The New York City Fire Department is the largest Municipal Fire Department in the United States. In fact it's one of the largest on the planet! I'm continuously amazed at the huge responsibilities that they have twenty four hours a day, three hundred and sixty five days a year. It's my opinion that FDNY needs more resources considering our aging buildings. There's a lot of Fire Education needed for the general public. They are serving around 8 million NYC residents. People move in and out of the city. I let them know how much I appreciate their service every time I see them. I'm posting this review on Thanksgiving 2022 to once again say THANK YOU! I'm recommending you New Yorker's do the same!

Much better and more modern facilities than the Old York Town Police Department…read more The New York City Fire Department are pretty wonderful in many ways (except maybe on Law & Order when they get into fights with the cops due to shady goings on), and a lot more friendly than some of the other New York officials you might encounter. They've done a lot of Brave things over the years, not least on 9/11. It's too sad to talk about that, to be honest. I still don't think we have a clue who or what was behind that and I hope that someday everyone behind it will be brought to justice so all these brave people can have a little more peace, perhaps. This is a great house for a great crew, and everyone in the city should be thankful that they do what they do so well.

The building where my mother lives had an issue for over 8 days making her life unbearable and the City Housing Authority did not respond or even returned calls. My mother is an elderly woman needing assistance and no response from Housing is disturbing. One of the Captains from this Fire House took the time to talk to me about the concern, although there was nothing he and or his Firefighters could have done without causing undue hardship to the other tenants, he took the time to listen and make useful suggestions. The men and women of FDNY should be commended for their professionalism and their genuine care for the community they serve. I regret not getting the name of the Captain, but I want to acknowledge him and his House for all they do everyday!

This is a great firehouse to come to and get your dog or cat vaccinated for rabies. There is plenty…read moreof parking and very easy to access off E. Main St., Bridgewater. I decided to arrive 1 hour early because I didn't know how long the lines might be. I was pleasantly surprised to find no one there until 5:30p. I was first in line. The veterinarian showed up at 6p . Dogs were vaccinated 6p-7p and Cats were vaccinated from 7p-8p. It was completely organized . I signed in and gave some information, walked up to the table where Dr stout and his assistant was and he gave inoculated my little Pom in a matter of minutes. Dr. Stout was so good my little Pomeranian didn't even flinch cry or feel anything. Just like that I was done. I would recommend checking with your local town , because I found out every town offers free rabies shots during the month of May. Some might also do it in the fall. If you have multiple pets it's a great way to save money and a vet office visit.

The firefighters were super sweet (as is always the case at any firehouse I've ever visited). This place has the coolest collection of trucks I've ever seen! They have a huge converted army truck for wilderness fires, a Ghostbusters-style vehicle perfectly painted to match the neon yellow fire trucks, and an old vintage style fire truck, also painted the neon yellow of the fleet. They let the kids climb in the army/wildfire truck and gave a lot of cool details on everything. Very fun! Even better, the hoagie was packed full of quality cold cuts, and ratios of traditional Italian sandwich components were perfect. Only $10 for the huge sandwich, chips and water! Great way to support this great firehouse!

Troy explained how they were supporting the house while this department was on a call fighting a blaze since early morning. I honor and respect those who serve their community with such bravery. True Heroes! They don't just fight fires, they provide medical treatment and rescue people from dangerous circumstances. They train on fire safety as well as the importance of properly installing smoke alarms. We talked about the Honolulu Fire Department and how the trucks are distinct. Each station has its unique design and features based on location. I didn't realize that you needed so much training for the various sections of the fire truck. I really enjoyed this visit the most.

We love visiting the Ghostbusters Headquarters and come at least once each time we visit NYC! The…read morefirehouse itself is awesome, so fun to see it with the Ghostbusters signage and decals. It's a must-see for all Ghostbusters fans. As it is a working fire station, there are always firefighters there and most are super kind and generous answering questions. On our most recent visit in January 2026, one of them informed us they are no longer allowed to sell merch. Such a bummer!!!
