Great Thai food! They were able to serve us quickly, too despite being really busy . We found street parking close by. Tons of vegetarian options and a huge backyard patio. Great visit!

Really enjoyed the food here! The kao soi was especially amazing and flavorful. Service was great and food came out quick. I enjoyed the beef brisket dish, the meat was tasty. The rich in the plastic wrap got hard pretty quickly. Drunken noodles and pork dumplings were yummy.

We came to Monsoon Siam a little after 3 pm and unfortunately the lunch menu wasn't available anymore. They did not specifically have panang curry with tofu on the dinner menu, but the server said they were able to make the dish though it would be a dinner portion instead of a lunch portion (no problem here!). I got the panang curry with tofu with a 4 out of 5 spice level - I thought the spice was perfect, the curry was delicious and not too runny. The tofu was really well cooked as well with a firm texture. We sat indoors, the restaurant was quiet at around 3:30 pm; there is indoor and outdoor seating. Free street parking right in front of the restaurant. Very good Thai food and I'm glad we stopped by before leaving Madison!

Arrived just as they were unlocking the doors for lunch on a Sunday. Our meals were very good. Nice flavors. Service more than solid (regularly checked on us) and friendly. I like too that the credit card machine is brought to the table The presentation was beautiful Only improvement would be to have my Pad Thai a bit warmer, I was wondering if it was ready before my companion's meal and cooled more than a bit.

Fast service and cozy ambience. I got the boat noodle soup and it was solid - tasted like a more peppery version of pho. Some comments from other dishes my friends got: drunken noodles tasted good but wish there was more meat, train fried rice was filling, pad Thai tasted and looked good but portion size was a little too small.

Wonderful, accommodating staff and delicious food. We had to wait a while for a table on a Thursday evening (25 minutes), but the staff made sure to check on us every now and then and gave us menus to review while we waited. The food for our table of five came out a little staggered, but our party didn't have to wait very long before we all had our dishes. If you're trying to decide on what to order, the Thai Table is a fun smorgasbord of a lot of their menu options. It was definitely enough food for two people! This is a wonderful restaurant, and I'll keep coming back for delicious Thai food!

I stopped by on a Saturday evening. There was a short wait. Shrimp drunken noodles was my favorite item here. Chicken Massaman cury with roti was really good as well. The spring rolls were crispy.

    Pad See Ew lunch special

My friend told me that this was her favorite Thai restaurant in Madison, and after getting lunch takeout on Friday, I gotta say that I agree. Madison has several Thai restaurants and I've tried several of them and sadly been disappointed by their curry and noodle dishes. I ordered the pad see ew with beef for lunch carryout and their fresh rolls. My husband got the green curry (with beef) and was also pleasantly surprised by how good it was even after waiting to eat it 2 hours after it was made. My pad see ew was very flavorful and didn't skimp out too much on the meat. The beef was a little dry/overcooked but not too bad. I also really appreciated that the noodles weren't overcooked and still slightly chewy. I would definitely come back for the lunch special and also maybe to try some of their dinner items at the restaurant (rather than takeout)!

Monsoon Siam has a nice cozy atmosphere. Stopped by for dinner on a Saturday. We got there at around 5ish and it was a little busy but we were seated immediately. Service was very nice and friendly. We had the spring rolls as an appetizer. Flavor was okay, however, it was very oily as every bite had a lot of oil dripping out. I got the khao soi as my main and this was very tasty and had a good kick to it. The soup was on the thicker side. Loved the crispy noodles on top.

Came here while I was in town for work and it did not disappoint! Ordered the chicken pad Thai and I absolutely love how it comes out wrapped in an omelette, how genius! It was a huge, delicious portion - I had enough for 3 servings. I also had the spring roll, which was ok. I wasn't a fan of the thick peanut sauce. It was too thick and had too much peanut butter. The service was quick and the place is small but cozy. I like the outdoor seating in back!

A nice Thai restaurant in Madison! I ordered a Thai coffee and it was so good! The serving people are pretty friendly and efficient. My two friends and I ordered three plates to share and we were too full to finish all of them. We really liked the yellow curry beef ribs!

Great food! My favorite was the beef rib yellow curry, I was really impressed with it. The drunken noodles had the wok hay and depth in its flavor. The Thai table platter was pretty good, and I think it's a good option if you're looking for variety. The crying tiger was surprisingly good and its flavor profile was unique. I'll circle back and recommend the beef rib curry again. Service was good, the wait was not long at all, and the energy was good in there. I recommend!

I always heard really good things about Monsoon Siam, and it was for good reason! The restaurant was busy with some many people enjoying their food. I loved all the plating and the food tasted so yummy. Everything was seasoned so well and the sticky rice that came with the crying tiger helped make things come together. Definitely a restaurant I recommend going to if you're on the East side of Madison.

But if you were open to just having a nice casual dinner in a retro easy place, this is it. My fiance and I went to meet up with some friends from out of town and from a list of places I wanted to try, they chose this one. Between the two of us, we spent about $60 for this meal, which I suppose now adays is on par with what you can get away with. We also left with half a sandwich because honestly, these guys are huge! -Hot Beef Sando with Cheese (extra): this was a massive sandwich, packed with flavor. The ah jus was on the side and needed for dunking. It hit the spot, was a messy affair, but was very good. The meat wasn't melt in your mouth, it was actually quite dry, but the mix of everything together and the dip made it good overall. - Chili Cup: well spiced, super small cup and charging a dollar for each addition of onion, cheese, and sour cream is murder. Pass on the fixings, the soup doesn't need it, but it's not something i'd get again as it wasn't knock out of the park good. -Homemade Orange Soda: this was great. I love the nostalgia of using Tang and it was more earthy because they put some spices in it. Overall, would get again. -Coleslaw was asian inspired and made well, especially with the mint on top. Be warned though, its the same slaw on the pulled chicken...which speaking of: -Pulled chicken sandwich: It's their meat americanized fusion version of a banh mi. We could tell a lot of thought went into the design and flow of the evening. Every dish was beautifully presented, flavorful, and full of creative twists on classic favorites. Like the strawberry tomato soup and the corn blueberry ice cream. The bison and other meat dishes were perfectly done and high quality. t's clear that the chefs take pride in crafting dishes that are both inventive and approachable, with local ingredients. I was also happy to find out they'll box up any courses you can't finish, which is great if you want to plan ahead for what to eat and what to take home. Already hoping I can get a reservation to go back.

I have been WAITING to come here and I was not disappointed. Honestly, if you want to try Nook (and…read moreyou should if you can) I would go in with no expectations and just experience it -- meaning stop reading this review after the first paragraph because it might give some spoilers. To start, reservations. They open a few months in advance at midnight on the first of the month... sucks for anyone not usually up at midnight but worth it. I locked in my reservation date at 12:03am, a coworker was also trying to get a reservation for the same month and it was sold out by 12:06am when he tried. So, know your date ahead of time, click refresh constantly starting at 11:59pm, and Godspeed! Now to my experience. I'm not usually wild about the 12course restaurants you see in Chicago or New York. The space is uppity, the people are obnoxious, and the food is... usually just fine. This is truly a Madison and a Wisconsin spin on that pretentious kind of environment, and it is so down to earth. It's a personal experience with the chef and staff that you can't get in the big city. They explain each meal and often would tell you where the ingredients came from nearby... sometimes the chef's backyard. There is one seating per night at 6:30pm and everyone is sitting together. The plates are served individually to each person, and technically there are six 2-person tables assembled together about 3-4 inches from one another to make a sort of single long table. I'd sort of been picturing one single long table, but this worked just fine. My party of 2 was near the middle, so it was fun to be able to have some inclusion on conversations on both side of the table.  And the food. Wow. Continuing the Wisconsin spin on a 12 course (this being 13 course) meal, these are not tiny plates. While each one is not a solo big meal, they are larger than I expected and I was legitimately full after course #4. And we hadn't even gotten to the "mains" at that point! They do box parts of the meal up for you if it's conducive to leftovers. That gave me dinner the next night as well. So pace yourself, and if it's something that would function as leftovers, try it and move on. I did the wine pairing with it, and they were also generous pours (9 of them) -- consider an Uber. I'm not a wine-o, but I figured when in Rome.... go all out. The wines actually did complement each meal really well.  This is a unique experience of fine dining you WILL not get at the fancy restaurants. If you are a foodie, this is a must. It's super low key, come as you are. We had people at our table in hooded sweatshirts and people in nice dresses as if they were ready for the symphony. All were welcome and nobody was judged. The chef is hilarious, the staff is so much fun and I was laughing constantly. They are truly part of the experience almost as much as the food itself. If this in in your budget, it is worth the stress of getting a reservation. Bravo. Oh, and if it's not obvious -- yes, the food is incredible.
