I've never had dental issues or even a single cavity in my life, so I was shocked when I was told I had significant gum disease. Because of this claim, they refused to perform the routine cleaning I had scheduled. Instead, I was strongly encouraged to purchase expensive out-of-pocket products/treatment costing around $7,000. The experience left me extremely uncomfortable and concerned. Since then, I've visited two other dentists in Monroeville, both have told me that my teeth and oral health look great. Neither raised the same concerns I was presented with at 412 Dental. The practice does a lot of advertising, so I feel it's important to share my experience and encourage people to not go here and get a second opinion before agreeing to expensive recommended treatments if they do. Based on my experience, I would HIGHLY not recommend them to a single soul.

And the posted prices can be misleading because the listed price is for the most very basic of lenses. They were way off on positioning with a pair of my glasses so they had to be sent back to remake. The staff at the counter told me "it happens all the time, it could be the factory but it could be we mismarked you" so not exactly something that gives me confidence in their abilities... They also don't help at all with glasses previously purchased here. I had an arm of a pair that was loose and they wrote down the name and phone number of a repair place. When I went to a different eyeglass store for my next pair, that place made the quick repair for me even though they weren't purchased there!

All I ever used was a clean microfiber cloth and for classes and Zyliss. This is unacceptable. Do not get cheated as I have. Go elsewhere, where they stand behind defective products. I feel like they are super expensive compared to any other eye doctor I've ever went to. Also, the service staff is extremely rude. Once I was late for an appointment, which is unbelievable since they constantly text, email, and call. Upon my arrival, explained that I was 10 minutes late and that I understood if they couldn't take me and if I had to reschedule I could. One of the girls working at the desk, did not realize that I was there and started talking about the customer who's never answers the phone and just happened to not show up and then she went on and on about how she knew this would happen because this patient doesn't answer the phone. Evidently it was me she was talking about, and even if it wasn't, it was extremely rude for this staff member to be talking so negatively about another patient in front of an audience. Another time I picked up my daughter's trial contact lenses and they told me if they didn't work she would need to come back in and schedule an appointment with the doctor. My daughter is 18 and she's been wearing contact lenses since the fifth grade. I asked them why she would have to see the doctor again. Why couldn't we just try a different type of contact lens? Once again, the service staff was rude and told me that a doctor would be needed to be seen and I just think that is ridiculous. My daughter is 3 1/2 hours away at college. She is not coming home to see an eye doctor and prolong getting contact lenses just because the weekly trial she's trying on aren't liked. she can just go back to monthly. It's just ridiculous and I feel like there's all kinds of fees that I've never experienced with other eye doctors. When they called to confirm my appointment today and I told them what my insurance was the girl on the other line very rudely commented "Oh". I was never aware that VSP was that bad of an eye insurance. I told the girl to just cancel my appointment. it's also so ridiculous that they call and call and call. They leave a message but they want to physically speak with you to confirm your appointment. Some people have job jobs and some people have things that they have to do and they can't keep their phone on all day. I wouldn't even mind the overpriced Spence because Indo like the doctors, but it would be so worth it to leave just to avoid the aggressive rudeness of the staff that works there.
