into a decent pool. The quesadillas were the highlight though with size and portioning on point but the al pastor was so greasy that I had a hard time dealing with stomach aches afterwards as the grease had also pooled on the bottom of the plate. The flautas were dry and very lacking in taste and overall despite attempting to hit my Trujillos itch it didn't. Prolly won't be coming back unless it's in person to try to see if it's different but that's pretty low. read more

Love Love Love their Food! They have catered two of my parties, tacos quesadillas & tortas we're on point. The rice was perfectly cooked! Salsa's we're full of flavor. My party guest enjoyed every Bite. I will definitely hire them for my next party Thank You Monster Tacos read more

Food was amazing but a little costly. I got 2 quesadillas and 6 tacos with 2 sodas for $45. Definitely worth it.

Ordered an $8 veggie burrito with included salsa verde, it was delicious and hefty (not a wimpy lil burrito like del taco)! For that price, it was totally worth it. read more

I've only tried the Monster burrito and Al pastor burrito here and they were both really good. I saw the other reviews after eating and was slightly worried but my friend and I did not get any food poisoning whatsoever. Our burritos looked clean and well-made. The monster burrito has carne asada and shrimp, that one was delicious. The al pastor burrito was also good but as some others have already mentioned, the al pastor was a little burnt due to the marinade getting burnt too quickly during cooking. One star off for burnt meat. Other than that, it was delicious. The rice they use in the burritos is really good-- tastes different from other burrito places. read more

Sooooooo good. Tried the surf n turf monster burrito and was so impressed. REAL AVOCADO INCLUDED. Enough said.

I stopped by Monster Tacos today, I happened to see the truck parked and decided to try it out. I ordered an al pastor and asada taco. I got the choice if I wanted onion and cilantro on it too. Overall, it wasn't bad. I never had tacos piping hot like that so it was nice to try it fresh off the grill. Total cost for my 2 tacos was slightly less than $3. If you pay with credit card there's a $1 fee that they charge you, and they clearly have that posted on the glass. It's cool how the truck had a big tv on the side so they had the news on at the time. After about 1 minute after ordering my tacos were ready, it also came with a lime. They also had a great lineup of sauces. There was a spicy salsa (probably a habanero based salsa) and then another less hot red salsa and then two other green salsas. read more
