Even if you label things clearly there isn't a mover on the planet that will follow the directions. Your only hope is that they are professional, nice, and willing to follow your instructions. I lucked out with this move. First, and I am NOT one of those who gets hung up on an accent, but it does help a great deal when the movers can speak English. Do not hate on me. I have nothing against immigrants. The more the merrier. But when you are moving your personal items from one location to another it helps when they understand. The two guys that showed up for my move shocked me at first. They were the thinest movers I have ever seen. I found myself worried for them as I had a lot of heavy items. The phrase "don't judge a book..." was thrown in my face as they were very tough and strong. They moved with a balletic precision. One took the upstairs, the other the downstairs (I felt bad for the upstairs guy as that's where the lions share was). Within 2 hours, the mess that was my apartment was cleaned out of boxes and furniture. This didn't mean they weren't careful, they were that professional. In between trips we all joked around keeping it light. When we got to VA, they were very quick with unloading the truck. This however is where they lost a star. There was quite a lot of stuff they brought that I had put to the side as I didn't need it. Additionally, they didn't put one of the pieces of furniture together correctly or follow my instructions on how I wanted it. It was a tiring and confusing day. Additionally, they must have left one of my pictures on the truck as it's missing. Same with my microwave that I kept bringing up. Oh well. Each move presents it's challenges and expenses. Speaking of expenses....this was the cheapest move to date. I was very happy with the final cost. All in all, they worked hard on a confusing move. I just wish they unwrapped some of the furniture before leaving!

Myers Fl 2-1/2 weeks ago, signed a contract and was GUARANTEED a pick-up date for today, and a pick-up window between 8:00 am - 10:00 am. I called Mike at the dispatch office to assure everything was still on track for today during that time period, and also first thing this morning. When I spoke to him this morning he assured me everything was fine, and the driver would be contacting me shortly. Well, after the 10:00 am window had come and gone, and no one at any of their phone numbers would answer my calls, or return my messages, I had a friend call from another number, and they answered that call right away! After my friend spoke to the driver, he called me and stated the he was just crossing the S.C. border headed to VA. It's now almost 11:00 AM. He now tells me that he would be there between 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm vs. 8:00 am - 10:00 am window. There was no way that was going to work within my time frame. I had to cancel my flight, rent a truck, and find someone to help me pack it, in order to get to Ft. Myers in time to start my new job. As well as drive the truck to Fl. I'm certain that if my friend had not called from another phone number, I would not have even heard from the driver until late afternoon, and my travels plans would have been ruined as well as jeopardizing my new employment. Now no one will return my calls or even discuss my deposit I've already paid. I'm reporting this to every outlet possible. *********BEWARE********

During the move, multiple crew members disappeared for periods exceeding one hour without explanation. One mover took particular notice of my wife's jewelry, watching closely as she handled it that morning. Her jewelry -- including pieces of deep family significance passed down through generations -- was secured in our locked vehicle with no signs of forced entry and driven directly to our new home. At the destination, the same mover who had observed the jewelry that morning offered multiple times to carry the specific bag containing it into the house. My wife placed the bag in our bedroom closet. At some point during the remainder of the move, we were outside the home. The following morning the jewelry was gone. When we reported this to CEO William Saunders, he stated -- verbatim -- "we have never had anything like this happen and this could ruin us." He requested we not contact police for 24 hours, stating he wanted to speak with his crew first, and indicated he had a good idea who may have been responsible based on issues that person had "when he was young." We honored his request. The items were not returned. My wife spoke with Mr. Saunders separately and independently, and his statements to her were consistent with what he told me. Mr. Saunders later disputed making those earlier statements. A police report has been filed. The investigation is active.
