Truth in advertising: klein should be, "lächerlich klein," ha ha. That's me laughing. And of…read morecourse, Covid hasn't helped. With a newer indoor maximum of 14 covers, it's really small. The good news is, quality control is now ridiculously easy. The oxcheek ragout, the char, the herring buttermilk aspic were enjoyable. So, some excellent food is coming out. Anything on the plate was meant to be there. On that note, know your audience. The paper placemats with restaurant name printed, boiled beef amuse-bouche, and the popcorn added to the flank steak main are well and good for Bremen. But, in larger markets around the EU, it might get you stabbed, I mean, on the receiving end of some harsh language. I'll still go back. 2021 08 25. M0. G&M 15.

Wonderful!!! I can recommend anyone to come here if you're willing to pay for quality…read more The interior is very cozy, just a few tables in a old fashioned and classy style. The service was very nice; our waiter was telling us about the dishes and making our visit pleasant in general with his attitude. The food: OMFG... The head chef has a way to put together unexpected details on the menu, for examples sweetbread and scallop, truffles with lobster tail and fish, and fois de gras in ravioli, and he/she pulls it of gallantly. We had the 5 dish gourmet menu with a few, very good wines from the list to it. There was often silence between me and my co-eater in order to fully enjoy the beautiful taste combinations. Very pleasant indeed.

My dad took me here for my 23rd birthday, as I was living in Germany and the rest of the family…read morecouldn't make the trip from the U.S. So to do something super special, he took me Louis C. Jacob, which is basically the German version of the Modern in NYC (that's my way of saying it is extremely expensive). Although the bill was hefty (esp. since it was in euros), every course is truly better than the last. By the time the dessert cart rolled by the eloquent dessert descriptions, which usually sound like music to my ears, were just making me sick and I couldn't think of eating another bite... Ok I did struggle through a delicious dark chocolate and raspberry dessert with gold on it- A girl can't say no to gold or dark chocolate. The interior is beautiful, but the atmosphere is a bit stuffy and I felt a bit uncomfortable having multiple waiters watching my every move. I won't penalize for that, because they're just trying to provide exceptional service. Better have your pinky raised at all times and don't forget to bring a camera, because these dishes really are a work of art =)

Dining at Jacob's has been the best culinary experience of my life (and I've been to a few Michelin…read morerestaurants). The menu is strong from the first complimentary starter up to the last dessert and cheese. What I really liked is that the emphasis is not in presentation but in the ingredients and maximizing the flavor. Very positive is also the focus on a great part of the dishes, in seasonality and locality of the ingredients. The little portion of the local braised beef , was by far the best beef I ever had. Service is friendly and spot on, the Chef as well and it was nice of him to come and have a chat with us and other tables. If they keep up like this the 3rd star is close...
